Edit: Looks like I've been mispronouncing Machinedramon! The Next Order dub taught me some bad habits with "Machine-dray-mon" after being out of the series for so long. :') Sorry about that! Hey everyone, A VIDEO?! Thanks for being so patient, I really appreciate it. I spend almost every evening on my Twitch if you want some more content to enjoy, or go check out some of my other recent videos! Hope you enjoy this episode, turns out I really, REALLY love Digimon.
Keep up the great work Also what your thoughts on the dot Hack//G.U. game personally i love them they have a great story that feels more and more relevant by the year. And if you like persona you my like them to
Sooo...I actually did not spoil myself on what your next video was, and decided to wait for the final release instead of watching the patreon drop. I was literally replaying digimon world while waiting for Arise to show up..... Years upon years ago, I recall leaving a trail of PINK SHIT ! In every area until I finally found the portable toilet items..... And the shit never goes away..... And Sukamon would not survive some of these areas.............
Cubix needs a revival in this day and age. Like seriously, We literally have A.I. programmable Robot Cubes that can repattern themselves magnetically LIKE SAID NOSTALGIA BOT.
Digimon as a whole is going through a micro boom. We are just about to finish the new adventure anime with a new series coming out soon. Then the digimon TCG has a new incarnation that doesn't suck and is doing quite well. And as you mentioned survive is coming eventually. I grew up with the franchise and loved and followed it so it nice to see others share that in some compacity
Yeah Survive is coming “eventually” probably in late 2022 or early 2023 because let’s face it the game is not coming out this year. I even have doubts it will come out in 2022.
emphasis on eventually. I am looking forward to it. Moreover, the vpets you've seen in this video are rather recent. Hell, there's an entire community dedicated to playing these Vpets and others. That community even made it possible to fight online with said vpets. Also, the new anime, ghost stories, features the current vpet. Though it's more of a cheap fitbit you can raise digimon on. But I love the thing still... anyway, that fitbit is ghost stories' Digivice.
Hearing the remixes of themes from back when I was just a wee little dumbo running around File Island with NO IDEA what I was doing (because I couldn't read English), gave me such a massive hit if nostalgia when I played Next Order, I think I cried? 's good
So us British nerds just have the same childhood up to a certain point, huh? Except my nerd ass stuck with Digimon. Great video, Clemps, glad to see some more love for the Digimon franchise.
I like them, except I am not a fan of their artist. Just watching how stiff and arch-backed most of the women in the game stand, esp compared to the guy charas, makes my back hurt in sympathy. But omfg the games themselves're so much fun.
I fucking love the Digimon World games, and I'm so glad you're covering them and bringing them to other people's attention. Anyone who's even remotely intrigued by these titles, *please* give them a chance! The open-world virtual pet RPG is such a unique premise that only these three games really offer, which is a shame because I think there's so much potential here. Regarding Re:Digitize, there's an expanded port on the 3DS called Re:Digitize Decode. It's the same game but with a bunch more content and two new storylines. The fan translation was recently finished, it's absolutely worth checking out if you liked Re:Digitize and want more, or liked the other two Worlds but never tried Re:Digitize.
Yea the redigitized decode is really the best world 1 type game imo while I like next order the digimon felt too pallet swaps and nowhere near as balanced feeling as decode imo
Hell yeah Digimon! I am going to share some training tips for Next Order for Clemps and anyone else interested. The only time you will actually want to train in the gym is a the very start when both your Digimon are just wee babys. Otherwise you want to train in the field. One training session is 1 hour ingame time while only really increasing one stat. A hefty time loss for little reward. Post-battle stat growth s across the board and no ingame time passes in battle! As you can see its much more rewarding per hour. At some point you won´t earn stats anymore - which means you need to move on to stronger enemys. For this method you want the Digimon you are training to be Rookie level because higher stages have less growth potential from battle increases. Which mean that *you want your Digimon to be apart in age* so that your Ultimate/Mega can train your Rookie (Rookie gets tutor bonus) Which will lead to the funny situation where you see a Rookie stronger then your Mega lol. You also earn lots of money that way.
The most unintuitive parts of Digimon World are figuring out how thoroughly Battle Training kicks the Gym out the part, and finding the incredibly important Techniques or Residents.
