This is awesome! I went to the actual battlefield in Osnabrück Germany. The Germans call the battle “Varusschlacht”. There was a mock battle field with walls and even a miniature display of the entire Roman army with auxiliary troops. I recommend a visit!
Really brilliant concept on this channel! I think the visual representation has many advantages as to show the terrain, dynamics of scale and more. If you stay close to the source material and highlight battle details (as done here with different places and the movement of the troops), it can really give a new perspective. I wish you all the best success!

Hahahahahaha thanks Alhan. The Roman troops are made up mostly of "conquerors" and "Genoese crossbowmen", who in the "Romae ad Bellum" Mod become Roman legionaries.
In love with these videos, brilliant concept ! Small suggestion : maybe have some sort of floating name or icon for the named characters that you showcase (Like the generals, etc) ? Maybe not at all time, but when you mentionned them etc. Would make it easier to follow them after, during the battle :-) Thanks for the video as always :-)
Thank you very much Lionel. The ideal would be to be able to highlight the heroes in some more visible way. They currently have a yellow aura around them but it goes unnoticed when surrounded by other units. I have been searching if there is a mod that does this but I have not found anything. If anyone knows of one, I would appreciate your comment.
I live close the supposed battlefield. Why "supposed" till today there are many places that claim to be the offical site of the battle. Today historians think that it was not one single battle but rather ambush and hit and run on the whole collum with was stretching for many kilometers. Its said that the end of the collum never realised that the front of the collum was already being ambushed untill it was much to late. When you visit a part of the ambush/battlesite you realise why it was so deadly. The part that i visited is a bottleneck maybe 25-30 meters between the edge of the stockade/forrest and the swamp. Imagine beeing pressed into a meatgrinder by thousands of marching soldiers.
Yes, it seems that there are still doubts about the true place of the battle. And most sources indicate that it happened that way. Hopefully one day I can visit the place, as I understand there are recreations of the German palisade.
