Craig, Thank you for being the only Reactor to review this very important song.
More Waylon for you - Lonesome, Onry and Mean from his greatest hits. It really shows what a master guitarist he was!
Agreed, haven't seen any reactors do this song...and it's a shame.
Tasha Jackson also reacted to the song.
So much truth in this “Conversation”….
In David Allan Coe’s song “The Ride” it says…(the ghost of Hank) stopped outside of Nashville.
Hank was rejected from Nashville; Fired from the Opry. Hank was not a legend and not recognized until after his death, alone in the back of his car on New Year Eve.
Lacking in medical knowledge in the times, Hank was self-medicating because of the pain from a mild form of Spina Bifida and MS. RIP Godfather of Country.
I love The Ride.
Love anything by Jr or Waylon. They were very good friends in real life.
He was basically the father Hank never had.
@@Chicken_Wing91 Jr does a great tribute to Waylon with waylon's guitar.
Thanks for sharing this, Waylon is the G.O.A.T. jmo. You should listen to Freedom to Stay, one of my favorites...
A great tribute to his iconic father. Amazing collaboration.
Imagine being in a room full of legends. Just letting them talk. Think all you could learn just by listening.
They do have some of those videos on UA-cam! Sometimes there's like 20 people just talking & playing! You never know what there going to play or whose going to sing a song. It's pretty cool!! 🙂
Another great song by Hank Jr. that you should listen to is called "Waylon's Guitar". It is a great song Hank sang about Waylon after Waylon passed away.
You should get on UA-cam & fine the guy that hand made his gorgeous guitar! He shows you what he had to do to make it. If you're interested. 🙂
@@jewls9697 I have watched that. I am a fellow Guitar player...so anything guitar related I watch. Thanks for thinking of that.
Hank jr. Almost died when he fell down a mountain. He wrote a song about it. “All in Alabama” - it’s a great song.
Thanks for sharing. Waylon is my favorite of all time. He and Hank, Jr. were close friends and this really was a conversation. Waylon’s wife, Jessi Colter, was the waitress in this video.
Country music royalty right here.
You also need to watch Hank Williams, Jr. official video of Tear in My Beer where they have digitally added him singing with his dad. I think you will really enjoy that one as well.
Absolutely love this. There is a version where they were guests on a talk show and they did it live. It's pretty cool to watch!
Yep, it's cool seen it a few times.
One interesting thing.. the waitress that Waylon was looking at when her back was turned, then she turns around and smiles at him..that’s his wife Jessie Colter. She had a few hits as well. “I’m not Lisa “ is one of them. Great reaction as always! 👍👍👍
I had that song song to me my whole life, being as my name is Julie! Jessi used to play keyboard for Waylon. Check out Johnny Cash's show where Waylon sang Only Daddy That'll Walk the Line. Johnny & Waylon lived together at one point!I think back then is really when Country Music just blew up!! People Loved it!!
Thx. I never knew that.
Been waiting for this one excited to watch!
This is the Country music I grew up on! Love it
Waylon Jennings was supposed to be on the doomed flight in 1959 that killed singers Buddy Holly, J.P. Richardson (aka The Big Bopper) and young Ritchie Valens. Waylon was playing bass for Budddy's backing band. He gave up his seat on the plane to an ill J.P. Richardson. It became known as The Day The Music Died and memorialized in the song "American Pie" by Don McLean. It's another great song and one you may have heard over the years.
Love them both
Great reaction choice!
What a cool song!
I think Hank Sr would be proud of them both!
Why do I think along with Hank Jr even at his older age Waylon could still raise more than a little Hell?😅
That song did evolve from an actual conversation the two of them were having about Hank Sr. That's why it rings so true.
Thanks! Never heard this one before
I just want to thank you! I see other reactors that are just trying to get money. And that's fine. I just love how you truly try to learn the information & are getting well educated in our Country Music! You're the most genuine reactor of all of them!! I have a ton of respect for you!! I look forward to your reactions everyday!!! I probably already told you this, but Waylon has a whole live concert on UA-cam that has been broken down into individual songs!! It's too bad they don't let you hit like everytime you watch it or you'd have hundreds just from me!! I also try to watch them on all my different devices & I can click like on them!! Sorry to babble! Just wanted you to know how much you're appreciated!! 💖
Yes ❤️ .... Also reminds me of Mart Stuart singing " jacking jack flash " and ""high on a mountaintop" ..... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💃❤️❤️❤️
2 of the very best ever
I always liked this one. It was on HWJR's greatest hits, volume 2, and we used to listen to that cassette over and over.