I had a really weird relationship with Digimon World as a kid. I loved the TV show so I decided to pick it up and to my dismay was infinitely frustrated with all of the things you mentioned. I got to the point where I was just about to just resell it, but for some reason I decided that I wasn't going to give it up. Over the next couple of months I bought the strategy guide (which almost felt necessary in hindsight) and kept trying. Over time I learned it's quirks, I got better at being more methodical in my approach, and eventually I beat the game with the Digimon I wanted. It's a game I learned to love and is now one of my favorite games. The irony is that looking back the game was kind of like having your first pet. It didn't live up to my imagined expectations, was frustrating with how much you have to take care of it, and it was unruly when you don't know what to do. But you give it some time, learn from it, grow stronger with it, and you will learn to love it.
I grew up on Digimon World, and hell if I understood the mechanics very well, but GOD did I love it to death. Getting to explore a (mostly) open world with my own Digimon was a damn dream come true, and something about the in-game graphics really holds up to me in a way? Like it was always so vibrant and varied.
I love that you talked of these games, more people need to know about them. I "legally acquired" the 3DS updated port (which the same group of crazy lads tranlated) which adds a bunch more side content, a bunch more digimon and double the story. its a great way to experience that game, anyone interested on trying the game should really try "legally acquiring" that port
My father owned a repair shop where he chiped PSone consoles, I played so much digimon world and parasite eve, brings me so much joy to see I'm not the only one who feels this much nostalgia over the digimon series.
You can still get Digimon virtual pets today. Walmart and target currently sell the 20th anniversary edition of the original pet. It looks exactly the same as the old one but with a few fixes and tweaks including the ability to not loose your save when the battery dies and even the ability to raise two Digimon at once just like in Next Order, as that was also a 20th anniversary game. They are pretty rad.
Man, the first Digimon series was something special to me - not the first anime I ever watched but the first one I would go out of my way to tune in to, even if I was out on a road trip or staying at a relative's house I would find a way to sneak off and catch any bit of the next episode I could. Tamers was even better because it was a sort of personal wish fulfillment series, I wanted so much for it to be real when I was young. XD Glad I wasn't the only one to be traumatized by Numemon's poop-eating proclivities - nothing like watching your adorable Agumon "drop anchor" on the floor, digivolve into a slug, then immediately turn around and slurp up the still fresh leavings. I, uh... never finished the game.
Thank you for covering this franchise!! Digimon World 1 and Next Order are some of my favorite games (I've been playing Next order for so long that I'm in the top 10 in the online minigame in NA)
15:53 I love that you credited the composers for this part, however the composer information for the original DW1 tracks is incorrect, I'd like to note. File City (Day) is composed by Yuko Ishii, and Event Battle is composed by Koji Yamada. Satoshi Ishikawa began to work on the series composing a few tracks for World 2 alongside lead composer Yamada, before becoming the sole composer in World 3 and World 4. However, he has no involvement with the first game.
Every few years my sister and I would always download Digimon World 1 and Monster Rancher on a PS1 emulator and play through the whole thing. These games will always hold a special place in my life
There will always be one thing that I just cannot get over from the first digimon world: It's absolutely incomparable charm in what it does. The sounds these pets make and how they have animated them all... It's great. Also, I might have missed it? But you you didn't use a guide?! You absolute madlad. But I'm happy you managed to do it and actually got more than just numemons out of it.
Playing the translation of Re:Digitize Decode after only playing Digimon World 1 as a kid at the start of the 2000s was an amazing experience. Seeing the original world I remember playing with my mother reborn in the the remaster of DW1 that is R:D was like seeing an old friend that you reconnect with as an adult after not seeing each other for many years.
