I saw her when this and Sweet Nothins were popular. She was only about 16 yrs old I believe. It was my high school days (I just turned 80 this year). Great singer, she had been on TV for several years and had always had a big, strong voice.
Everyone who is a boomer knows a lot about Brenda Lee. She was the most popular female vocalist in the world way back late 50s to early 60s. Along with Connie Francis. Later on she went more into country music. She supported her folks when she was jut a kid, already entertaining professionally. And still entertains. I wish her the best, and hope she can continue on forever!
One of the greatest rock singers during her time and the fact she was in her early teens just makes her that much more amazing she was one of a kind and always will be a flame that really lit the torch for women in music during this time really booming
Thanks for the reaction. I grew up with this. Her Connie Francis, Skeeter Davis, Patsy Cline and so many others. I listen to all kinds of stuff but definitely have a soft spot for this stuff. I think that's why I like Agnetha Faltskog so much. She carried on this tradition pretty unapologetically. Such great music.
I love Brenda Lee, she was a teenager when she recorded So Sorry, very talented lady please react to more of Brenda Lee, thanks take care I really enjoy your videos
If there's nothing else you've ever heard of hers, there's one almost everyone has heard at some time or another. "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" is what she's best known for today. Most of her fame back in the day came as a Rockabilly star which borrowed elements from Rock and Country and had it's own individual sound.

Ok let me fill this in. Brenda Lee was 13 or 14 when she recorded this. Her record producer was the famous Owen Bradley, who produced for Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, and boat loads of other famous artists. Brenda's record label insisted she was too young for the song. At the end of a recording session, with 10 minutes to spare, Owen and Brenda decided to get down the track anyway. This is ONE TAKE recording! Upon hearing what they had, Decca Records wisely had a world famous, Australian composer, working in Nashville, orchestrate the incredible backing strings. Released in 1961, the record quickly shot to #1 on the Pop and Country charts. To date, it's sold over 15 million copies and remains Brenda's signature song.
Hi! I just found your channel. I would love to see you react to an Annie Lennox singing No Fear No Hurt No Pain No Broken Hearts. The vocals are very rich not just because her voice is great, but also because they are triple tracked. But don't do a live version because those would be with backup singers, not Annie doing all the vocals . This is not her typical song ?(if she has a "typical song", but I think you will like it a lot. The video with a doll with orange hair is fan-made has been allowed on UA-cam for years, so you won't get blocked (and there is another fan made video of this song, so I feel confident). She has sold anout 80 million albums if you add up the solo albums with the Eurythmics albums she sang and played on. I think your reaction will become popular. Thanks!

Connie Francis's Italian covers are among the best!!!
Little Miss Dynamite... at only 4‘ 9“ tall she packed quite a punch!!! „Rocking around the Christmas tree“is a favorite of mine as well.
I was fifteen in 1960, so I was really into all the teenybopper music. One of my favorites from Brenda Lee was "Sweet Nothin's."