One good song that I haven't found anyone react to is Hank Williams Jr.'s song "Walking In The Shadow." It's a song he wrote in the 60's when he was trying to start writing his own songs;instead of constantly singing his dad's
BEST MUSIC EVER!!! Thnx Craig!! Made my day!!❤
2 of my favorites love this song
I always found it pretty amazing that he achieved such great success. Mostly because his father became such an Icon of country music. I mean when you think about Elvis you never think of Lisa Marie, his daughter, and put them in equal standing (I don't know why?) She had an incredible voice. Same for Willie Nelson's sons they are all fantastic artists, but for some strange reason in present times not a lot of artists and musicians' children can reach the same pentacle of success, as their parents. Might have something to do with the way we consume our music today (just a thought)🤔
Here's another suggestion if interested "That's The Way Love Goes Baby - Merel Haggard" and "Mamas, Don't Let Your Baby's Grow up to be Cowboy's - (Waylon & Willie) with Lyrics"
I get what you're saying but I never thought Lisa Marie had a good voice, and she dang sure didn't have that indescribable it factor her dad did.
Love this ! ❤
This is what I live about music! It unites people!
Great song
Great song with two great legends, RIP Hoss (Waylon)
Go way back and do the 1st song Hank Jr ever wrote in the mid 60's called Standing in the Shadows. It's about his life living in Hank Sr's shadow
The Drifting Cowboys was the name of Hank, Sr’s band for anyone who might not know.
Waylon Jennings & Johnny Cash... Chain Gangs!!
Such a great song, love it ❤️🙂
My hometown
Love Waylon Jennings.
Hank Jr sings a great, true & funny!!
This makes me miss Waylon.
Love this!
Hank Williams Jr. Does a great song & it's true but funny. It's called Coalition!! ❤🤞🤞💯
Hank Sr. was music.
I’d like to recommend one of Waylon’s grandsons Struggle Jennings. He’s mostly a rapper but has recently dabbled in country music. Fell out of love is pretty current and it’s featuring a vocal power house Caitlynne curtis. They are both independent artists with no record label backing them.
Hank Williams was married to Billie Jean Horton when he died. It was Jr that had his mother Audrey buried next to him although they were divorced. I guess that he must have still loved her. They are probably still arguing while they lay next to each other 😅
I live about a mile from his grave. Interesting cemetary to visit for anyone who's brave enough to come to Montgomery Alabama 😘😘
On my bucket list, I’ll see you sooner rather than later 😉
Check out Hank Jr.'s song "The Eyes of Waylon." It's a wonderful tribute to Jennings.
Hank Sr was only 29 years old when he died.
Waylon & Johnny Cash...Chain Gang!!
Hank jr. is romanticizing his past. It was obvious to everybody that knew her, but Miss Audrey only “loved” Hank for what she could gain from him.
Everyone that ever knew her- ALL of them considered her a first class bitch.
Nobody’s ever had a good thing to say about her.
Please listen to Waylons "Dreaming my dreams with you" so beautiful. He loved singing this song
Man, I've waited soooo long for someone to finally react to this one.
If I were to suggest another Hank Jr tune, it would be "All in Alabama". It's about a major turning point in his life and career. The song doesn't specifically say it, but he fell 500ft down a mountain and smacked his head against a boulder. It crushed his face, knocked out his eye, and exposed his brain. His friend had to trek out to get help, and left his young son with Hank to talk to him and keep him conscious. Help finally came like 4 hours later.. Hank woke up a few days later to Johnny and June Cash at his bedside.
After that, Hank Jr always wore a hat, heard, and shades to cover up his scars.. But for the first time I saw him without his shades in an old interview I found recently. The scar didn't look too bad. Looked kinda cool.
