@@Departmentofnaturalresources After a couple talks with fans, a few of us think that he PLANNED to say "Do you even End bust?" and forgot to add the word End.
It was funny. 😆 For Iskall, there was like a 5-6 second pause and an uncertain "bro" which made it seem like he either meant to say something different (such as forgetting "End") or he had counted it in his head and realized he was wrong. Either way, Mumbo's cutting it out was quite humorous.
Pro tip for end busting, End cities always spawn on chunk coordinates that are mulitples of 20 so if you fly along those chunks you'll find end cities 10 times more often

Between grian talking about manifesting destiny, scar searching for somebody to breed his 5 block horse with, skizz and impulse with their "moon landings", and mumbo busting, hermitcraft doesn't feel very pg tbh, but it is really funny so I"m all for it.
And most importantly, Karales calling iskall's monolith "the compensator". I gotta watch back some of the older seasons just to check if hermits were always this blurry about being pg but I was just too young to notice back then, or is it an actually new trand
on the subject of "oh god grian, please don't call it manifesting destiny", remember in secret life when mumbo, bdubs, and pearl all tried to call their neighbourhood "the axis", and cleo (who's a teacher and so obviously knows who the axis are) was like like NOPE NO, IMA LEAVE, PLEASE DONT DO THAT
I really enjoy this teamwork u have with iskall, It does not feel like you are putting on a show for youtube but rather just enjoying the game as friends when talking together
Unpopular opinion: supras arent that cool and get way too much hype. People seem to forget that its actually a fairly average sports car when its stock. It's the driver and mechanic that make them so iconic.
Very fun fact 'unhinged' meaning like going wild or out of control actually predates the use of unhinged meaning to take a door off its hinges 1st uses in 1612 and 1616 respectively
That would be literally impossible to know as data of this kind from the 1600s is impossible to verify. Also, I don't believe this claim because it just doesn't sound likely at all. Using "unhinged" to describe someone acting out of control would only even MEAN that if we already used the word to describe the mechanical unhinging in the first place.
37:43 The most hilarious thing about the fridge story is Mumbo and Iskall mentioning how this is such a "first world country complaint" when Iskall lives in a country that historically was defined as part of the third world. For those who don't know Sweden, Switzerland, Ireland, Austria and Finland are historically considered third-world countries because they did not join NATO, as they wanted to be neutral at a time of war.
as an avid captainsparklez viewer, zoning back in to iskall saying "he had to get his butt molded" and mumbo bursting into hysterics was absolutely HILARIOUS
iskal was hardly present in all the perspectives i had watched in season 9, so now that he's showing up so much more and i can actually see how he interacts with other hermits i am just so impressed with how GOOFY he is. what a guy.
Iskall only had something like 30 episodes over the ~2 years of S9. S7 was easily double that, and S6 was over quintuple that. He definitely slowed down recently from his normal pace to focus on Vault Hunters, so it's nice to see he's re-energized and back in it.
@@meadj2 He speaks a lot about how he overcame his burnout by trying to put less pressure on planning out an episode schedule. He mentions that his second channel (Vodskall) has greatly allowed him to simply play the game, and simply upload edited videos and "behind the scenes" videos. It's great!
The 'No!" at 51:21 is legitimately the most panicked I've ever heard Mumbo. True panic doesn't require screaming. The way his voice went to the back of his throat tells it all
I'm so glad many of the Hermits are taking a more chill approach this season. Mega bases are very impressive, but what I love most is seeing them having fun together.
@@Lucas_Machado all the perspectives just feel sorta odd. This episode is really the only one I've watched so far where there was no awkwardness in the air, and I've watched Gem, Grian, and Mumbo's perspectives. It really seems like the hermits this season have not known what to say to each other, and have really just forced themselves to laugh while recording most of the time. Idk how to describe it that well, that's just sorta the vibe I've been getting from the new episodes so far.
This was so darn entertaining, one of my favourite episodes of the season so far. "A podcast occasionally interrupted by Minecraft", like another commenter said, is exactly the vibe this video gives me and it's GLORIOUS. Love the dynamic between Mumbo and Iskall, it's just great, I had tears in my eyes from laughter at one point. Also those mushroom jokes were the best. 🍄❤
When you guys started making fun of CaptainSparklez for flying to England just to get his butt molded for a car seat I was dying laughing. I've watched CaptainSparklez for ages and that's totally something I can see him doing.
I love that instead of going for insane builds so many of the hermits are just trying to hang together and make videos out of it. Brings more of the hermit community together and more entertaining than time lapses
I feel like this type of Minecraft gameplay, where you just take your time, don't rush and generally goof around with UA-camrs just talking about random stuff all the way or as in hermitcraft goof around with each other, is becoming more popular and I love it. I personally enjoy Minecraft the most while using iron tools, almost no enchants, slowly getting ungrades, building and chilling with friends
the general consensus about season 9 was that mega projects were becoming too unmanageable and hermits were getting burned out or lost in the build, so they're trying to scale back this season
Not to be pedantic or anything, but it was actually ''History doesn't repeat itself but it sure does rhyme,'' but yeah, this line perfectly fits in this context.
What Mumbo was basically talking about kinda sums up a lot of what the Hermits are doing this season and I love it so much. I love the way he explained everything was so nice and I love seeing the inside of content. I understand what he means by the way you build things and I’m glad a lot of the Hermits this year are more into “I want to hangout with people on the server because that’s more important”
Mumbo's one of my favourite Minecraft content creators ever because of how much intention and philosophy he applies to his work. The quality time is important!
