To sing this extraordinarily well she must be an alien!
Omg she sang so beautiful. I grew up watching my grandmother listisong to this. Brings back memories
She is one of the true greats. The only female inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Country Hall of Fame, plus just for good measure, the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. She was the top selling female artist of the 1960s and the Beatles were actually HER opening act. She's still with us and doesn't get as many props as she should because she is a sweet unassuming lady. She takes her place among the early pioneers like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline.
Elvis is in both hall of fames as well..
@@davidwalker683 Yes, correct, I should have said the only female, not person.
All good...
Her performances were so great and unique that she became a cultural icon in that she is referenced in songs and movies.
Dale B thank you for that. I’ve heard her name but never heard this angel sing.
I love how you young people enjoy the oldies
Imagine 15 yrs old, live, no auto tune and other gimmicks. She had a lot of great songs, All Alone Am I, Emotions, I Want to be Wanted and so many more.
She was 15 when this song hit. She was all of 4' 9" tall.
WOW
she’s just a “add a little spice “
Little miss dynamite
She's still 4'-9". Same voice, too! ❤️
And she was only 15! She was born with her voice. That’s really an awesome and amazing voice!
They don't call her little miss dynamite for nothing. She also does "Rockin Around The Christmas Tree"
I love her version!
An ABSOLUTE STAPLE, about this time of year...
How about SWEET NOTHING'S? She was on 🔥🔥 FIRE. Ahahaha 😀
Love the guitar in that song.
Oh, I'm getting strong memories of Brenda Lee on the car radio.....'Johnny Sometime'.....
So much talent packed into such a small package, her nickname is "Little Miss Dynamite".
The nickname came not only from her voice and her size, but from one of her very first songs, titled "Dynamite". There's an absolutely adorable live video of her very young self singing it on stage.
You really got to hear Brenda lee do rocking around the Christmas tree
Itty bitty teenager with the voice of an angel. She was so amazing. Pure talent, no autotune.
Love that cute southern belle accent.
BOTH WERE GREATLY APPRECIATED
She had a lot of poise for an adolescent. Breath control and knowing how to vary her position relative to the microphone is the hallmark of someone who knows what the word dynamics means. She really had it.
What a superb voice! Beautiful and so sweet!
You should hear her sing All Alone Am I. Her vocals are out of this world.
love that one too
And "Losing you" - absolutely amazing!
My favorite Brenda Lee song.
@@jeanettesmith765 mine too.
“Sweet nothings”by Brenda Lee
I love you too so much !!!! I love to see the expressions on your faces of songs that I've been so blessed to know for years. Enjoy, I enjoy watching you to its fabulous
Finally Brenda Lee! Love love Brenda Lee❤️ (She's really sorry💗)
Incredible no words stunning powerful beyond description one of the best all time...This young girl women deserves so much more credit 10 out of 10
So old school. You have to 2-step dance to a sad song. Heard this back in the old days when I was just a child. I'll be 70 next year and it still sounds great! What memories. Thank you.
An fantastic singer
I loved this song when I was a young girl in the 90s. Absolutely loved her voice.
She sings Rockin Around the Christmas Tree. She was a teenager when she started.
She was a little girl when she started. I saw her when I was younger than her on some country music show. She just blew them away.
Way before her teens. She started performing professionally when she was 5 and received a recording contract when the was 10 or 11, in 1955. She released her 1st charted hit at 12 years old.
She was only 15 when she recorded this song!
Brenda was 16 when she sang this in 1960 ,she's got many songs 🎵, and she'll be 77yrs young next month, thanks for sharing and as always "Howdy from Texas "!!
When I was in high school I had a crush on Brenda Lee. She came to perform at our county fair. I was so excited. I walked two miles to that concert.
Brenda Lee, born Brenda Mae Tarpley, started performing at a very early age and became the major breadwinner for her family when her dad was killed on the job when she was 9 years old. She had her first hit at the age of 12 with "One Step At a Time" in 1957. She was produced by Owen Bradley, who also produced such greats as Kitty Wells, Patsy Cline, and Loretta Lynn. "I'm Sorry" was released in 1960 when she was only 15 years old.
