We don't have natural resources and in the early 1980s Malaysia currency is higher than Singapore. Thank goodness we have a great leader that lead Singapore to what it is today. Qatar have abundance of oil and gas and they have more money to spend on development. In no time they will be on par with Dubai. Even Qatar airways is voted a the best airline and Singapore airline is rated second.

With multiple contracts in hand with Europe and asian countries, and promising outlook of natural gas prices in near future, qatar defaulting looks highly unlikely atleast for now.
