Thanks, Sanjay. I just got my Oxygen pro mini and have been searching for reviews like this. I chose it because of the 32 keys. I'm a piano player and was looking for a compact, portable MIDI keyboard that had more than 25 keys but was small enough to carry around in a backpack.
Great to see both controllers side by side for the size comparison. I think I'm going to stick with my MPK Mk3 for its compact size, it fits perfectly in a little space left of my computer keyboard on my desk. The Oxygen would probably be too wide in my particular case. For most users, the extra keys and functionality are probably worth it, though.

Was looking into the Akai when your video popped up in my Recommends. *Wow am I glad it did.* The M-Audio Mini has everything I was wanting that the Akai doesn't, including an extra octave of keyboard!! Thanks for a great and detailed video comparison; the M-Audio is now at the top of my short list to buy.
Amazing video Sanjay! Was waiting for this comparison. The Akai MPK Mini MK3 is an excellent midi keyboard as far as portability, size, weight, knobs and drum pads are concerned, whereas the M Audio Oxygen pro mini provides much better features and functions for the same price, such as the auto-mapped DAW controls & plugin parameters, Smart Chord mode, Smart Scale mode, pitch and modulation wheels, a MIDI Output port, faders and semi weighted keys.

Hi Sanjay. Thanks! Awesome video as usual! By the way to change the velocity curve of the Akai mini mpk3 I also found the solution in a forum and I tested it. Long press the full level button for a few seconds and then use the k2 knob to change the v2 value that is the one controlling the velocity curve. Changing it from 06 to about 12 or more really changes the keyboard sensitivity. When you have done your changes long press full level again to get back to the normal mode. It is still a mystery what are the v1, v2 and v4 variables for. I’m gonna find out ;) By the way if you accidentally mess up the values these are the factory defaults: V1: 24.0 V2: 06.0 V3: 04.0 V4: 02.4 Black bal: 0.7x
The other Vn values seems to affect other parts of the velocity curve (starting from v4 for the lower velocities to the v1 for the higher velocities). The Black bal value seems to affect the relative balance in sensitivity between black and white keys. I think this is because the black keys have more mechanical resistance than the white ones.
This morning I decided that I didn't want to postpone my life anymore. And I immediately ordered Akai Mpk mini mk3 from Amazon. After 15 minutes, UA-cam recommended your video. What do you think happened next? I also ordered one M Audio Oxygen mini pro. Then these didn't stop me. I bought 2 Behringer B1031A Studio monitors. I'm so happy right now, I swear. I will sell this shitty car as soon as possible and buy myself another R6 again.
Man just woke up and chose violence. Can only imagine the amount of fun you had with such a setup. Probably gonna get m-audio some time later, how's the experience so far?
@darkvulpes4826 I think m-audio is actually better. The velocity sensitivity on Akai keys is terrible, it needs to be adjusted individually. Also the drumpad is not really good. After adjusting the settings akai is really good but m audio is also very good with factory settings.
Thank you! I just bought the M-Audio mini 32. I’m not a keyboardist per se as I’m a guitarist but I need something like this for composing and recording. The M-Audio keyboard and DAW controls are attractive to me
Ordered the M-Audio Oxygen Pro mini! Thanks for the video. Been looking at mini keyboard controllers for a while now. I’m a guitar player and wanted to be able to play around with different sounds. Preferably small keyboard 32 keys over 25 keys with decent feel. Simple integration with Logic. Drum pads, and some tools for beginners to keys. Looks like the m-audio fits the bill perfect. If I later want to learn more piano, then I’ll look into an 88-key.
I love your approach to reviewing gear. I'm new to the channel but I find it really helpful to have your perspective and your approach. You're well balanced and fair and detailed enough to really make a difference for the viewers. Keep up the great work - I really love your channel!
