For the two orb weavers helping each other: it's called "tactical betrayal". You help someone your competing against for as long as your interests (in this case, gathering food) align, and the second they stop aligning you screw the bastard over and absolutely destroy them. I don't know if male orb weaver spider's are intelligent enough to think up tactical betrayal, but that doesn't really matter.
My friend’s mother apparently is an Alteori style champion. The friend’s father is pretty sure she did one of those ninja hiding tactics, holding herself between two walls in the closet up near the ceiling The friend themselves does actually look in the weirdest places too but only because they’d hide there
So.. if a 'not true friend' got tired of her and her talking (THAT'S A LARK!) they could just say "hey, let's play hide and seek, you hide I seek." and then they just walk away.
I was never that good at hide and seek as I never really had to learn to hide. The number of people who've jumped with fright when I speak up near them is kind of depressing. Hi vis clothing, cat collars with bell, making deliberate noise doesn't seem to matter they never hear me coming.
Spiders do weird dances all the time, apparently when in a predators territory, such as another spider, or even humans, if they identify you as a predator, they do a little dance, crouching as they walk, and shaking their butts. Pretty cute. Also, jumping spiders do this little two leg dance to impress you so you don’t kill them. Seen it myself, was 100% impressed.
"Like his farts are made of plot armor." No better sentence has ever been said. Also, I like that your avatar is way more animated in your newer videos. I know it's more editing work but it's so very worth it.
if you slow down the scene where he's flailing about and knocking over the cages there is a few frames right before he falls over that show some of the spiders pushing up on his heals to tip him. This is how you do a b-horror movie correctly. make it stupid but funny stupid with enough horror aspect to keep it interesting.
I will never get over the Spider... with boxing gloves sound effects as it "attacks" a person on the ground. It's the strangest juxtaposition between visual and audio i experienced and I still remember it.
Mad respect on the Hide n' Seek bit. I once unpacked a stuffed suitcase, placed the contents neatly in a closet to make it look natural, then packed myself in the suitcase in a standing position between 2 other suitcases.
I once was preparing to go to bed and when I was walking through the living room, a lone tenegaria spider came from under the furniture a was going towards me. We both immediatly stopped and just looked at each other like "The F are you doing here?? ". That was the funniest encounter with a spider I've ever had. Still scared of them tho, not of the small ones, just the big boys.
I'm not bothered by spiders at all. As long as they stay inside the walls I'm fine. There's a slight gap in one of my walls and a spider lives there, I named him Boris.
I have one in my toilet and he sometimes changes location but i always know where is he, i named him Vladimir and ofc his las name is Putin, and a lot of spiders, myb 3-4, they are like his bodyguards, they go everywhere he goes, and thats where name comes from. So everytime i see a fly and either i catch it and give it to him or he catches it, so its like my pet, but it can go anywhere he wants
I watched this with my mom about 4 months ago and she swore it was a good movie(learned that was a lie pretty quickly). Thanks Alteori, I couldn't remember the name of the movie because my mind kinda auto-deleted it.
As a kid i watched this movie an insane amount of times and every time the cat scene tore my heart open, but seeing it as an older person i realize how hilarious it is. My dad used to crack up at the scene and id get offended but now i get it 😂😂😂. I think my favorite thing about 8 Legged Freaks is how if you listen closely you can hear the spiders ACTUALLY cussing.
As an arachnophobic, the idea of a giant spider is both terrifying and aluring in some weird ways. Like, it would scare the lights out of me, but, BUT, imagine having one either as a guard dog or a mount. Who would DARE to break into the house of the madman cuddling a giant eight legged monster on his front yard? Who would dare oppose a man riding a giant spider into battle?
This is my first comment on the channel, but honestly these movie reviews have been really helping me lately. They’re such a laugh man, it legit feels like I’m watching terrible movies with friends. It’s just awesome and I really appreciate the content man
This movie mortified me when I was a little kid. Needless to say, the arachnophobia I developed because of this film became drastically worse when I actually saw Arachnophobia about a year after first seeing this. My arachnophobia has gotten so bad in fact that now all that needs to happen is for me to see a small little shadow and I immediately freeze up in terror at the idea that it might be a spider.
