Love the Decca comment about the Beatles. Brenda heard the Beatles when she toured England, and she was the one who brought the idea of the signing the Beatles to Decca. She was disappointed Decca would not sign them.
"All Alone Am I"; "Sweet Nothin's"; "Break It To Me Gently" (Juice Newton also has a nice version); "Dynamite" (which is why they call her Little Miss Dynamite); "Fool # 1"; "I Want To Be Wanted" and "Rockin Around The Christmas Tree" (which is one of my favorite Christmas Songs).. ♠W.G.
SIR-------THIS IS FROM 1960-----------i WAS 13 Y/O, HEADING TO 14. BRENDA LEE--------AKA, BRENDA MAE TARPLEY ---------WAS ALL OF 4'11" --------AND WAS 16 Y/O WHEN SHE SANG THIS CLASSIC. PRODUCED IN NASHVILLE BY OWEN BRADLY, & BACKED UP BY THE ANITA KERR SINGERS. ----------------------------MJL, 75 Y/O
Rel, I 'm sure you know "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree." It's out every year and last year went up the charts again. She's in the R&R Hall Of Fame, too.
The American DECCA records was different from the British DECCA records. They were the same company originally, but split before World War II, and more recently have been brought back together under the Universal Music Group. There was no connection between them at the time of this recording.
SIR---------------ALSO, LISTEN TO "EMOTIONS " BY BRENDA, FROM 1961. MY PERSONAL FAVORITE BY HER., WRITTEN BY COUNTRY STAR, RAY PRICE. ------------MJL, 75 Y/O
Eh, there was something pure about this era. Before the British invasion, and then eventually the psychedelic and politically loaded music of the late 60s.
Yeah, Miss Lee was great, but her voice is NO WHERE even close to the 13 and 14 year old voice of Tanya Tucker. Also, while Miss Lee had emotion in her voice, the emotion that Tanya Tucker puts into her songs--What's Your Momma's Name, and Blood Red and Goin' Down--sets her apart as a teenaged singer.
yep i am 71 this is back in my day thank you

Her version of "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" is still the definitive one for me. Little Miss Dynamite, only a middle teen when "Sorry" debuted.

She is only 4'9". First hit at 13. She always had the huskyness voice. Is in the pop hall of fame and in the country hall of fame.
They did use it in a few adverts in the UK over the decades, so you may remember the melody from one of those.
Tremendo tema tremenda voz el otro tema de ella buenisimo es al maestro con cariño

This lady had such an awesome voice! I still have a vinyl record album of her greatest hits!
You might of heard commercials with this song playing. Brenda Lee was known as little miss dynamite.

No, not a rerecording. There is a youtube video of her first TV appearance -- at 7.
She was 15 when this song came out.

Jambalaya when she was 10 years old.
I wish Brenda Lee was my girlfriend when I was a teenager ! 👍❤️🎉
I wish I could go back in time and be her teenage boyfriend. 😅☺️
Hank Garland played Guitar on this track !
I believe she was eight or twelve when she started.

HEY, WRONG VIDEO DUDE, REPLACE WITH THE LIVE VERSION
In my opinion her later songs in the sixties where better and more modern but hey, the british invasion was devastating!