I have just bought an M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini from a reseller here in the UK. I tried to follow the information put out by M-Audio but the installation is a complete nightmare!!!!! My DAW (whatever that means!!) is Cubase and my platform is the iMAC with the most up to date o/s. I was able to update the firmware in th unit and download and install the Software Manager. However, when I tried to set-up the unit to run with my Cubase the instructions shown on the M-Audio site bear no resemblance to what is showing on my MAC's screen the net result of which is that whilst the "piano" keys on th unit will activate the notes when I call up Halion Sonic SE on a new track, none of the other function keys or pads work as controllers to the software. I also had installed the Hybrid 3, Mini Grand and Velvet apps but could not find any way to get the activation keys and when I started Cubase I got error messages for each application that said they could not be loaded into Cubase as they are 32 bit. Really, really fed up and frustrated by this experience and, when I try to contact M-Audio Support I get the message that my log-in is invalid despite the fact I had been through the registration and carried out the earlier download and installation. Not at all happy or impressed.
Recently frustrated with my MPK mini 2 and how mapping the pads is brutal. Watching this video and a few others has convinced me, I am getting the Oxygen. Thanks for the video!
Damn it Sanjay! Now I have to go and buy that one. I bought the MK mini and it was driving me crazy cuz I couldn't stop play configure the keys. And now.. thank you for the amazing review and advice.
This was a great review, however what I'm missing here is a brief comparison of all the software, sample packs, and other stuff software that comes with both keyboards. I will look at the full review of the Oxygen but the MPK comes with a load of things that seem to be important for beginners who want to get a decent start. I know, it's probably not gonna be long and one wants more. But it's a starter kit and it should be reviewed as such. If that's also the case for the Oxygen, the race would be much closer.
@@aster6000 actually, the Oxygen comes with exactly the same software bundle as the mpk mini (in Ilok it's even refered to as the "mpk software bundle")
@@palg8091 look at their manuals online, see if the difference in DAW controls (small difference) can swing you one way or the other, unless the Oxygen Pro Mini covers a DAW that the Novation does not Have you looked at the Native Instruments M32? Best one of the bunch, I say, unless you want the chord, arp, and scale functionality of the M-audio. Of which you can probably get better through free VSTs or built-in functions of some DAWs anyway.
Another great comparison, per usual. 2 great reviews in one. Sanjay where would producers and independent artists be without you my brother! I watch all the videos even if I'm not in the market for new gear. It's always great insight
@Sanjay C Now we need a shoot out between the OXYGEN PRO MINI and the Novation LaunchKey Mini MK3. I have the Mk3 and i'm wondering if the OXYGEN PRO MINI has less menu diving.
Still lots of menu diving on the Oxygen...BUT it depends on what feature you're trying to get to. The oxygen has lots of easy to access buttons so it makes it easier.
Menu-diving? Try a Roland JD-Xi, Novation Mininova, or Korg Kross2, now THAT's menu-diving. Oxygen Pro has nothing at all in comparison. Extremely simplistic and shallow menu structure, too, unlike those very complex lone performance keyboards.
Thanks for your review sanjay! I was about to get a mpk mini but i just ordered the oxygen pro mini instead. Hope it works well with reason! Appreciate you bro.
Just need something to sequence basic drums and reggae chords for my home studio - doing everything else with live instruments - but still, wasn’t really sold on the MPK Mini. Perfect breakdown Sanjay, thank you sir
So you know. I'd ordered the Akai from Amazon and saw this video. Was able to cancel the Akai and grab the oxygen mini 32key instead. Thx for the heads up. It arrived today. Couldn't be happier.
I want to get into music production, but I only had the MPK Mini Mk3 as an option for my budget and desk size... this video gave me another option, and after watching this video, I think I'm going for the Oxygen Pro Mini
It's funny how pre-mapped presets are selling points these days. I remember programming the controls for DAW manually (which was a pain, of course). I mean I also don't like to invest time into programming a device, all I want is to plug and play the thing. So it's not a complaint, more like an observation.
Things like mackie control and preset configurations are great. Especially if you're moving between one DAW to another, but you can't beat a custom script. Yeah, it's time consuming, but, for me personally. Having to barely use the GUI in my DAW at all is very nice. As there are no limitations to what I can and can't do. Where MC and brand assigned presets have there limitations. Mind you, I am using a full control surface along side a launch key mini for scene control.