I'm still not sure how it ended up in my recommends, possibly because I've been falling back down the Digital rabbit hole lately (mostly thanks to the TCG), but this video ended up persuading me to finally give the World games a go. (I count DS and Dusk as Digimon Story games, since they have way more in common with Cyber Sleuth than the OG World.) I'm currently very addicted to Next Order, so thanks! Definitely gonna check out more of your content
I played the first Digimon World as a kid and it was frustratingly good. I mostly played Digimon World 3 and Rumble Arena in my younger years, as they were more accommodating. I recently played Cyber Sleuth on the Switch and it took me lots of hours to get the Digimon I want in my party, but it was worth it. I definitely would love to play World Next Order sometime in the future and looking forward to Survive when it comes out. Hey Clemps, did you know that this year is the 20th Anniversary of Digimon Tamers? Nice video to celebrate it.:D
I only owned Digimon World 1 and I felt lucky to find a copy in the early 2000s as an Australian since there were none at the shopping centres near my house but I managed to find one in a far away store when we were picking up a relative from the airport. My experience was usually the same of getting my rookie or champion digimon killed after spending an hour or two raising and training them. Even when I went back to the game as an adult about a decade ago it was rough. Digimon Rumble Arena 1 on the PS1 is also worth mentioning as having the same art style as this game but it's a fighting game instead. Honestly I think I had more fun with that game back in the day but Digimon World 1 was a good time-waster at least.
The sad thing about Re:Digitize was that not only did we not get it outside of Japan but the fact it also got an enhanced port on 3DS with tons of additional content and changes. Thankfully the same team that translated the original psp version released an English translation for the 3DS version at the beginning of this year.
Man the OG Digimon World game was one I owned as a kid and adored/played and would watch my mom play. It was so much fun back then, but some of the later half remakes def did it better.
Somehow this video hit every synapse my dirt brain has been feeling. -Always Sunny -Psychic Pebbles -Nanaland (Binging YMS) - Digimon World, a game only like 6 other people like. Bless you Frederick Clempenstien. You helped my dumbass brain feel normal.
First point, your video reviews have greatly improved, and although I've never met you in person, I'm proud of ya Clemps. Second point, I also played the first game and without proper instruction on what was going on, I spent way to much time in the training ground without any idea of what to do. I lasted about five-six hours before giving up. After seeing that the death cycle is a consistent factor of this game series, I know I'll never touch it.
Man I remember playing Digimon World when i was little and just not getting it; I kept getting my partner digimon killed in battle and getting the cursed poop-eater over and over again. I liked the game well enough and made it to some kind of snow zone, but my 10-year-old patience had run out. I later saw Digimon World 3 on a store shelf and decided to give it a shot, and I found the more traditional RPG battles to "click" in my head and I had a blast. I spend tons of time getting the little card packs for the in-game TCG and optimizing my decks. What a good series. Great video, Clemps!
I don't think could handle the emotional tax of the "dying mechanic", so as an ex-Pokemon fan looking for a Digimon-jumping-on point, I guess my search continues. But that's not to discredit these games, because otherwise you really sold me on how cool these games are, and I wish I could experience them without that one mechanic. Though I'm aware _because_ it's a core mechanic in them, these games probably hit the perfect niche for some, and I wouldn't want them to lose that. So I'll just sit back and respect this trilogy from afar.
The Cyber Sleuth games may be a good way to start. I've not got much experience with Digimon games but I really enjoyed both of them and they're available together as the complete edition on Steam and Switch. Gameplay is very similar to Mainline Pokemon but up to 3 v 3 battles.
If you're fine emulating old Ass games Digimon Worlds 2 and 3 on the PS1 dont have the dying mechanic (World 2 is still prety hardcore in that it's a dungeon cralwer where you make gas limited runs in a vehicle into each dungeon, and fight turn based battles with 3 V 3 digimon World 3 keeps the 3 V3 turn based but is in an open environment with the step limite removed. But id honestly just go what most people recommend and try Cyber sleuth since its essentially the modern variant of those two games.
@@BaneDane_JB or he can play cyber slueth complete edition who are modern digimon rpg games that are good and is easy to find because it is in pc and switch and they help the digimon game developers
I'm gonna go along with everyone else and recommend Cyber Sleuth. Although I would also highly recommend Digimon World 3. As a digimon fan, I can honestly say Digimon World 3 is the series biggest Pokemon ripoff. It literally has you going to multiple cities to battle leaders to earn their badges while a criminal organization called the A.o.A. are doing nefarious things that become more clear later in the plot.
