- GWR Castle Class 4-6-0 no 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe shatters the peace of the Golden Valley, thundering up the climb to Sapperton Long Tunnel in Gloucestershire. This is the Vintage Trains Cotswold Explorer, Tyseley to Oxford, Saturday 19th October 2013.
Bloody marvelous, what a piece of engineering Collett sure got it right. Just love that GWR bark. Thanks for putting the video on, keep up the good work
It's a "Star" with a bigger boiler. When you think the design goes back to the early 1900's, we ought to give the credit to Churchward. Collett didn't really have much to do with the design.
Great effort and video. Nearly as much noise as a Black5 & 8F!!! 😁 Wait for it.......
Well done Jeff! She was bloody going for it there! A lovely location, from what ive seen, to get lovely shots of storming steam!! Tom

Sweetest " music" you could wish for, no other loco can get close to a GWR loco .

Give a thought to the poor fireman , he would be working like a slave !!
