    How To Make No Bake Caramel Slices
    Base
    500g milk arrowroot
    250g butter
    Filling
    800g condensed milk
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    100g butter
    2 tbsp golden syrup
    2 tbsp gelatine powder
    chocolate topping
    400g dark cooking chocolate
    250g butter

    Nanas across Australia would gasp at the thought of adding gelatine to a caramel slice! If you melt the butter, add the sugar to develop a toffee THEN add the condensed milk you will make a caramel that will set very well.

    It looks very yummy but OMG you used just about three quarter of kilogram of butter. But it looks very tasty

    can we use milk chocolate for the top as I really don't like dark chocolate or does dark chocolate work better

      In any recipe that calls for chocolate, the type you enjoy eating is the type you should cook with. From white to dark the result will be much the same.