I have simple tastes. I see Digimon, I like video. Man, I remember playing the first Digimon World as a kid. Played it as an adult and oh boy that game is the slowest of all slow burns. I can't get over how under-powered you are at the start and having to start over after x amount of time. Vivid memories of being in the starting town and the forest, and basically nothing for everywhere else (which I feel is common). For years I could never get into the few Digimon games I could get my hands on, and then Cybersleuth came around and rocked me. Never saw a lot of stuff regarding the ones in this video, so I'll consider them at some point.
It's kind of cool knowing people my age around the world had the same childhood as me. All due to American and Japanese media. The TV screen connected us all
Next order was such a hidden gem. Spent over 200 hours just enjoying the loop and atmosphere while working to get my two sons to become their strongest
Digimon World has some insanely nostalgic memories for me. I love it to death because my friend and I played the hell out of it as kids. I remember him printing hundred page long guides from gamefaqs because he was the one with an internet connection.
There was also Digimon World Championship on the ds. You could have several digimon in there, customize your training area, and go into adventure zones to catch baby digimon. There was no adventuring though. The entire game revolved around competing in various tournaments.
Digimon World was the game I was playing with my school friends before I moved from Japan to the US. When I connected with them 10 years later, one of the first message I got was “Of course I remember you! I wouldn’t forget someone I played Digimon World with” so this game has a ton of fond memories (including getting that slug mfer over and over). Thanks for the video :)
I think I've only played 2 digimon games Digimon cyberslueth and digimon world dawn / dusk And I was absoultly fanboying when I saw my girl sayo as a character in sleuth with her partner dianamon Just kinda tickled a nostalgia bone that got me all giddy and happy to see my former character or rival in a, at the time, next gen game.
Just in case you weren't aware, there's an enhanced 3DS port of Redigitize, Redigitize:Decode, that's been fantranslated the end of 2020. Very very good of you can -legally- get it. Digimon World is one of my all time favourite series, and I'm actually giddy that you made a video on it!
Bless you, Clemps, for covering Digimon. I'll always have a special place in my heart for World 1 for being such a totally unique experience, jank and all
When your digimon dies its always a special moment, the last day the have to live i just relax in town and let them pass peacefully. No other game has me care about an actual digital monster. So epic.
Clemps you are still one of the only UA-camrs whose videos I always watch even if the subject isn’t anything I’m a fan of. Never cared for Digimon but still had to watch your video because of your phenomenal sense of humor. Keep killing it, my dude!
Cyber Sleuth and Hacker's Memory are AMAZING!! I played through both on the PS Vita and, frankly, those where my first two Digimon games and an excellent introduction to Digimon in general. Edit: oh yeah, forgot to mention... if you play the beginning 3rd of Hacker's Memory you've got the plot for SMT Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers
I know I just started the video but I really love it when Clemps has Maplestory music playing, it matches his tone and mannerisms so well and it's always soothing
Tip for newer players of either Cyber Seluth game. You don't need much of a guide for 90% of the game IF you use the ingame go to "if lost" NPC, Mirei and use the case screen. She will tell you where to go if stuck moooooost of the time. Few times where you will not quite get enough info.
I recently went back and watched Digimon Tamers. I watched the dub because how could I miss out on hearing Spike Spiegel as Guilmon, but yeah it really held up. You can tell it was written by the guy behind Lain (he sucks ass as a person) because boy howdy those last few episodes.
I tried Digimon World once, and it was absolutely not my thing but it's pretty neat. But then we have Digimon World 4 which is just an absolute nightmare
Next Order is actually really nice about desynchronized deaths. The more of a difference there is between the evolution levels of your Digimon, the more stats the younger one gets when you train, so you can use the wait between rebirths to powerlevel your reborn Digimon-- and since they'll be digivolving earlier because of their heightened stats, when the other passes away a day or two later, they'll also get benefits from their partner having already digivolved a few times so they'll be up and running together before too long, and with substantially better stats than before.
One thing I really like about the original Digimon World which I thought the sequels lacked is in the variety in how you collect the digimon for the town. They aren't all winners but it's cool how there is a shopping mini game, dodging a sniper, needing a bakemon to understand the bakemon, fishing for seadramon ect ect. Like in the sequels you mostly just talk to them, fight them and then they join which I though was a step backwards (original not perfect by any stretch though it is definitely a frustrating game lol)
Digimon re:digitize Decode it's by far my favorite and the best of the world games (imo) It has so much content, so many Digimon to get, an interesting story with 2 arcs expandind the psp version, Rina, fanservice with more of the anime characters. It's amazing! No mention in the video, but i can understand, there is no *legally legal way* to play the game with the fan made English translation.
