Nice overview of the history. You covered the machine and the history of what happened with Akai during this time well. I would like to know who used this MPC and what records were made using this MPC? That would be very interesting
this was my first MPC during covid. i had always used Ableton and a 404SX. so i wanted to branch into the MPC space.. and i gotta say, i loved it except for 1 thing! the cursor on mine was so unreliable. the tact switches were worn.. so i sold it because of that. I didnt mind the screen because chopping on it was similar to the SP's (by ear) also the Original Pads were ASSS..
🤣JJ killer...really?🤣 This lets me know you never used JJOS cuz if you did you would never said something that crazy. Also if your gonna say the Akai OS is better then JJOS you should've put the features JJ added so we can compare. Why would you even diss a man that dedicated his time, energy & resources to made the MPC a better device, plus doing that for piece of hardware at a time when software was more popular & still updating it as of 2022 since about 2007. You don't diss a member of the MPC community like that - You give them their props for 15 years of service!

How is any MPC user gonna take u seriously when someone that's been in the as long as u claim the MPC500 is better than the MPC1k/2500 with JJOS? Then try to tell me that u meant that Akai made impossible for JJOS to use on the MPC500 - like I didn't just watch your video that disrespect the creator of JJOS without stating what features JJOS added. I had to unsub, but I'll still check out some of videos to see if u improve, just can't fully support someone like u.
Useless little thing i use it as a weed plate now🤣🤣🤣.I have a vinyl album on top of it.I forgot i had it.The only saving grace for that thing would of been resampling.The midi sucks tedious as hell to use with outboard gear bad bad bad idea for Akai.
As a sampler it's more powerful than the ones Roger Linn MPCs as it has built in effects that sound good, as standard, more sample time, and a USB port. If you aren't shortsighted or sausage fingered then its a great MPC to use on the move, or away from the studio.

@@RoomAtTheTopStudio Dude i thought the 1000 was a piece of crap.I just didn't like that generation of mpc's the 2500 was cool in fact the only one i liked was the 5000.The 60 3000 4000 2000 and xl are my preferred mpc's and this new generation.

I really like the mpc 500!!
It's a portable cutdown version of the 3000/60. I go from the 3000 to the 500 workflow seamlessly

I'm talking in terms of the company stopping it from getting on there other mpc's to run a company you need to be in control of you product.
This series is all about the company and the mpc not what I think. For AKAI it works to close out anyone from doing that again.