The amount of unhingedness of mumbo and iskall this season is on another level of unhinged. Loving this season so far, everyone seems to love playing more than usual.
I like how the two themes of this season are: a number counter going up and "ill edit this out" - proceeds to not edit it out -edit actually three, there's also "I just did all this hard work and now its redundant"
I love Mumbo and Iskall's friendship dynamic this season. I don't think I've ever seen Mumbo be so rude, or be treated so rudely.. and I also am not sure when I've last seen him so wholeheartedly enjoying stuff lol
I love how Mumbo is stepping outside his comfort zone again this season as far as building goes. One of my favorite bases was the colorful chair-shaped mountain from season 8. We got to see so much of the decision making process and that turned out incredible.
Just wanna say, I LOVE the "chapters"!! Plus that whole aspect and the font and color choices REALLY give me a Wes Anderson vibe and I'm living for it!! XD So cool to see Mumbo's love of filmmaking and love of Minecraft come together like this
Not fancy editing, not super complicated and incredible timelapses. Just 2 very good friends busting the end & having fun. One of the most sincere Minecraft videos i've seen... very un-hinged
I might describe “unhinged” as being not attached. A door off its hinges is no longer holding anything back. Whatever thought enters your mind, you’re impulsively acting on it. Like burning Mumbo’s diamond gear. You can be bad or good and be unhinged. Sort of unpredictable, no filter, saying what comes to mind and going with wild ideas.
Thanks! I was happy I could put it to words. It was an interesting exercise to try and work out the possible connection between the slang meaning and the original meaning of the word. Like, why “unhinged” was used to describe a persons actions in the first place.
The main reason phantoms got voted is vecause phantom membranes were sold to players as a way to repair elytra before you could enchant elytra with mending. And "unhinged" is referring to the way in which a door swings when it has come partly off its hinges.
I love how this one episode is just purely a podcast with two friends talking about their lives with this calming music playing in the background. I could listen to this all season honestly
Unhinged comes from “off your hinges” similar to “off your rocker” you got it basically right, you’ve gone wild, crazy but with less of a negative connotation
"They keep calling me unhinged, and im not sure i know what it means" he says, after lighting nearly a full set of new diamond armor on fire, infront of the man who just crafted them
I really appreciate Mumbo’s natural structure to his videos this season. Almost introspective. He’s truly a veteran hermitcrafter by now, and watching his videos feels like I’m sitting down with someone wise and experienced and learning about being a creator just as much as being purely entertained. Thanks Mumbo!
i love the decently good conversations instead of everything being all child friendly and such, it is awesome to here that hermits are thinking more about how to approach content in different ways, like grian is just doing the slice of life easy going episodes wich are very appreciated compared to the very speedy content push push for the algorithm
@@Ms.L. I think it was meant more as in instead of trying to push for high energy content (which usually pulls in more younger audiences in addition to the older ones) a lot of Hermits are going more laid back and are actively not feeding the hungry algorithm with the kid magnet content that it craves
24:14 I am here with a corection, the Phantom was added because it was described like a mini-boss that was punishment for not sleeping, not a swarming mob that mostly forces you into sleeping the others where described as sutch Mob A was also a miniboss but with no clear spawn & pulled you under the water as a starting atack Mob C was a glorified beartrap/trash can Mob D was also-also a miniboss but was only ever described as a more annoying blase the Phantom was the only real choice
I think mojang was just like "Here are 4 mobs! Mob A is like, annoying underwater, B is a really cool flying mob that swarms you when you don't sleep, plus you can repair your elytra, Mob C is a green cave guy? And Mob D is just a really scuffed blaze. Have fuuuuuunnn!
Gonna be honest here "boss that punishes you for not sleeping" sounds like the worst one to me. I want bosses to be something the player can choose to seek out, not something the player has to actively take actions for in order to avoid encountering them.
It drives me nuts how people have gaslit themselves into believing the phantom was the wrong choice. We got a mob that interrupts ocean travel at random, a mob that ambushes you and *deletes items*, and a blaze with implied ranged attack resistance and a much harder attack. You can maybe justify the blaze, but saying anything else would've been better is pure insanity. It's like, you think phantoms are annoying? Just wait until you keep getting yanked out of your boat every 300 blocks, or every raid to a nether fortress takes 3-4 shields before entry! Oh that's a cool max enchant pickaxe, would be a shame if somebody just... ate it. :)

@@Departmentofnaturalresources 'Do you even bust, bro?' is a callback - he definitely meant to add it.

24:14 I am here with a corection, the Phantom was added because it was described like a mini-boss that was punishment for not sleeping, not a swarming mob that mostly forces you into sleeping
the others where described as sutch
Mob A was also a miniboss but with no clear spawn & pulled you under the water as a starting atack
Mob C was a glorified beartrap/trash can
Mob D was also-also a miniboss but was only ever described as a more annoying blase
the Phantom was the only real choice
The phantom was framed as a cool sky enemy
But was executed as a pest that annoys you into sleeping
I think mojang was just like "Here are 4 mobs! Mob A is like, annoying underwater, B is a really cool flying mob that swarms you when you don't sleep, plus you can repair your elytra, Mob C is a green cave guy? And Mob D is just a really scuffed blaze. Have fuuuuuunnn!
Gonna be honest here "boss that punishes you for not sleeping" sounds like the worst one to me.
I want bosses to be something the player can choose to seek out, not something the player has to actively take actions for in order to avoid encountering them.
I think the elytra repair was a main draw in. It’s also just a really unique thing, Minecraft has almost nothing flying mobs
Oh that's a cool max enchant pickaxe, would be a shame if somebody just... ate it. :)
