What's the difference between the Davis Cup in comparison to all the other tournaments that take place throughout the year could someone please explain??
He's the greatest Spanish tennis player (and arguably the greatest single Spanish athlete in general) of all time. I'm sure every player on Team Spain wanted him to play in the finals.
Nadal doesn't get to choose if he plays or not. That's up to the captain, who clearly believed that the guy who's won 22 grand slams would give them the best chance to win
If I was the Spanish captain, I'm playing him. Nadal's contribution to Spanish tennis far exceeds the price of losing one match in a Davis Cup final in order to give him a decent send off.
Team Spain can come back next year, and the next year, and the next year, and next years to come.... but Rafa, this would be your last time send him on court, representing this country.
I can see now why Rafa is retiring, he not retiring because he is recovering from injury, but his body has slowed down considerably in past 2 yrs... he is not the same person like he was in 2022 physically... and if he cannot be in top 20 and if he cannot win a Grandslam atleast once in 3 yrs there is no point for him to hang in there.... he can aswell enjoy and focus on his family and look forward to a new chapter in his life....

Wrong
Comunque negli ultimi 2/3 anni Nadal ha perso più capelli che partite. È stato un grandissimo
Watch this man closely because he is one of 'The Greats'. More importantly, he is a true gentleman and a wonderful ambassador for the game of tennis.
Botic is a very classy guy. No crazy celebration which shows his respect to Nadal....
Muchas gracias por estar en mi vida Rafael, héroe de todos los tiempos. Deportista absoluto.
What's the difference between the Davis Cup in comparison to all the other tournaments that take place throughout the year could someone please explain??
Спасибо за всё, Рафа
Se fue con sabor a Gloria
Didn't Spain have a player in better condition to play in the Davis Cup finals, or did Nadal put his retirement above that?
Do you really care for every year tournament against Rafael Nadal last match representing his country and epoch?
Thank you for everything Rafa.
Your competitive spirit No one can match. ❤ We will miss you on court. Happy Retirement
Same Rafa but slower. A pleasure to watch remembering all he did for tennis.
Thanks legendary man wonder ❤❤🇮🇳
Goodbye Captain Vamos
Grande Rafa, we will never forget you!
We will miss you Rafa💛💚❤
Never seen a player look so sad to win a match...
We'll miss you Rafa!
Vamos Rafa 💪
Thank you for the entertainment 🙏
That's a really sad moment for a Nadal fan like me. End of an era. What a fantastic career! Not seeing Rafa anymore gonna seem weird.
Legend hero of tennis in the world....respect for Nadal....
Thank you for all the great matches Nadal!!
Nadal is a real one. He could've saved this in playing a lucrative tournament. Instead, he chose to help his country win a Davis Cup.
thanks you Nadal for all
I can see now why Rafa is retiring, he not retiring because he is recovering from injury, but his body has slowed down considerably in past 2 yrs... he is not the same person like he was in 2022 physically... and if he cannot be in top 20 and if he cannot win a Grandslam atleast once in 3 yrs there is no point for him to hang in there.... he can aswell enjoy and focus on his family and look forward to a new chapter in his life....
In a couple of months Botic van de Zandschulp defeated Alcaraz at the US Open and Nadal in his last match.
Kudos.
Nobody and I mean NOBODY would have predicted that
2nd comment, Nadal in his prime 2005-2007 was seriously crazy tennis, between him and Federer the tennis world didnt have any business being that heightened.
Love u Rafa...Ur true legend❤❤
Thanks for everything Rafa VAMOS
I’m here to honour Nadal. Great respect from the Dutch.
Gracias por la inspiración, Rafa.
Respect to Botic for not disrespecting Rafa and home crowd.
Thank you Rafa...
The people being insecure on behalf of BVZ- why? It is clear that he did not feel disrespected by Rafa and the Situation , because he knows how Rafa has played and behaved for his entire career- fair. Rafa respected BVZ by playing like Rafa! Rafa respected the crowd by giving them what they wanted! Give BVZ credit for understanding the situation, and stop coping for him- he didn't ask you to.
Nadal no longer has that powerful stinger forehand.
The playing level of tennis today is higher than 20 years ago
Van de Zandschulp: the Exterminator of Spanish players.
