FILM DESCRIPTION:
Fired from the National Security Agency, Frans Balder recruits hacker Lisbeth Salander to steal FireWall, a computer program that can access codes for nuclear weapons worldwide. The download soon draws attention from an NSA agent who traces the activity to Stockholm. Further problems arise when Russian thugs take Lisbeth's laptop and kidnap a math whiz who can make FireWall work. I had a similar thought. Even with adrenaline there's no way in hell he is standing up and not screaming and crying and falling right back down immediately. Even with everyone's pain index being different.

The screen used scope is a Hensoldt 6-24x72 military scope with German made IEA mount and the little box on top is the IEA BC01 ballistics calculator. And no, it does not work like that... :D
They even put the base of the scope mount the wrong way around...

Claes Bang's character got some justice served to him. He died poisoned, limping from a broken leg, slowly but surely losing access to his sense organs (ironically in the exact same manner he described its effects earlier), unable to use his mouth to call for help - and ultimately being turned into a messy roadkill by his boss' getaway car (which in turn, ruined the boss' getaway attempt).

There's nothing as ridiculous as this and satellites won't be able to do this within our lifetimes but a lot of the components exist. Backscattering allows imaging without a detector on the other side, real-time x-ray imaging exists, imaging that produces 3D renders exists, and there are imaging technologies designed for large objects like vehicles. Hm, I think, .50-bullets in reality would tear a part of the human body into pieces.
If it impacted the body first, the round first tore through pieces of the building then hit the target, the momentum would have been slowed a bit, now the headshots no matter what velocity it would till tear through your head, but your point would have held better on the walls, .50 can tear through concrete and leave a massive hole, here he is shooting through dry wall and concrete and all thats left is a little hole.
No theyre not that powerful, unless you hit a thin part like a joint, theyve just been hyped up a lot, although a large calibre bullet can make your head look like it exploded with the exit wound, but all head wounds tend to look nasty. To tear a part to pieces it takes an autocannon round (20mm ish+) or an explosive bullet. Plus here the bullets had used a lot of if not most of its energy going through in some cases several walls with large gaps between them, they should not have been accurate like they were but its a film, the bullets shape and trajectory would change and it may tumble too, tbh that guy who was shot while trying to warn her would probably have not been hit in the first place, but also if he was still hit would only have minor injuries as the bullet went through several walls and hit his body armour which it would not have had the energy to penetrate, actually maybe it should not have gone through all the walls depending on what theyre made of.

This sniper rifle is a Barrett M107, it fires 12.7 mm shells like .50 BMG
and .416 Barrett.
I mean, these ammunitions are shells, not bullets, diameter 12.7 x 99 mm long !
This thing's gunshot sound is so large you could almost use it as a tank firing sound.
This shooter is not even half mile away, everyone around should hear the shots.
Especially as the sharpshooter is using no noise suppressor here !
And the damage effects are so high, so powerful that targets should be torn apart in pieces.
There is no way a guy could take a .50 shell in the arm and keep his arm...
A headshot with this thing leaves no head at all.
These holes in walls look like 7.62 mm bullets.
Caliber .50 shells are almost twice as large as that.
Looks like director said : "i want a big rifle on screen" and accessorist said "okay, but only on screen 'cos otherwise, movie will be classified as restricted" !

No, the bullshit here is your suggestion he had an x-ray gun. The gun, or rather the targeting optics, merely get the reticule.
If you paid attention, you would have seen there's nothing in the visor view except for target position and lead. The "x-ray" (thermal) information is processed by the computer watched by someone else who then feeds the targeting information to the gun.

More, given that the body is not evenly shaped and the force not distributed equally, in some areas, a significantly higher force would apply to the latex. And given it's not particularly thick, it's doubtful the latext wouldn't fail anyway. The slightest imperfection would also lead to tearing - and the latex has already been damaged. Plus the ground isn't clean and and any shifting of weight will further damage the latex. Ever tried to put on latex gloves and suddenly looked at naked fingertips?

I've wanted one like this for years, punching right through reinforced walls and barriers, but the catch is that the AMR weapon takes time to set up, can only bust through a limited number of objects, and has zero spotting capabilities (completely reliant on teammates to spot and mark targets). However this combined with Lion's drone ability would be far too OP.
