Surprising Bird Release Takes Unexpected Turn

  • If you were a bird, what would you do?
    This was last year's most-liked video by our Patrons and the UA-cam memberships community. Remember those baby goslings that we saved from the ice last winter? Well, after 5 months they were strong enough to be safe on their own. So it was time for their release, which took some surprising turns...
    I hope you'll love it as much as I did. These are the best days when taking care of animals!
    For those of you that have already seen it... you are making a difference in my life. Since you have started to support me, I have been able to help more animals and make more videos than I have in the 4 previous years combined. Without your help, it would just not have been possible to do this. Thank you so much.

      Good intentions, very good. Respect for that.
      However, it's an invasive species and they hurt the local eco-system;
      The Egyptian goose has been on the European Union list of invasive exotics since August 2017. Among other things, a bird species on this list may not be sold and kept. In addition, Member States are obliged to detect, remove or, failing that, manage populations present in nature in such a way as to prevent spread and damage as much as possible.

Over time no doubt they will learn to savor being back in a more natural environment... but perhaps come to greet him when he visits--& eventually bring their offspring to meet him & his offspring! It's such a beautiful thing when people can be a "bridge" for dislocated animals back to their rightful place in nature, & do so with such tender gentleness to minimize their trauma. Thank you again, Alwyn... & thanks also to his community & every other around the world that takes active steps to rewild land wherever possible, as a "springboard" for many different species' reestablishment.

    I visited them often, which was a lot of fun as the remembered me and went crazy when I pulled up in my car.
    The babies got to know me too.

    • @rosiehawtrey
      @rosiehawtrey 2 роки тому +5

      That sounds slightly more than appendicitis - more like a burst appendix and resulting peritoneal complications. Glad you're OK though.
      But if you are still tired after a month or so go back to docs and request an abdominal x ray. The appendix can collect rubbish from the digestive system and sometimes that can be cancerous/pre-cancerous cells. You look young and that can make things worse (high hormone serum levels).
      Probably nothing but it's better to be sure.

    • @rosiehawtrey
      @rosiehawtrey 2 роки тому +8

      @@senrioflove Go back and *demand* an x ray and tests. You shouldn't have pain this long afterwards and I can think of two possibilities. Either nerve damage from a ham fisted surgeon (which might rectify itself, especially if you are getting occasional stabbing pains which are the nerves reconnecting) or something much more serious. Do it as soon as you can. You are being fobbed off by doctors, because phantom pain is not something you often get with the autonomic nervous system - it's more from limb amputations. My partner was told she was imagining it and there was no problem at 14 years old, she was terminally ill by 17, and died at 22.
      What you are feeling isn't normal. It might be harmless but you *need* to find out like yesterday.