She was feisty, tough, sweet and talented to the core. I remember listening to her as a kid myself.
Great song.
Great singer & beautiful voice❤️. I saw her & Freddie fender. At theater in the round in Houston. My husband was so in love with her. 💞💞💞💞💞. And she was so dam short,. She looked like a little girl 🤩
Love you guys for loving Brenda Lee. And she could belt like no other, too. As you can probably imagine.
Simply fantastic, such a angelic voice. 😇😇😇😇😇

Loving this songs from the 60's...You need to do The Platters and Only You.
When I was young, here in Texas, there were churches having record smashing get together. The Baptist’s around here were totally against new music and anyone dancing! I love the Platters!
Brenda Lee's Rocking Around the Christmas 🎄 has been my favourite Christmas carol since I was a little girl in the 70s. 😊
Hello from Ontario, Canada! 👋
My Mom loved this song. I love this song. Brenda Lee is wonderful.
SO GREAT TO SEE THIS GO FIND MORE SHE WAS REALLY SMALL WOMAN AND THAT VOICE IS REAL. WHAT YOU HEAR IS REAL. SHE AT A OLDER AGE SOUNDS JUST AS GOOD
Maybe during Christmas you heard a song “rocking around the Christmas tree?” That’s her.
Great singer loved her back in the day
She was one of a kind and had lots and lots of hits over the years.
All that verbal power coming out of a 4 ft 9 body
Soothing??
More like gentle, lovely, heartfelt pain.
great song
Brenda Lee -- So many memories. This sweet girl recorded this, her "signature" song in 1960. She was a really big star in the 60's. Loved that "Oh, Uh Uh Oh, Uh Uh Oh Yes." I probably will get bashed for this, but I always thought that Brenda Lee and Ronnie Spector (Be My Baby) both, altho very different had this kind wonderfully cool way of doing that with their voice. Never found out what that musical technique actually was, but it was always so distinct. Anybody else think this as well, I wonder? BTW - Love watching you guys watching our old songs for the first time. I'm sure you probably have listened to Wild Cherry's Play that Funkie Music? If not, hope you do -- one of my favorites back in the day.
The radio's playin' some forgotten song. Brenda Lee's "Coming on Strong". Radar Love!
I'm sorry, by Brenda Lee, came out in 1960. The year I was born. 👏
She’s only 12 years old… Amazing!
She is one of the greatest crossover artist ever. She was a huge country singing star who also did rock & roll music.
Her most famous song is the (1958) multi platinum song title "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree." This song is played everywhere around the world during the Christmas holidays. And it has become more popular due to being in hundreds of movies over the years. If when you go shopping in many stores during the Christmas season. This song is being played over and over again. That is how popular the song has become. It is also one of the most played songs in movies.
The song "I'm Sorry." Came out in (1960). It went to number one in both country and rock music charts. She was a small package, and a bundle of energy set to music. You can never go wrong going down the rabbit hole that this Brenda Lee. Great reaction as always...
Note: Here are some of her best songs to react to. The End of the World (1963), All Alone Am I (1963), Fool Number One (1960), Losing You (1963), Sweet Nothins' (1960), Jambalaya (1963) perform live on the Ed Sullivan Show. This song you must react to. She breaks down what Jambalaya means. She first recorded it back in (1958).
"The End of the World" was recorded by Skeeter Davis. Brenda also recorded it, but Skeeter had the big hit.
She's been singing since 1951.
That’s just incredibly awesome 😎

She's one of my favorites along with Dinah Washington, Etta James and my very favorite Timi Yuro "MY FOOLISH HEART", OMG!!!
My mother loved her music, she named me after her.
Brenda was my Mother’s era but I loved her. My Mother taught us to love her music and my Nana’s music. Then I taught my youngest daughter to love them all the way back to my Nana’s era. My baby was a singer/actor/musician. She could really sing those old ballads but she loves every kind of music. Thank you, it is so long since I heard Brenda sing.
I'm really enjoying your reactions! She also did rockin around the Christmas tree. This was her in Vegas 6 years ago singing I'm sorry. She's still got it! ua-cam.com/video/8DQzssBemJo/v-deo.html