Goddamn, Clemps just literally beating me to death with nostalgia within the first minute of this video through describing his childhood which is eerily similar to my own, showing the old SM:TV logo, watching The Simpsons at 6 (which is still true today) and talking about how Pokemon, Digimon and Cardcaptors changed his life forever, just like how I got transformed into a filthy weeb by those series; along with Monster Rancher, Flint the Time Detective, Beyblade, Yu-Gi-Oh and Samurai X (the Sony dub of Rurouni Kenshin that renamed the characters into Kenshi, Koari and Yoshi) on Channel S. The only missing here was my obsession with Power Rangers. Also, back then, I remember watching The Simpsons on BBC Two before it switched to Channel 4. Truly, watching the Simpsons at 6 is the most quintessentially British thing there is.
I got a digivice as gift from a friend for Christmas and started to raise my digimon. Hatched an Agumon that digivolved into a Greymon, but new digimon I got turned into a Numemon. So I tried to let it die by refusing to feed and clean it so I could start over and try again, when it did so did my Greymon. I couldn’t find it in my heart to reset my progress and let my digivice’s battery die out of guilt. I hold on to it as a reminder.
12:56 there’s also advance training, the mini game is harder, but you gain more stats. 15:00 actually omegamon is the original name, they changed it in the dub, but luckily they are finally using the correct one.
I watched digimon as a child and the remake as an adult but that was about it. But I don’t have a lot of patience with these kinda games, but I’m glad you had fun with it
How strange I've been obbessed with Digimon world next order for like two months I'm on my third completion. Pop it on with a podcast and it is just so entertaining
I'm so glad someone else enjoys these games. Since Cyberslueth i feel like i've been shouting at brick walls about the virtual pet digimon games (which are my fave)
Is Bravely Second: End Layer in the ‘things I’ll do later’ pile? I really enjoyed both of the videos on Bravely Default, and I’m very attached to Second, so I was wondering if it was something you’re covering sooner (like, a year or two) or waaaay later (sometime in 2035 or beyond). Love the video, by the way! Editing and script were incredible as always!
For whatever reason I didn't stick with Digimon after childhood the way I did with Pokemon, but after being burnt on that series one too many times recently, I've been wanting to try getting back into Digimon and see what all I've missed over the years! It's pretty overwhelming how much there is to catch up on now
I was always upset when I was ready to take on a boss after a ton of work and then it dies when I'm about to reach the fight. TwT (God I hope they remake this, give me dobermon!)
It was a pleasure seeing Clemps cover Digimon, especially World 1 and Next Order. Whilst my favorite game is Guardian's Crusade, I have many MANY good memories of playing World 1 with my big brother. I still remember how heartbroken I was when the MetalGreymon we worked so hard for died right out of nowhere. Digimon both the show and games much like Guardian's Crusade means a lot to me, it got me through some of the worst parts of my childhood so when I got Next Order and realized it was a sequel to Digimon World 1 hit my emotions like a 10 ton truck. Whilst I do prefer the Cyber Sleuth games because it feels like a story straight out of the show but I'll still fire up Next Order to pass time and vibe. I cannot wait to see you cover Cyber Sleuth and Hacker's Memory, I love turn based games SO MUCH and the CS games are right up there in both my favorite Turn Based and favorite games in general. Also to be fair, If one of your digimon die before the other in Next Order that CAN be beneficial since if you have say, a Champion and an In-Training II, the latter will get a bigger stat boost to help close the gap faster. Though it I can see how that can be a pain. ALSO PREACH ON THE RUN SPEED IN NEXT ORDER. Same for Cyber Sleuth I was so SO fucking happy there was a speed hack introduced in Hacker's Memory.