Logic settings issue with the faders. I had a Hammer 88 Pro - too may issues, though the keybed was fantastic. And M-Audio support was great. i went with a Novation 88, but wanted a small desktop controller. I just bought the Oxy Pro Mini and couldn't be happier. I needed faders for orchestral sample control.
Damn! My Akai mini is arriving tomorrow and I'm not even going to take it out of the box. Super sold on the Oxygen all do to everything you mentioned. Thank you so much for your insight. P.s. I might just keep the Akai mini for my 5 yr old son. Seems more fitting for a child anyway. Thanks again!😁👍
I still use the M-Audio Axiom 25 that I got in 2008. For DAW control, Bitwig, I prefer keyboard and mouse. That new M-Audio looks pretty good. I'd like to get that as a Christmas gift from my wife.
I had the M-audio CTRL 49 (Loved the big color screen) and the Akai MPK Mini MK3 but sold them to get the M-audio Oxygen Pro 49 and Mini. M-audio discontinued the CTRL 49 and some of the features (VIP support) stopped working. I got the Oxygen Pro Mini for more keys plus Studio One support for DAW control (Transport and Faders). I do like the playable feel of pads on the MPK mini but like the color options of the Oxygen Pro Mini.
Watching these videos makes me wish arturia refreshed their Minilab, I have been holding back on buying a midi keyboard waiting for them to release a new version
For anyone considering, there is a large issue with the Oxygen pro - the pads. Just sold the Akai and got the M-audio. Oxygen pro pads don't recognise fast touches at all. It recognizes softer touches well but if you drum a bit faster - no matter the velocity, it does not trigger the pad. This was not an issue with the Akai. Also some software issues with keys sticking in chord mode and I would say the general build quality is questionable (rattling keys and buttons). I'm not sure if I can recommend it.
I wondered if anyone else had this issue with the pads overloading on fast touches. Its a real bummer because I like everything else about it. Probably gonna send it back for this reason.
2:57 could U share a little of how well this midi works with these other daws cause I've read that it only makes sense with full version "pro tools" and "studio one". Please helps others know what to believe, thanks Sanjay may God Bless you.
this video made me buy the oxygen pro but i had no idea how diffuclt it would be to set up the drum pads onto fl so each pad plays a different sound instead of the same kick in a different pitch and the fact i cant even find a tutorial from anyone doesnt help. if anyone knows how to help id really appreciate it because i only got this for the drum pads.
I have both, and basically I prefer the oxygen. But in Ableton Live, when I manually map a knob or a fader, it doesn't overwrite/replace the previous automatic mapping. So it map 2 features at once, and this is a prbolem. Anyone knows how to solve it?
Oxygen Pro Mini does not work properly with GarageBand. Can't use rec/play, faders etc. That's because Pro Mini does not have preset for GarageBand, but other keyboards from Pro series have it. Has anyone managed to create custom preset that will work with Pro Mini + GarageBand?
Literally bought my mk3 mini two days ago but now I'm re-thinking my decision. I'm honestly very new to the world of music hardware and still somewhat new to the .ore advanced workings of FL Studio. I'm really just looking for a place to start since I'm teaching my self.
@@narutoso111 I ended up keeping the MK3 since I found a template that worked pretty well for it. I recently sold it and bought the Novation FL Key mini though. Still learning how to use it though.
I noted that your cord is half protruding out of the Akai. I had a similar "not fitting" annoying cord problem with the very cheap feel, easy key break Akai mini midi I had years ago. These are several reasons I did NOT go Akai this year.
Hello, I have Akai MPK MiniPlay Professional . Unfortunately, it is impossible to write in memory the songs recorded so that later the whole, i.e. music, comes out. I also have MPCBeats and it doesn't work either. I use Akai MPK MiniPlay with Analog Lab V or sometimes Analog Lab4 . In addition, I also have the MIDI controller Arturia MiniLab . When I am to play on both controllers, then I include both AnalogLab separately in Arturia and Akai. I don't use DAW . For some time I have been recording music directly in Audacity (new version) Unfortunately, it still does not support VST plugins.
had a friend who let me borrow their Mpk mini two different times for a mini project....I can be honest when I tell you that I was not a big fan of it. Every m-audio midi I have ever used has done a great job doing what I need it to do, and now that this model exist I know what my next purschase is :)
mk3: just don't. it is extremely sensitive both the keys and the pads but you cannot control touch sensitivity (confirmed by googling and reddit novation answer). also the arp while versatile is sometimes falling over its feet. would sell mine instantly were it not for the mini form factor. but would never buy it again.
