- There are exactly 12 types of steak, no more, no less. Wait.. what's that? Ok, we just got word that there are actually a few more types of steak, but what defines a steak anyway? Amiel Stanek is here to break down the features of 12 types of steak based on cut, cattle breed, diet and age and how long the meat was aged. Whether it's the always popular Angus T-bone or the Piedmontese porterhouse, each steak has its own unique attributes and quality is truly in the eye of the beholder.

Lower grade will be more comparable to the other steaks on offer. While great, high grade wagyu is basically beef butter and doesn't scratch the same 'itch' as the other steaks here

They record the mic and camera separate and piece them together, only editing the footage for the most part. A lot of different cuts and 3 different cameras

Gosh, people! They wouldn't eat just the fat because it's too rich and would make you sick. But I have to say, that if I want to eat fat, I want it crisp on the outside. Then, it IS better than the meat!

Amiel’s medium rare is my rare. I like my steak medium rare and I gotta say, a lot of that was definitely rare.
To the best of my knowledge, he's using the accurate terminology. When I was training, our teaching chefs thaught us to always cook meat a notch more than what people ask for because of that...
He undercooks everything. Check out his burger video, 98% of those are straight up raw inside.
Most of his steaks aren't even rare, to be honest, a lot are actually bleu, which is to say pretty much raw.

You must try a venison steak, aged about 2 weeks, pan-fried. Venison is so lean that many people fail at
cooking it. But it needs to be about 1/2" thick, and simply placed in hot oil (with-my fave-a bit of butter.
Hot and fast so it doesn't dry out! BIG flavor! Delicious!

My late grandparents had a cattle farm, and for about 12 years switched to Piedmontese. Very lean meat, but I remember a lot of calving problems.