That's great. I didn't know you were a Digimon fan until now. So I'm just as excited to see a video about the RPG ones as well as your Final Fantasy XIV video one day. Until then, anyone else who wants in depth look to as many Digimon games as possible should check out Casp O'Saurus reviews of all the Digimon games. He played pretty much all of them, including very obscured ones like a Digimon Card game video game. Edit: Oh by the way Ramzes also did in-depth Digimon Cyber Sleuth reviews as well.
Ending Megalith theme with shit-spraying is truly a special way to do it. Great video! will totally check out these tamagotchi for boys games. Didn't know much about them. Look dope
Finally, someone I'm subscribed to talking about Digimon! I've only seen one other person talk about it, and they talked about World 1, which might be the worst in the series as far as I know.
22:54 Hate to beat a dead horse, but GIVE ME MY ADULT MODE GAMEFREAK Great video Clemps, I missed out on Digimon when I was growing up but I definitely have the same Cardcaptors and Pokemon fan origins. I had to leave for school halfway through Cardcaptors though :( Cardcaptors intro song didn't need to go that hard, but they did it for us
These world games are so addicting especially for a completionist. And as one myself, I've never gotten every digimon and their different digivolutions. Next order was a bit more forgiving, since there's two digimon to work with, but world and re:digitize were hell to 100%.
Find a friend who loves you the way Clemps loves BlueMeramon. I love the idea of playing a Digimon World game, but I also know from the fact that I haven’t gotten through one spring in Stardew Valley that I don’t have the best track record being patient with a game. But I wanna raise some beautiful digital babies, so I am down to put in the work for them.
YAY NEW CLEMPS!
Keep up the great work
Also what your thoughts on the dot Hack//G.U. game personally i love them they have a great story that feels more and more relevant by the year. And if you like persona you my like them to
Sooo...I actually did not spoil myself on what your next video was, and decided to wait for the final release instead of watching the patreon drop.

I might go back to this game after this video honestly
Thanks so much for this man! I love all of your videos, but, Digimon holds a special place in my heart, and its good to see you talk about it.
Digimon World’s cutscenes are giving me Cubix flashbacks if anyone remembers that show
Why would you dig that memory back up? lol now I feel old as fuck
Holy hell that’s a throwback. Now I’m tempering ultimate muscle and Megas XLR
I wish I didn't.
I used to LOVE Cubix. The animation did NOT hold up well XD
Yeah I noticed this too and I hope it keeps growing
Yeah Survive is coming “eventually” probably in late 2022 or early 2023 because let’s face it the game is not coming out this year. I even have doubts it will come out in 2022.
Theres also the new vital bracelets, which I'm loving. Working on getting myself machinedramon.
emphasis on eventually.
They are supposed to be making a new a story game
Hearing the remixes of themes from back when I was just a wee little dumbo running around File Island with NO IDEA what I was doing (because I couldn't read English), gave me such a massive hit if nostalgia when I played Next Order, I think I cried?
's good
So us British nerds just have the same childhood up to a certain point, huh? Except my nerd ass stuck with Digimon. Great video, Clemps, glad to see some more love for the Digimon franchise.
Clemps is not British 😂
Oh please for the love of Mommy milkers, do a review of the cyber sleuth series, it's sooooo good
I finally finished cyber sleuth last weekend with over 200 hours played, I didn't want it to end.
I cant stand all the reading 😩 im more of a digimon world guy.
I like them, except I am not a fan of their artist. Just watching how stiff and arch-backed most of the women in the game stand, esp compared to the guy charas, makes my back hurt in sympathy. But omfg the games themselves're so much fun.
@@SeraidenAF Also the artistic choice of the Eater Eve was... something. Especially the ballgag, that just felt kind of needless and horny
@@SeraidenAF god same, I neither something weird about those women I just couldn’t pinpoint it LOL
I’m so happy these games are being covered. There’s not enough people talking about it.
(Also loving the gmod Idiot box clip)
I love how you basically summed up my exact experience with the first Digimon World game.
And mine
Which mean that *you want your Digimon to be apart in age* so that your Ultimate/Mega can train your Rookie (Rookie gets tutor bonus)
Which will lead to the funny situation where you see a Rookie stronger then your Mega lol.
You also earn lots of money that way.
The most unintuitive parts of Digimon World are figuring out how thoroughly Battle Training kicks the Gym out the part, and finding the incredibly important Techniques or Residents.
