    It feels instinctive to do this.... I'm glad it is medically recommended..but it's not public knowledge unfortunately.
    It's a great option if you have already taken the maximum amounts of medicine per your doctor!

    Can you make a video on why stomach sleeping helps you breathe? I think it was the only way I got to bed the other night even with my asthma meds and other meds...and even all these things by the Grace of God!! Thanks to Jesus for bleeding His Grace on the cross for my sins..and for all who believe!

      Working with covid patients on ventilator in the icu we saw better outcomes with the patient on their stomach aka “prone” because the lungs are in the back and when the patient lays on the back the lungs do not expand fully. Laying on the stomach allows the lungs to expand

    How long does one go each area. You mentioned moving hands slightly to “move the mucus” but it’s not visible in the video, can you give info on that? Do you work up or down or something different?

    • @BreatheBetterwithElizabeth
      @BreatheBetterwithElizabeth  2 роки тому +5

      You can do about 5 minutes on each area. Just imagine that you are moving the mucus to the larger airways (mid chest area, but NOT over your trachea) so that it can be coughed out.

    • @BreatheBetterwithElizabeth
      @BreatheBetterwithElizabeth  2 роки тому +3

      It depends on the person and the amount and thickness of the mucus. Also, how well the person being percussed is tolerating it. This is a method that we to use, but it may not always produce mucus.

    Tried this on my Mom. Loosens the mucus, but it sticks in her throat. Any suggestions on her actually expelling it?

    • @BreatheBetterwithElizabeth
      @BreatheBetterwithElizabeth  Рік тому +1

      Yes! She needs to try to thin her mucus out. Naturally, drinking hot liquids, pineapple juice, or lemon water can thin mucus.

      I’m so sorry that you’re having to endure this right now! It’s good to lay on your stomach for several hours a day to better oxygenate your body. Also, check my channel for other videos. You would benefit from breathing exercises!

    • @BreatheBetterwithElizabeth
      @BreatheBetterwithElizabeth  6 місяців тому +1

      It really depends on the amount of mucus that you have stuck in your chest and how well you tolerate it. I wouldn’t do it more than 10 minutes at a time. A good time to do it is during or after a Nebulizer treatment (if you take those).
