When people in many parts of the world are facing food insecurity, it is the duty of people who have access to safe and nutritious food and are food secure, limit their food wastage and be responsible and ethical consumers. Sustainability includes social , economic and environmental sustainability. We also need policies and governmental agencies as well as food companies that aim to reduce post harvest losses and wastage at the household level which are a major source of food wastage/ loss.

You have a good point. Americans have a propensity for wastefulness. Food plays a major role.

I just ate a hard boiled egg I made over 2 weeks ago just bc I can’t throw away $$$$$food. I pray to God it doesn’t make me sick.

@@HH-gv8mx Good for you serious. I hope you do well. I feel horrible throwing away food that is still edible. Went to Catholic school where nuns said it's sinful to waste food. I ate expired yogurt 3 months past the date. They say yogurt is spoil dairy and good for digestion.

@@user-er3ri6sc3j ha I also went to Catholic school. But as far as dairy, if it smells bad, toss it. I guess Keffir is fermented dairy or fermented yogurt isn’t it?

Do not buy Walmart brand organic salsa ! It goes rancid within 3 days of opening!

It is great to try and reduce food waste but I’m certified in food safety and a lot of this is bad advice, cutting mold off of cheese and eating It is dangerous.

Hard cheeses should be ok to cut the moldy parts off and reusing.