Your editing and writing gets sharper every time.
Digimon World! Oh man, when I came back to this game as a jaded high-schooler had me lovingly nickname my training area, "Digimon Death Camp".
...I'm and adult and I'm totally doing this.
Dude, I loved this game and all it's confusing glory as a 10 year old. I've played 1 2 and 3. Man, so excited for this video.
2:20 you have no idea how much I love this pic Clemps because it’s a mood
Clever wording
"Watching the Simpsons at 6 0'Clock, after school..."
Dude, you sent me on a whole flashback and a half with that statement.
They are pretty rad.
i have the lilithmon themed one that came after wanted beezlemon but outta stock but lily pretty fucking fun still
Man, the first Digimon series was something special to me - not the first anime I ever watched but the first one I would go out of my way to tune in to, even if I was out on a road trip or staying at a relative's house I would find a way to sneak off and catch any bit of the next episode I could. Tamers was even better because it was a sort of personal wish fulfillment series, I wanted so much for it to be real when I was young. XD
Glad I wasn't the only one to be traumatized by Numemon's poop-eating proclivities - nothing like watching your adorable Agumon "drop anchor" on the floor, digivolve into a slug, then immediately turn around and slurp up the still fresh leavings. I, uh... never finished the game.
All that Legend Of Legaia music hit me with so much nostalgia, I'm surprised you haven't reviewed it yet.
Yeah, I was like "Wait, I know this music!", haha. Love the first Legaia game.
You covering Cyber sleuth & hackers memory are all I could ever want
Every few years my sister and I would always download Digimon World 1 and Monster Rancher on a PS1 emulator and play through the whole thing. These games will always hold a special place in my life
I was more into World 2 and 3 than 1, as they are more traditional RPGs, but I appreciated how it was very much its own thing.
(I count DS and Dusk as Digimon Story games, since they have way more in common with Cyber Sleuth than the OG World.)
I'm currently very addicted to Next Order, so thanks!
Nice video to celebrate it.:D
every time I hear Maplestory music in the background it's like a shot of nostalgic serotonin straight into my brain
This one goes out to my fallen homie Phoenixmon that got me up to the final boss but passing due to old age.
-Always Sunny
-Psychic Pebbles
-Nanaland (Binging YMS)
- Digimon World, a game only like 6 other people like.
A Digimon World Video. This is wonderful. Time to name a Digimon in Melvin's honor.
If you're fine emulating old Ass games Digimon Worlds 2 and 3 on the PS1 dont have the dying mechanic
(World 2 is still prety hardcore in that it's a dungeon cralwer where you make gas limited runs in a vehicle into each dungeon, and fight turn based battles with 3 V 3 digimon
World 3 keeps the 3 V3 turn based but is in an open environment with the step limite removed.
Get Cyber Sleuth complete, its exactly what you're after
I'm gonna go along with everyone else and recommend Cyber Sleuth.
The TV screen connected us all
Excellent news is this game released on switch last month.
Next order was such a hidden gem. Spent over 200 hours just enjoying the loop and atmosphere while working to get my two sons to become their strongest
5:21 Yeah, I hear that G note. You can't hide that from me, Clemps.
In all seriousness, great video!
You can also hear the glitched out drum track from Linkin park's In the end for like 0.5 seconds at 12:14
I love clemps
Digimon World has some insanely nostalgic memories for me. I love it to death because my friend and I played the hell out of it as kids. I remember him printing hundred page long guides from gamefaqs because he was the one with an internet connection.
There was also Digimon World Championship on the ds. You could have several digimon in there, customize your training area, and go into adventure zones to catch baby digimon. There was no adventuring though. The entire game revolved around competing in various tournaments.
Mad that Izzy and this game's MC share their English VA with Angelus.
That maplestory music in the background brings me so much nostalgia and joy.
I think I've only played 2 digimon games
Digimon cyberslueth and digimon world dawn / dusk
And I was absoultly fanboying when I saw my girl sayo as a character in sleuth with her partner dianamon
Just kinda tickled a nostalgia bone that got me all giddy and happy to see my former character or rival in a, at the time, next gen game.
Hearing a psychicpebbles voice clip in this video absolutely made my day lmao
Loved that reference to Zezima's RuneScape account. That was a deep cut hit of nostalgia.
