Fun fact: During the Korean War, the PLA made a plan which was called the "East Asian Liberation Campaign" or EALC for short. The plan was that when South Korea would fall to North Korea with support from China, chinese troops would go through now Communist Korea and invade Japan, then they would establish the Japanese People's Republic and invade Taiwan and Indochina through the South China Sea and the Ryukyu Islands. The plan was originally favored by Mao Zedong but Mao ended up refusing it in 1952 as North Korea was getting pushed back, such a plan would require enormous resources China didnt have and Mao was more focused on his cultural revolution and great leap forward plans.
