We moved from the city to the Macedon Ranges in January and started to feed the 3 magpie family that spend most of their day on our property, now up to 5 Kookaburras the friendliest is called Kooka of course. Beautiful Rosellas and a few King Parrots who like yours are less timid than other parrots, I plan to have them jumping all over me by summer. Thanks for your lovely videos, no better people on the planet than Anipals 😊 You girls deserve your very own home like this, I hope it's soon 🙏
Aww that's amazing 🥰 we have a kookaburra and call him Kooky 😅 he recently brought his girlfriend to visit but she's super shy. There are a few magpies, currawongs and lately heaps of Bower birds. I heard a Bower bird mimicking the kookaburra 🤣 I'm seeing more rosellas too! I'd love to live in our own home, unfortunately I can't find work so on one income it probably won't happen soon - the house prices have skyrocketed too! We are happy here for now anyway so hopefully one day in the future. I'm sure the king parrots will be jumping all over you in no time 🤣 I have found they visit more in winter compared to summer, so now is a good time to earn their trust 😊
Great job on helping the Kong parrot. I have a pet king parrot named Kingsley. He is the best pet bird that I have ever had. It's amazing to see all the wild king parrots, cockatoos and rosellas in your backyard. I am in Canada and don't have wild parrots. I see mostly sing birds, corvids, raptors, waterfowl etc. You are so lucky to see them in the wild, I would love to see that. Take care
Aww! Thank you and say hi to Kingsley, I watched your videos to learn more about caring for birds so thank you for all that you do! We are super lucky here in Australia with the wild parrots, they are pretty amazing 🥰 Only issue is the Cockatoos can be very destructive to our house 😂 I would love to visit Canada one day.
We bought a king parrot breeding pair from a shop here in the UK. Didn't like how they were being kept in the shop and had to buy them. Since they were both adults, they have retained quite a bit of what I would say wild traits. It's clear our birds do miss company of their own species. The male (choco) is often sitting by the mirror. Otherwise they're both quite playful. They are the highlight of our lives and bring so much joy.
Exactly the same symptoms with one I found, as if it’s a genetic shoulder problem, ‘ours’ can fly only very shortly until he holds his wing as if in pain, ‘Harri’ now has a human vocabulary and is 5yrs old
so nice so cute and very kind story... Jessica you have a kind heart for animals I m very glad to see that. .. and I also have very very kind heart for animals, and I love parrots..,, he likes to chew your neck less hahaha that was so cute sweet,
Well done girls great job and what a great story. I've fed wild King Parrots and had a few hand raised pets over the years, they sound aggressive sometimes but it's all show they are the gentle giants of the Australian parrots.
Well actually I kind of just winged it! I got a wooden dolly with wheels and some metal brackets to screw into the base and attach the branch. I found the branch outside from one of the eucalyptus trees and attached a couple more branches with screws and rope, then found a seagrass doormat from Bunnings as well and used it as a climbing frame!

You girls are legends.

Hi,
I'd love to know more about the branch roost you made. Do you have a video on how you did it at all? It looks like bird paradise.
