hello i just got xplane 11 but i have a problem of sceneries. Can u please help me out on how i can download the global sceneries atleast, maybe europe or usa please....my game is realy limited....en feels like sucking,,....
This is the best tutorial. Thank you for this. If you have the opportunity could you instruct newbies as to how to set up communication with tower please.
Thank you for taking the time to make this very informative video. I've been operating with MSFS since 1998 and finally making the switch over to something completely new and different. (mostly for the FlightFactor A350, better sceneries, and performance, IMO). This video is a huge help. Thanks again!
I just wanted come back to the video that made me get addicted to flight simming… I was a complete beginner when I first watched this video 3 years ago… and now I have more than 2,000 flying hours. Last year, I learned about VatSim and now I am more involved in the flight simming world than I ever imagined. Thank you very much my dear sir. ❤️ Edit: I also watched your complete tutorial on the Zibo 737 back in the day, and that was the first ever aircraft that I completely learned how to fly… I still remember my first full flight… and I can never forget how happy I was after performing my first landing 🥹
Appreciate the video, I learned about a couple of useful looking mods. However as a beginner the video wasn't as helpful as I'd hoped. It would have been great to see the start to end process of installing/setup the game, selecting a relatively simple plane such as the Cessna and actually showing us the bare minimum controls needed to takeoff and land the plane. I know NOTHING about flying a Cessna, but with a little time, trial and error I was able to be able to take off and land using only knowledge of the controls for brake, throttle, rudder, flaps and trim. As you can see from other recent comments here, a lot of beginners take one look at the complexity of a commercial jet control panel and run away. The Cessna may not be as "cool" but its much more fun to get a plane in the air and safely down again then spending 30 mins looking at settings and control dials.
I have been using FSX for about 15 years. I downloaded XPlane 11 over a year ago but couldn’t seem to do what I could get from FSX ( with a lot of add ons I might add) and have been wanting to give it another go. So thank you very much for these tutorials etc. It really has inspired my get going with XPlane. I was surprised at some of the choice of add ons available.
I have the latest version of XPlane 11 (have also used FSX in the distant past), and was shocked how incredibly bad the scenery was in some places (specifically the San Francisco bay area). The golden gate bridge , for instance, does not look anything like it looks in the real world (the sim represents it just as a line, not even the arches are there), and the "squarish" and "jagged" textures do not look realistic at all. The bay area is where I live, and also where I typically do my ACTUAL flying in the real world, in a 172M. In the sim, the entire thing looks as if someone had just pasted a few "squares" there. I'm not sure if something is wrong with my XPlane copy or if it is just supposed to be that way! I don't recall the original FSX being this terrible!
Fantastic guide, love it! I've been flying Xp11 since its beta and I wish this video existed back then, would have saved me tons of time figuring things out. Also, X-Camera explains a lot why I suddenly lost my camera presets, at the time I started using I saved a bunch of views and took a while to pull them off, and when I started the game after a longtime they suddenly disappeared. They went out of their way to change the free version to force people to buy their premium version.
I have 2,444.4 hours on FSX steam edition, no telling how many on the original version, and my computer went kuput. I finally got a replacement years later and it came in today. Steam had XP11 on sale for 30 bucks and I've really been wanting to try it.
Thank you so much for this! I currently don't even have.a PC so I'm stuck to Infinite Flight on my iPad... I mean, love it but think it's time I take the next step. This video was very helpful!
You are limited in what can be done on an iPad though, especially when it comes to simulations 🤔. Hope you have managed to get a PC ( I would have suggested a desktop, because you have the advantage of going for a large monitor; mine is 27inches). ?
Great guide. Im new to this, but loving it so much. Been on FSX for years. All those hours didnt prepare me for this lol Now to learn full start procedures so i can fly something besides the L5 😎
Thanks for this. I'm brand new to X Plane and this is the best tutorial I've seen so far. I like your website, too. I Think I'm sub....In fact, I just did....
@@TheFlightSimDeck : Still wondering why it took me this long to try out X-Plane 11 though 🤔. I guess the 'blame' goes to the lure of advertisement. I got the game on steam, a week or so after buying FSX:SE, but I didn't have any controller then, at it was easier to use the keyboard. It less than 2 days of watching your video ( plus hints from a few sources), I was able to do the following; * Install a livery for the default 737-800(I have the ZIBO Mod too). * Start the default 737-800 from 'cold and dark', using the flow from another video that I saw, after watching yours. * Carried out a test flight ( KMCO - KMCO ) at FL5000. The 'Better Pushback' is really handy. I couldn't get the 5th folder ( to update the ZIBO MOD), but I managed to get the ZIBO Updater working. I guess I am going to stick to Boeing on X-Plane 11, and stick with Airbus on FSX: SE 🙂

Add-ons tend to take up a lot of space but you'll need them in order to get something that looks decent. With my system I get an average of 35 to 70 FPS and that's with all graphics settings at high or maximum.
