Great walk through and very skilful doing it holding a beer. True Aussie style. I’ve been in the automotive electronics industry since…. forever. Lotus IMHO are the best off the shelf vans available, so I bought one.
Just stumbled up your channel and I dig your guys sense of humour and the fact that you always have a beer in your hand. You are not hiding who you are or what you like. Keep up.
Just stumbled across this channel and I must say- love it. So real and just realistic about how we actually feel when travelling. Alot of "epic" info that helps. Specific details that eliminates alot of questions that I had about different caravans/experiences. Well done guys, everyone should share this fabulous channel. About time we get some real, live action with a hint of corona and wine! Keep it going 👏 😀
Another great review cheers We’re leaning towards keeping the full oven as well as a Webber Ditching the microwave Lots of solar and 400w minimum lithium 22 is getting up there weight wise Not sold on the mid bathroom 🤔🤔 Cheer, looking forward to your next episode 👍👍
Hi Karl, overlooked your comment - sorry! I'm 6'2". The bed has a fold over foot of mattress at the head end, unfold it and pull out the extension bar at the feet end and you fit. Most beds now have a bar to pull out at the end so you can pull the mattress down, fill up the head gap with pillows and have your bed long enough. We better show and discuss this in the next episode! Thanks for the question.
An LC200 has a payload ranging from 600kg to 650kg, if you do the maths add the roof rack 60kg, bullbar 100kg, awning 20kg, fuel 120kg, passengers 180kg and tow ball mass 350kg, you are over your GVM without a doubt.
With towing using a stock 200 LC for that mother weight wise I would say you would be over legal weight. A stock Cruiser has only aprox 630kg load capacity Subtract the accessory weights including the tow bar and a belly full of diesel plus tow bar 350kg tow ball down load passengers luggage you would have spent the lot. In stock form Land Cruisers are a poor choice for weights.
Correct - they are one heavy caravan for sure - we took it away with nothing in it practically to even get near the weight requirements. Lucky we've done a few tweaks since then!
Basically the van is too heavy. Even though you say the GTM is 3800kg. That figure is only relevant for tow vehicles such as a Ram etc with 4500kg tow ability. All of the other vehicles such as LC are limited to max tow weight of 3500kg. That in reality only 500kg or less for goodies to load in. That's not much in a real world scenario.
Yes, you need a truck. See what we say here about the Lotus - Episode 16 - Pros and Cons - 10 Vans in 10 minutes ua-cam.com/video/t_f3q9TcAYg/v-deo.html
I enjoyed the video, it also sets a good example of why you don't lend or rent your van out, I am sure it was all unintended, but as a caravan owner watchin the flushing the toilet without opening the flap 😢, ending up with broken keys 😮 and being a little bit ungentle with the van during the demo was slightly painful to watch 😬.
Haha, yes and we looked after it! I can imagine those taking a van out and not taking any care or those being unaware van renters. Any appearance of not caring was certain unintended that’s for sure. Thanks for commenting!

Now we’ve seen many different ones you may well be correct!

No pretending here! Cheers!

Very similar setup to out Franklin CX22 Club, love the layout :)
Another great review cheers

Thanks! Yes I love an oven too - must have for us.
Thanks, we have a Freelander they are a great bit of kit.
We were impressed!
@@caravansbythecampfire Ours is one year old and they have improved on the one in the video. They are a quality build. Thanks again.
Camp in the southern states in winter you need a generator unless hooked up to mains power
Time to explore 48 volt systems in caravans full steam ahead. Having an emergency generator is a good idea.
Just found your channel. Saves us from doing the same. Question how tall are you. The bed looked small

I would have thought a 200 Series Landcruiser would be quite easily overweight towing such a heavy van.
We couldn’t load up this van so we could be under the car gvm. Fully loaded you’d need another car or a gvm upgrade for sure.
