    One of the only makers on youtube that can do a "review" video without talking. Nothing but action and results. My man!

    • @groundcontrolgainesville4841
      @groundcontrolgainesville4841 6 років тому +13

      bugs me so much when I check out a review video and the person is just standing in front of the camera for 10 minutes talking, and MAYBE gets to some footage of them using the tool.

    • @Yonatan24
      @Yonatan24 6 років тому +1

      Good point. I don't speak in my videos but wanted to make some "silent reviews". I thought it would be weird though. I guess it the tool isn't too complicated and needs explanations than it would be fine.

    • @Yonatan24
      @Yonatan24 6 років тому +5

      "Unboxings" are even worse. Why is it so difficult to understand that I don't need to see 4 minutes of footage of cutting a box open!

    This video was really informative as I am new to routing and bought a couple of molding bits and was not sure how to use them. This video taught me a lot.

    These bits seem to do a great job. The question is : For how long will they keep performing like this. This said, thank you for taking the time to show us your experience Mister Je. :-)

    never seen the bird’s mouth bit, is it only useful for that type of box you made?
    i like the profile bits, those look great

    Please do an update after some hard use. I'm always sceptical that these work great out of the box but might lose their edge or have their bearings burned down after a short while.

    • @watahyahknow
      @watahyahknow 5 років тому

      you can replace the bearings those things are cheap , im using the smaller outers that come in a box and they last me in hobby use for about 20 years now , even routed through some bradnails ocasionally by accident , think the most importand question would be how well do the matched pair routers work like for making raised cabinet doors

  • @highpocket888
    @highpocket888 4 роки тому +1

    I bought this brand before, never again. Horrible vibration, my router cabinet almost vibrated off the table. Just pay the extra money for the better brand, it's worth it.

  • @richardparsons7012

    Have they had a lot of use? If so, do they hold an edge? And are the bearings good?

  • @bobbg9041
    @bobbg9041 2 роки тому

    Nice, I was thinking you could make a jig to hold the wood at different angles insted of just 90dgr like crown is shaped
    Becuse the routers always going to be st 90 dgr you need a jig that can holt it at 22.5. 45. 60. Or any angle off of 90 you decide would look good, for picture frames some frames are just that over a canvas.

  • @ISTOmaker
    @ISTOmaker 6 років тому

    they make a clean cut and look good, but, how long do they last cutting like that?

    • @1959Berre
      @1959Berre 6 років тому

      That would depend on the hardness of the material: pine, oak, walnut, MDF...

    • @notajp
      @notajp 6 років тому

      1959Berre MDF is hard on cutting tools! We used to do a production job using MDF that required flat bottomed holes cut with Forstner bits. Didn’t matter what brand we used from cheap Chinese to CMT and Freud, they all dulled rather quickly tho the better brands did last longer. MDF is very abrasive for some reason. I suspect the glues and binders they use in producing it.

    • @jorisknuts9662
      @jorisknuts9662 6 років тому

      John Acuff, it's the glue. For the same reason that glue joints are hard on cutting knives.

  • @diversify210
    @diversify210 6 років тому +3

    Ill stick with Whiteside, Freud, and Infinity router bits. I like bits that will make consistently clean cuts project after project. Those cheap router bits may be good for one project, but they are garbage for the next. They just don't hold an edge. Besides that. I am just not going to skimp on something that will will be spinning up to 20,000 RPM in my face.

    I don’t know dick about wood working, but it looks as if you need a gate to hold the board against the cutter.
    Put a bolt up thru the table beside the cutter.
    Put a round roller over the bolt.
    Now the roller will squeeze the board into the cutter head and keep the proper distance set.
    To change the distance use a thinner or thicker roller on the bolt.
    Should work. But with climb milling the board will jam. Don’t climb mill.

      Hugo cabellos balladares , mira esos bits como le llaman en USA, en otros países creo que le llaman fresadoras, torneadoras, muchos nombres, bueno son marcas genéricas, por lo general son compañías americanas o europeas que las hacen en china para ahorrar mano de obra pero quiere decir que sean malas, yo uso mucho la marca Yonico, si vas a EBay los verás, son idénticas a estos, yo diría que lo mismo y a buen precio, creo que Amazon lo tiene también, suerte.
