Ugh, I guess I will be trying to follow this video later tonight. Rtx 3090 with I7 10700k with settings on medium and this game is choppy and horrible. Also, you can't see the tutorial in VR?!?! I'm starting to think I made the wrong choice between X-Plane and msfs 🤔
Hey man, great video! I have a challenge for you... 2080ti, i9 9900KF on vulkan Oculus Quest.... Something is bottlenecking my quest to only put out half the capable fps and is locked at 36 and refuses to go higher... I'm not asking for a constant 72fps lol but it should surely be able to go above 36fps. Thanks.
I found something that might work. It looks like it is a bit of a glitch. Let me know if you try it and if it works for you. ua-cam.com/video/6YWRY7qAqHI/v-deo.html. I haven't tried it myself, so I'm not sure how it will work but it seemed like they were having a similar problem with half the frame rate. Could be many other problems. I would also try lowering all the settings to see what kind of performance you can get at bare minimum. Hope it helps!
Gonna try these tomorrow. I tried turning off the ASW and my fps would fluctuate between 40 to 75 but with nasty stutters. Then I lock my frames to 45 in oculus tool tray and sometimes it's nice and smooth but only with the cessna. I tried with the lancair (payware) and its ehh. I7 9700F (OC not allowed) Rtx 2070 super 8GB Ram 16 Cv1 (just got a rift s today havent tried with the rift s yet) The game has no plugins at all. Just started playing it. I only downloaded a few planes. Thanks for this. I'm definitely subscribing to this channel.
great tips, thanks a lot. i am still puzzled after following all your tips. I am on a 5900x with RTX3080 and a valve index. I still get minor stutters with all anti aliassing off, textures at half and objects at half. Only when objects are at minimal setting these stutters dissapear. I would think that this setup would be able to run at everything maxed?
You`re not the only one with these issues. I have a GTX 1080 Titan. And it ran smooth with almost all the graphics settings maxed out. So your system is more than capable of dealing with this since you got a much bigger powerhouse than I do. Something is buggy with the program itself.
I fly with AI aircraft all the time in X-Plane 11 in VR, but at least up to 3 plus yourself, without any hiccups in performance. But then I'm also playing the 11.50b9 Beta.
Ya. I have had some issues with sound when it comes to AI. But when I'm trying to squeeze every last drop out of my sim then I will turn off my AI aircraft.
@@VRFlightWorld That's a new one. But good point on slowly adding AI aircraft if the system allows without taking a performance hit. I had to do the same before I made major PC upgrades recently. Never knew about VMI twick VR either so I'll definitely give that a try. ;)
Is 16 better than 8GB RAM? I have 8GB currently and i would like to upgrade my RAM in my gaming laptop or Acer Nitro 5 for 16. Is it worth it? I’m getting stutters and i heard many say that they should go away when you upgrade to 16. 32 is overkill for me but i will likely get 16 or 24.
Ram is definitely an easy fix. Probably one of the most cost efficient fixes as well. 8GB is probably a bit low. You can always download a program like afterburner(free) which can show you your ram usage during your game. That way you can pin point what is causing the problem.
Great video!
efficient and precise video, well done !

Try vulkan

How about changing VR resolution?

@@BlackFoxFalcon thanks for your response. At least shows I am not crazy 😜

Ya it was strange to lose sound because of the AI.

upgrade computer, clean up your, get positive, marry a girl... All I needed was resolution and reprojection settings, not all of that obvious stuff
And I’m here with a 1500$ Acer Nitro 5 from 2018 with a GTX1050 4gb vram and a i7 with 8gb RAM 2.80GHz:(😰 and 10 FPS:( even with Vulkan:(
10? That's no good. Is that in VR or without. I feel like without VR you should get better than 10FPS.
