For my UA-cam animations I use the second lip-synching technique, but I draw different mouths to emphasize a specific word or to add an emotion. I will also do that when there is no speech to really show the emotion of the character with the mouth. Thanks for the tutorials.
I wish they just put the library as a fast bar on the right, so instead of keymarkering everything you could drag and drop it, I do see how maybe for lip syncing this is faster, but dragging in and out of assets from the side would be awesome instead of opening the library every 5 frames.
I have not experienced that. But it seems like a bug. Go to the ToonSquid discussion page and report the bug. Then the developer can fix it. Here is the link: github.com/keiwando/toonsquid/discussions
Question, please...it looks like you can only go left to right, and if you make mistakes, going back to change one phoneme frame will change every frame to the right into that same phoneme. Do you just have to be very careful on the first pass, or can you switch frames later without changing the rest?

Thank you for the great tutorial. I have a question about layer management. I'm creating several characters for an animated video I'm creating. They are all rigged characters. I have created two so far and I can see that I will have several layers with all the heads, limbs, lip syncing, not to mention props and backgrounds. How does one manage and organize all of this in Toonsquid? How would you set all of this up? Thanks
I would make animated symbols out of all the characters and props. Do the animation in the animation clip. Then assemble all of the animated symbols on the main timeline.
Are you still using this? Maybe ios 17 broke app totally somehow? The projects are not saved correctly and evrything inside gets deleted whenever trying to create symbols.
I am still using this app, but I am still on iPadOS 16.6.1. Maybe it is IOS 17 that is causing the problem. Go to the ToonSquid site and let the developer know, so he can fix it. toonsquid.com/support/

thanks, I think for people considering the animation loop method, using only 3 shapes (silent, an O shapes and an open mouth) on 2s will work well.
