Verne when Ricardo Luis caught the tipped pass: “Oh, NO!!!” Verne when Brodie got sacked for the fourth (of 11) times in 2005: “This is SAD!” Gary, as AU is pulling away from Bama in 2017, is discussing ways Bama can make the playoffs. SUCH Bama fan boys. So glad Verne is gone. Nessler is tolerable.
when craig bolerjack and steve buerlein commentated the 2009 iron bowl(which i was at btw) they were unbiased they would get excited whenever Alabama or Auburn made a gr8 play
@Sub if you are against Antifa and BLM too bad besides 2010 Auburn chokes after they beat Bama. Could have gotten a Iron Bowl national championship in 2017 if Auburn hadn't choked to Georgia
The last game at Bryant Denny Stadium before the Saban era began. As much as it SUCKS to lose to auburn, I was relieved that they beat us that year because I knew that that meant the end of Shula.
I know what you mean, blessing in disguise. They would've kept Shula is we'd beaten Auburn that year. But the next time we'd play Auburn at BDS, it would be US doing rammer jammer LOUD and CLEAR, not them doing their own version of reverse rammer jammer, as we gave Tuberville exactly what he deserved for showing his fingers to ram it down our throats. Verne was excitedly commentating during the kick 6 play .
@@ILoveOldTWC Ever since 2012, the average score in Iron Bowls in Tuscaloosa is Alabama 46 Auburn 15. Since Saban has been at Bama, we’ve beaten Auburn in Tuscaloosa by margins of 36, 49, 11, 18, 31, 29, and 22
1st and Goal Alabama. So what did Mike Shula do? The jumbo package, running it up the middle 3 times, then kicking a field goal. The entire United States of America KNEW Shula would call those plays close to the goal line.
This game is the definition of Auburn winning the battle but losing the war. After this Nick Saban is hired going to win nearly 200 games, 6 national titles, and having 3 heisman winner. Saban had more players drafted in the first round than he lost games.
Damn it. Why would you upload this haha. I couldn’t remember who won. I thought we lost because I was there and don’t remember having the time of my life. I must have blocked it out. I watched it without seeing who won and now I just relived that loss ha. That upper middle class football that Shula had us at. Watching those corners get burned all day took me back. God bless coach Shula and thank God for Saban! Roll Tide.
I was so glad when Mike Shula got fired. AU tried to be cute in between the time he got fired and Nick Saban took the head coaching position. All the interviews, making shirts saying "No I will not coach your legendary football team."
Wow shula butchered this game. Went 0-2 chasing points on 2 pt conversions early in the game with a lot of football left to play. Then burn a timeout to get the offense back on the field to not convert. Auburn hasnt had a pass rusher nowhere close to quentin groves in 15 years. War eagle.
I really liked Mike Shula. However, if Alabama had won this game, then Nick Saban may have never become Alabama's coach. It's weird how things work out.
Shula was a joke. When I watch saban coaching a team even if we're down I believe well come back and finish the game, whereas every time I watched bama during shulas 4 year span(even during the amazing 2005 year) I was always waiting for things to inevitably fall apart. He was not competent enough for that big of a job.
Listen to how Gary and Verne moan and groan when Auburn does anything good...then listen to the utter excitment for Alabama plays.
Christopher Walker the worst testament to CBS SEC announcers for the past 20 years is that everyone thinks the announcers hate their team.

"In the 4 years Mike Shula has been the coach here, the Crimson Tide has never come from behind in the 4th quarter to win." Verne Lundquist
I still believe Chris Capps was the best player Auburn had during these four years.

that's what a real team is supposed to do... if you can run 4 times and get 4 yards your team is not better than the other team period
@@Proganaut1989 We couldn't run it 4 times because it's called getting too predictable. You have to mix it up.

My how things have changed. Now it's auburn that can't win in Tuscaloosa!

It's ALL Tim Tebow's FAULT for let Alabama fired Mike Shula.
How close Bama was to getting Rich Rodriquez. If only
And mike prixce...
Is there a full length of this?

Best game ever👍
I’m as thankful that Tubberville left as I am that Saban came
Nah. TT capitalized on our probation and lack of depth...
Yeah fuck Tubberville for sure haha. That guy sucked.

Antonio Coleman. Led the SEC in sacks in 2009. Nick Fairly.
How quickly they forget that Auburn won 6 straight under Tuberville while Alabama struggled with all those coaches.
It was the serious probation that Alabama was struggling with.
Just like Auburn was under Terry Bowden in the 1990's.
We rebounded ok I think.
You think I have forgotten? Absolutely not!