@@Eleni_Be well, I spent a lot of time choosing my midi. Finally choose akai mk3, and it's good. Can control sensitive of keys. did not take Novation because it was flimsy and small pads. and Arturia is just old, albeit very good. Joji also used akai mk2, this also influenced the quality and trust of my choice;) I also was choosing between the new oxygen 49. then I realized that I don't write midi patterns so often and I don't go somewhere too often. I still doubt whether I need a big one, though 2 months with akai, because I will soon be switching to a new macbook, and then I can leave the house more often
Great review. I was looking at a portable keyboard for my iPad and was considering the novation mini mk3. I have a Launchkey pro 37 which I love so figured I'd just stay in the family. These are both about the same price point and was also looking at them so it's good to see pros and cons of these as well.
Hey Sanjay.. On the Akai MPK mini MK3, Click on full level for few seconds. You will see v1, v2 etc on display. Then you can change the knobs to change sensitivity. Found this in a forum.. i dont know , i feel there may be other un documented features
It’s true I also found it in a forum and I tested it. Long press the full level button for a few seconds and then use the k2 knob to change the v2 value that is the one controlling the velocity curve. Great video! If you’re going to do the larger Oxygen 25 key version, if you can, you should also compare it to the Akai MPK 25 which has better keys and features than the Mini.
I have so much trouble getting a consistent pad velocity on Akai MPK mini mk3. I have midi anxiety now lol. I always have to come back with the mouse to drag my velocities. in Akai, The black keys on it are tougher than the white. Ugh! Reason why I looked for a video like this.
I’m looking for something that will allow me to make basic background music for my physics videos using Logic Pro X. The oxygen looks good. Great video, thanks.
i know this is really stupid, but where did you get those balls, they look grat fro squishing and fidgeting. Btw I plan on asking the oxygen pro mini for x mas. my final decision always end up on this channel, your really reliable. THNX
I am in for MAUDIO. Midi out jack and 12 presets of fully configurable CC is a winner. I can acces Volca Sample and model Cycles, or any other from one controller. It is less intuitive tha LaunchKEY mini MK3 but i am going to take the effort.
One thing nobody talks about when choosing a micro-key controller is the black keys and the design of the plastic surface at the top of the keys where they hinge. I have an old M-Audio keystation and the plastic surface is perfectly level with the white keys, that means when you play a nasty big 4 note chord your fingers can hit every note easily because they can drift further over the black keys and still keep the key depressed. Your flat second knuckle can keep the note down while the tip of your finger rides freely over the plastic surface behind the keys and doesn't hit any buttons or keypads. Something like a KORG microKEY air (that i purchased because it had 61 notes) has a raised surface at the back compared to the white keys and it's a bear to play big chords because fingers hit the plastic at the back of the key, So hopefully M-audio will make a similar 4 octave version of this?
I had to return AKAI Mini3 because it was impossible for me to figure out how to play. Their support is non existing. Spent 2 weeks trying to contact them but unable. I will try Oxygen. Hope it is easy to figure out how to use it.
I went for the Oxygen Pro mini, but the faders and transport controls do not work with MPC software. You can map stop, play record but not FF and rw. You cannot map the faders at all in MPC software either, so they are redundant. So, looks like the Akai is rubbish at default mapping for DAWS but so is the Oxygen Pro mini ( for MPC software anyway). The crazy thing is that the op mini no longer comes with pro tools, but MPC as the main DAW software. You'd have thought they would ensure all the controls mapped out of the box, but no. I am now wondering whether to return and go for the Akai as I am guessing it will work with MPC software better
I bought the Oxygen Pro 61, I wanted the touch sensitivity and the DAW control for Ableton. The acitities on the Pro is better and easier to operate/programme than my older Oxygen 49 Key.
