Hi David. I was watching a video on how to make a mars bar slice, and the lady shook her tin when she spread the chocolate, and it instantly made the chocolate go super smooth. She just shook it gently from side to side, it was like magic! Just a tip. :)

I recommend dipping your measuring spoon in hot water before adding the golden syrup to heat the spoon up. The syrup just slides right off the spoon.

Its really nice how people say you 'OnePotChef' should get your TV show, and I understand that at least (probably) more people would have access to you but, you all have to admit that just watching him do all his videos from the comfort of his home, somewhat puts you in a relaxed mood. I just feel that being simple in this sense is better- I enjoy watching you work at your home- it gives me the sense that I can actually do what you're doing in your videos...You are really great at what you do ^^

The caramel will be hot when it comes out of the oven, but will start to cool quickly. By the time the chocolate is melted and poured over the surface, the caramel layer will be cooled and semi-solid ;)

I make caramel slice all the time for my brother because it's his favourite dessert, but I will say I've never made the caramel with golden syrup. I always make it with more brown sugar. I'll give the golden syrup a go next time I make it :)

A Cup is a standard metric measurement. It is any measuring container that holds exactly 250ml of water. There is a link to a Measurement Conversion site on the "About" tab on my channel page that can help you out ;)

@stralight321 You can use any chocolate suitable for melting. Try looking in the baking needs aisle at your local supermarket. It may be called "Compound Chocolate"
If you can't find it, you can use eating chocolate instead ;)

@31mjn You can replace the base mixture with 250g of plain sweet cookies reduced to crumbs (in a food processor, or crushed in a bag) then mix in 75g of butter (melted) and press into the lined tin. Chill for 15 minutes then follow the rest of the recipe as stated ;)

When making a dessert/sweet it's usually best to use unsalted butter.
The coconut is vital in this version, but I have seen other versions around that don't use coconut.

@KittyPaynee I recommend using brown sugar for best results. You can leave out the coconut if you prefer - but it will change the taste and texture of the final product.