Still buying gf. 😢
love seeing people talk about the digimon world games, they're so good :D
Just in case you weren't aware, there's an enhanced 3DS port of Redigitize, Redigitize:Decode, that's been fantranslated the end of 2020. Very very good of you can -legally- get it.
Digimon World is one of my all time favourite series, and I'm actually giddy that you made a video on it!
Wow, just found this channel. Love your writing, it has good ‘voice’.
Bless you, Clemps, for covering Digimon. I'll always have a special place in my heart for World 1 for being such a totally unique experience, jank and all
I swear I never get tired of the Legend of Lagaia theme. Makes me smile everytime
Watching this because WOOOOOOOOO SWITCH PORT CONFIRMED
Man, you gave me a massive nostalgic flashback with that clip of SMTV Live. God damn
Next Order is actually really nice about desynchronized deaths. The more of a difference there is between the evolution levels of your Digimon, the more stats the younger one gets when you train, so you can use the wait between rebirths to powerlevel your reborn Digimon-- and since they'll be digivolving earlier because of their heightened stats, when the other passes away a day or two later, they'll also get benefits from their partner having already digivolved a few times so they'll be up and running together before too long, and with substantially better stats than before.
the devil survivor artist working on cyber sleuth certainly explains why our hacker boy's outfit reminded me of the devil survivor 2 protagonist
Can't believe it was Digimon all along!!!! Can't wait to get the oppurtunity to watch! Very happy mr. CLEMPS! ❤
I've been hoping you'd cover the Digimon games, but I thought it was a pipe dream! Can't wait to sit down and enjoy your video!
Having a new video from you is always Gold.
A video about Digimon? (With a cameo of Cardcaptor Sakura?)
That's Platinum, baby.
Digimon re:digitize Decode it's by far my favorite and the best of the world games (imo)
It has so much content, so many Digimon to get, an interesting story with 2 arcs expandind the psp version, Rina, fanservice with more of the anime characters.
Between Legends of Legaia and now Digimon World, you are the only other person who has enjoyed the same obscure PS1 games I did growing up
I got a digivice as gift from a friend for Christmas and started to raise my digimon.
Digimon World 2 was my fallback game for a long time back when I was a kid, miss that one.
Someone talking about Digimon world whole legend of legaia music plays in the background?
You just got yourself a subscriber sir!
12:56 there’s also advance training, the mini game is harder, but you gain more stats.
15:00 actually omegamon is the original name, they changed it in the dub, but luckily they are finally using the correct one.
I watched digimon as a child and the remake as an adult but that was about it. But I don’t have a lot of patience with these kinda games, but I’m glad you had fun with it
YASSSS
MAH BOI BRINGING THE GOOD NOSTALGIA THAT MAKES MY BRAIN GO HAPPY HAPPY GOOD GOOD
I watch your videos so regularly this popped up in my feed like... 5 mins after u posted. Keep making content you beautiful bastard 😜
I hope Gravity Rush 2 is in that pile as well.
For whatever reason I didn't stick with Digimon after childhood the way I did with Pokemon, but after being burnt on that series one too many times recently, I've been wanting to try getting back into Digimon and see what all I've missed over the years! It's pretty overwhelming how much there is to catch up on now
A Clemps Digimon video? This is like a dream come true!!
I was always upset when I was ready to take on a boss after a ton of work and then it dies
when I'm about to reach the fight.
Look dope
Finally ! A clemp video ! Thanks God, it's gonna be a good Sunday !
Man I haven't seen you in a while but your editing became a lot better.
So did your writting good job my dude.
Finally, someone I'm subscribed to talking about Digimon!
I've only seen one other person talk about it, and they talked about World 1, which might be the worst in the series as far as I know.
22:54
Hate to beat a dead horse, but GIVE ME MY ADULT MODE GAMEFREAK
Great video Clemps, I missed out on Digimon when I was growing up but I definitely have the same Cardcaptors and Pokemon fan origins. I had to leave for school halfway through Cardcaptors though :(
Cardcaptors intro song didn't need to go that hard, but they did it for us
>Sees Rinko Iori
You, my good sir, is a man of culture.