Checking out your offers - trying to... not seeing a way to get a preview listen to hear what it is and whether it fits. Interest in Friday Night Sample Pack and Sanjay's Rhodes
From personal experience (I have the mkii akai), anything beats the akai, I personally would recommend the Alesis v25 or vmini instead of the akai .the Alesis v line has simpler controls similar to the akai, easier for beginners, although the m audio looks great for someone who is more serious. The akai just has bad software and the keys feel horrible, and overtime, develop what I call 'phantom notes' when a key acts like it's still held down even when you have let go. Thanks for the video Sanjay!
The Mk3 is a huge improvement over the Mk2, though (I've owned both). The keybed, pads and knobs are all hugely improved. Even the plastic case feels sturdier. On the Mk2, the plastic keys themselves act as fulcrum. The keys bend to provide the "spring" force and resistance, and they're prone to snapping off. On the Mk3, the keys are properly sprung and feel more solid (though they're still small and quite thin).
@@JimmiG84 Oxygen Mini's keys are also thing, though fully mechanical, unlike the Axiom Air Mini with its bendy keys. NI's M32 has the best keybed of the bunch, though.
I think it also has preset midi mapping for garageband, so if you select it, the knobs and faders should control the most convenient parts of the DAW that you will use often. Though this can be easily configured
Question everyone that purchased the Oxygen Pro Mini because of this video: I got mine, did the firmware upgrade to 2.15, but now it looks like the keys are sticking on the VSTs. Does this happen to everyone or is it just my unit? Sometimes when I press some chords and release the keys, the software doesn't detects it and stay on. This doesn't happen with none of my other midi devices (Keyboards, controllers, etc.) only with the Oxygen Pro mini, I sent an email to support, but haven't heard from them yet.
What's not so awesome is that both products are made by the same parent company, inMusic Brands. Sometimes I feel the consumers are shortchanged due to the fact inMusic Brands owns so many brands.

Looks like the m-audio fits the bill perfect. If I later want to learn more piano, then I’ll look into an 88-key.
Thanks! Glad you agree with me!
Bro how is the m audio pro mini now?
Thanks for making me go in the direction of the oxygen pro mini. Portable, cost and options available are the deciding factors for me.
this is the comparison that I've been waiting for! love this! 🤟😎
Glad you liked it!
DAW is a digital audio workstation and is the program you use to make music
Recently frustrated with my MPK mini 2 and how mapping the pads is brutal. Watching this video and a few others has convinced me, I am getting the Oxygen. Thanks for the video!
Anytime
Damn it Sanjay! Now I have to go and buy that one. I bought the MK mini and it was driving me crazy cuz I couldn't stop play configure the keys. And now.. thank you for the amazing review and advice.
haha! Glad to hear that my video helped you out!
The Oxygen comes with a bundle of software too though..
@@aster6000 actually, the Oxygen comes with exactly the same software bundle as the mpk mini (in Ilok it's even refered to as the "mpk software bundle")
thx sanjay u rly make everything clear!
I just bought the Akai MPK Mini MK3 and i love it!
That's cool!
It’s a dude that made a template for the mpk it makes the keyboard works exactly like a mpc
Could you please do a comparison between Oxygen Pro Mini, Arturia Minilab Mk2 and the Novation Launchkey Mini Mk3?
Would love this.
Yes please, exactly what I need.
He already did minus the oxygen. He's saying this is the best budget "mini" keyboard
Hi Sanjay, yes I am going to get a midi, and I am vascillating between launchkey and oxygen pro mini... It'd be very helpful, thanks
@@palg8091 look at their manuals online, see if the difference in DAW controls (small difference) can swing you one way or the other, unless the Oxygen Pro Mini covers a DAW that the Novation does not
Have you looked at the Native Instruments M32? Best one of the bunch, I say, unless you want the chord, arp, and scale functionality of the M-audio. Of which you can probably get better through free VSTs or built-in functions of some DAWs anyway.
Thanks for the detailed comparison review of the Oxygen Pro Mini.