Listen to Hank Jr. doing "Waylon's Eyes". Enjoy
Waylon Jennings....Outlaw Bit! Or Hank Jr.....The Coalition!! Funny but truthful!!
Kowliga and that picture of Hank in jail came from my hometown we are going to take that cell and move it
Good lord! Waylon's wife, Jessie Colter, was definitely a lucky woman!😍
it's sad this channel doesn't have more subs
@Taylor Family Reactions....Please try this. I can't believe I just found it a week ago!! It's by Waylon's grandson Whey...called If it Wasn't for the Sinnin!! It's fantastic & you'll definitely know he's related without even looking!! Please!
Another song I think you’d love, if you haven’t reacted to yet is “The Ride” by David Allen Coe!! Haunting!! Love these legends!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hank Williams didn’t go to prison he was jailed overnight in Alexander City, Alabama on August 17, 1952 for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Earl Scruggs, Jerry Lee Lewis, he was influenced by many contemporary musicians who visited his family, including Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Fats Domino, Jimmy Reed, B.B. King, Lightnin' Hopkins, R.L. Burnside, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, learned Robert Johnson’s music. Williams has said that the blues are the foundation of country music and the beginning of everything musical in his family. He has also said that he's always been interested in stripped-back blues. I’m not sure right now what stripped-black blues is but I’m going to find it and listen. His grandfather was best friends with Hank Williams Sr. and would listen to Hank Williams records
Hank Williams Jr Gave Waylon the nickname Watasha! It means "Old Number One" in Japanese! He gave it to him after they recorded "The Conversation" He called him that in the song. Hank called him that because in that song it was Waylon's way of telling Hank Jr. it was okay to sing his daddy's songs!! It was at the same time that Waylon took Hank Jr out on the road with him because Hank Jr was at a very low point!! Of course Hank Williams Sr. gave Jr. the nickname Bocephus because at the Grand Old Opry there was a guy there that used the dummy doll. Like ventriloquism and the dummy doll was named Bocephus. So his daddy started calling him that. It's kinda funny all them boys that hung together each have their thing. Hank has a way of pulling his hat down over his ears being silly. Johnny Cash, of course, the man in black. Waylon always like to switch words around being goofy. I think Willie just had the pot thing lol. I can't think of anything for Kris or George Jones was always funny exceptwhenhewasnoshow Jones lol. I don't remember anything specific to Merle Haggard either. Just the song got me thinking about those things. Waylon & Willie done Mama's Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be Cowboys! Sometimes together & separate when doing their own show! I'm sorry for writing you another novel!! Next time tell me to please shut the heck up!! 🤐🤠
I really would love for you to listen to "Weather Man" by Hank Jr. He has dozens of great songs, but something about this one settles in my soul. I'd love to know if it speaks to you in the same way. If you ever get around to it, please choose the studio version. Thank you! Another great reaction to the songs we all know and love. Keep them coming! ❤
You need to check out “Outlaws Reward” by Hank Williams Jr you’d enjoy it
Ya gotta do some stuff from Waylon’s son, Shooter Jennings as well. A different sound, but same spirit.
Sure miss Waylon. I had almost every one of his albums. Check out America by Waylon and Only in America by Brooks and Dunn
That cute little waitress is Jessie Colter Waylon's Lovely Bride.
Craig u have to Dinosaur by Hank Jr. Descibes us older blokes lol used bloke in a sentence for the first time lol
Can't go wrong with Waylon!! Hank sings different types of songs. You really should check Hank Williams Jr.... The Coalition!!!
Hank Jr. surviving that 500ft fall off a mountain gave country music so much. There's a lot of singers who died young and you think "wow, music would be so different if they hadn't died"..well Hank Jr. got a second chance and music for decades was a lot better for it. And heck, Waylon also got a second chance..
Bocephus and walk Tasha
I think it's more like Watausha. - one word.
The dark haired waitress looks like Waylon's wife, Jessie Coulter
It is 🙂
Johnny Cash (25 mins to go).. words from my grandpa ( if you ain't bleeding from some where you ain't working hard enough boy.. HAKAD
Gotta do The Ride by David Alan Coe.
I don't think Waylon or Hank Jr.recorded a bad song.