Another great comparison, per usual. 2 great reviews in one. Sanjay where would producers and independent artists be without you my brother! I watch all the videos even if I'm not in the market for new gear. It's always great insight
I appreciate the support buddy!
Can't wait to get it! I have been using studio one artist 5 and really like it!
Nice!
You're welcome! 🙏
I want to get into music production, but I only had the MPK Mini Mk3 as an option for my budget and desk size... this video gave me another option, and after watching this video, I think I'm going for the Oxygen Pro Mini
Nice!
Mind you, I am using a full control surface along side a launch key mini for scene control.
awesome review ! thank you !
Is M-Audio Oxygen pro mini not compatible with Garage Band?
Great review. Subscribed!
I think the m-audio lights are cool. 🔥
I still use the M-Audio Axiom 25 that I got in 2008. For DAW control, Bitwig, I prefer keyboard and mouse. That new M-Audio looks pretty good. I'd like to get that as a Christmas gift from my wife.
Well... Today is Christmas, did you get it?
Whatever you use that you can understand and get your ideas off the way it sounds in your mind is what you should use
True
Thanks man. This is good stuff 🌝
I just ordered the oxygen pro mini your video made me choose that
Watching these videos makes me wish arturia refreshed their Minilab, I have been holding back on buying a midi keyboard waiting for them to release a new version
Yes! That would be great
Refreshed ...?
@@ColtraneTaylor or a new version
Thanks for the video, I'm having issues setting up my M-audio oxygen pro mini in Cubase. Can you make a video on that please 🙏🏽
I always ask to myself how tf can you keep your studio and your gear so clean and perfect
2:57 could U share a little of how well this midi works with these other daws cause I've read that it only makes sense with full version "pro tools" and "studio one". Please helps others know what to believe, thanks Sanjay may God Bless you.
I've tried it with other DAWs including Ableton Live. It works fine. You have to do some setup steps, but it works
@@SanjayC Great thanks again Sanjay, thats an ice-breaker 👍
I just got my mpk used for $40. Im happy with it.
Bro this video is only 8 minutes and it is exactly what you need to know. Thanks 😊
Akai was the only keyboard being sold in the store close to my home.
What about online?
this video made me buy the oxygen pro but i had no idea how diffuclt it would be to set up the drum pads onto fl so each pad plays a different sound instead of the same kick in a different pitch and the fact i cant even find a tutorial from anyone doesnt help. if anyone knows how to help id really appreciate it because i only got this for the drum pads.
I have both, and basically I prefer the oxygen. But in Ableton Live, when I manually map a knob or a fader, it doesn't overwrite/replace the previous automatic mapping. So it map 2 features at once, and this is a prbolem. Anyone knows how to solve it?
Idk can you save it as a user preset? Or is there a way to configure it in any accompanying software app?
Oxygen Pro Mini does not work properly with GarageBand. Can't use rec/play, faders etc. That's because Pro Mini does not have preset for GarageBand, but other keyboards from Pro series have it.
Has anyone managed to create custom preset that will work with Pro Mini + GarageBand?
Literally bought my mk3 mini two days ago but now I'm re-thinking my decision. I'm honestly very new to the world of music hardware and still somewhat new to the .ore advanced workings of FL Studio. I'm really just looking for a place to start since I'm teaching my self.
how did you decide? Im starting too
@@narutoso111 I ended up keeping the MK3 since I found a template that worked pretty well for it. I recently sold it and bought the Novation FL Key mini though.
Still learning how to use it though.
@@JWS218 Thanks for your fast answer :)
@@narutoso111 No problem. Hope you find the right controller for you.
We need an updated best budget midi keyboard list
Every m-audio midi I have ever used has done a great job doing what I need it to do, and now that this model exist I know what my next purschase is :)
next: OXYGEN PRO MINI and NOVATION LAUCNCH KEY MINI MARK III Please!!! I use logic but I can't decide
bruh, mk2? not even 3?
mk3: just don't. it is extremely sensitive both the keys and the pads but you cannot control touch sensitivity (confirmed by googling and reddit novation answer).
also the arp while versatile is sometimes falling over its feet.
would sell mine instantly were it not for the mini form factor. but would never buy it again.
@@Eleni_Be well, I spent a lot of time choosing my midi. Finally choose akai mk3, and it's good. Can control sensitive of keys.
did not take Novation because it was flimsy and small pads. and Arturia is just old, albeit very good. Joji also used akai mk2, this also influenced the quality and trust of my choice;)
I also was choosing between the new oxygen 49. then I realized that I don't write midi patterns so often and I don't go somewhere too often. I still doubt whether I need a big one, though 2 months with akai, because I will soon be switching to a new macbook, and then I can leave the house more often
I'm starting my production journey soon and I need a midi controller...I'll use Ableton...so should I go for oxygen pro mini or arturia minilab mk2
@Jose I'm also gonna buy this soon, best wishes for your journey bro :)
do not get the minilab mark 2, get novation launchkey mini mk3
Great review. I was looking at a portable keyboard for my iPad and was considering the novation mini mk3. I have a Launchkey pro 37 which I love so figured I'd just stay in the family. These are both about the same price point and was also looking at them so it's good to see pros and cons of these as well.
I got the m-audio one because it got those sliders which can be useful for me
oh you did exactly what I was hoping you would do, aside from also comparing with the Arturia Minilab joint lol
Maybe a future video!
Changing it from 06 to about 12 or more really changes the keyboard sensitivity. When you have done your changes long press full level again to get back to the normal mode. It is still a mystery what are the v1, v2 and v4 variables for. I’m gonna find out ;)
Thanks so much for this!
Great video! If you’re going to do the larger Oxygen 25 key version, if you can, you should also compare it to the Akai MPK 25 which has better keys and features than the Mini.
I'll check it out!
Fader fix for Logic - from Thomas Roscoe ua-cam.com/video/OgMIVrmsJB0/v-deo.html
Was that the only issue with Logic?
i know this is really stupid, but where did you get those balls, they look grat fro squishing and fidgeting. Btw I plan on asking the oxygen pro mini for x mas. my final decision always end up on this channel, your really reliable. THNX
Hej😀. What's the deal with Garageband?
Does Oxygen use battery power
Look neat! I think they missed a gap in the market by not providing preset MIDI mapping to Garageband (iOS and Mac). Or do they...?
This may actually work with Garageband, but I haven't tested it
I wished this video came out a day sooner. I just bought the MK3 yesterday. Now I wished I had bought the oxygen mini
Me too!!! Oh nooooo
Return it
Does it work with GarageBand?
I am in for MAUDIO. Midi out jack and 12 presets of fully configurable CC is a winner. I can acces Volca Sample and model Cycles, or any other from one controller. It is less intuitive tha LaunchKEY mini MK3 but i am going to take the effort.
Will it work with.GarageBand? thx
Something like a KORG microKEY air (that i purchased because it had 61 notes) has a raised surface at the back compared to the white keys and it's a bear to play big chords because fingers hit the plastic at the back of the key, So hopefully M-audio will make a similar 4 octave version of this?
hey Sanjay , When is the studio tour coming out ????!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you, you helped me a lot choosing my first midi controller! the oxygen pro mini cost just 10€ more than the akai so it's a deal!
How do you get the ideas to design your work space? Pinterest? I really love the way you have man. Pure aesthetic
THANK YOU!!! I’m literally about to go buy a compact midi before heading back to college.
@@JimmiG84 well thats good to hear!
@@JimmiG84 Oxygen Mini's keys are also thing, though fully mechanical, unlike the Axiom Air Mini with its bendy keys. NI's M32 has the best keybed of the bunch, though.
Is not Oxygen Pro Mini compatible with Garage band?
Yes, like pretty much any midi keyboard/controller. All it's doing is sending MIDI info to the DAW.
I think it also has preset midi mapping for garageband, so if you select it, the knobs and faders should control the most convenient parts of the DAW that you will use often. Though this can be easily configured
@@gw2156 thank you so much for the reply :)
Awesome 👍🏻
Thanks!
What's not so awesome is that both products are made by the same parent company, inMusic Brands.
Sometimes I feel the consumers are shortchanged due to the fact inMusic Brands owns so many brands.