This movie was better than it should’ve been. Glad you reviewed it. Liking the new fox animations and I love how animated you get throughout the video.
I have such a soft spot for this movie. It was the first 'scary-ish' movie my parents let me watch as a kid (I think I was 7), and being the weirdo animal-lover I am, I wasn't remotely scared, just curious how much I could then look up about spiders. I honestly can't even decide if I ironically or genuinely love this movie
@Alteori you should do a video on the movie "TrollHunter" it's a Norwegian movie made in 2010 and has english subtitles. It has cool monsters even though it's a lower budget movie
Kaijū is Japanese for "strange beast". So technically, although not as large as a building, those spiders can still be considered Kaijū. Just as a little fun fact since most people tend to call only Godzilla size creatures "Kaijū".
I found out that they got three people to do the spider noises, they got Rob Paulsen, Kevin Michael Richardson and the one and only Frank Walker (the guy who voices Scooby doo). I can see frank walker doing noises, because he has been know to do animal noises in shows and I think maybe movies too, but yeah it turns out that’s the reason why the spiders sound so goofy.
3:39 I can confidently say that that spider is a perfectly normal size I mean I have trap door spider my self it doesn’t act like a trap door spider anymore but she’s bigger than even laughing and yeah feeding spiders copious amounts of crickets will cause them to grow in size also some spiders will go from being relatively friendly to being more aggressive and food driven that sometimes happens that’s not unusual
This movie is a guilty pleasure especially when you have actors like Rob Paulsen, Kevin Michael Richardson and Frank Welker playing the voices of various Spiders. Its fricken hilarious.
OMG! About a year ago, my best friend and I were in the mood for a dumb movie and came across this treasure. I remember going over to your channel to see if you had a review of this movie! This is amazing!

Yes, my favorite scene when watching this so long ago was the old man getting punched to death by the spider.... I was like Wtf!!! I saw this as a child though. It was hilarious at the time. Your review was hilarious. It's one of my favorite goofy b movies.
I watched this movie while I was quite young. And it cured the arachnophobia I had at that time! I just laughed so much at that movie as they turned the spiders so ridiculous and personable that I could not see spiders in a scary way anymore. X) Now I called all of them Amanda and relocate them if need be. Even killing them has become unthinkable for me as I like them way too much now. I never saw this movie as a horror one, more like a parody of one. Like the "Black Sheep" movie. Classics! Thank you silly and cheesy movie! XD
I believe I've seen the movie back then with my sister in cinema. We had so much fun but had to shake off the invisible spiders afterwards. Sure had some brrrr scenes xD
This movie gave me my extreme fear of spiders, and gremlins gave me an intense fear of the dark. My fear of heights... I think that just came naturally.
When the plot armor in this movie protects you from death... but attracts spiders NOPE! Also: the sound effects for the spiders in this movie is absolutely hilarious!
I'd almost forgotten about this movie. I knew I had seen it a long time ago, but remembered nothing about it. The late 90's spiked hair brought everything back.

Soap: Hello, I'm Sam Elliot.
XD
It took me a few minutes to realize I've seen this movie and hated it like I remember I wanted to punch my TV
I believe I've seen the movie back then with my sister in cinema. We had so much fun but had to shake off the invisible spiders afterwards. Sure had some brrrr scenes xD
8 Legged Freaks is a B-Movie classic!
Don’t know why but that cat scene always really got to me
Alteori fans: Hey Alteori! Watch this video/movie!
Alteori: Haha- I'm in danger
This movie gave me my extreme fear of spiders, and gremlins gave me an intense fear of the dark. My fear of heights... I think that just came naturally.
I watched this movie in theaters when it came out I love this movie.
its supposed to be a horror comedy. it was never intended to be serious.
on the vhs cover it was listed as sci-fi horror with light humor.
12:53 why did nobody tell me there's a new season of tom and jerry and there a there is even new character
I remember watching this movie as a kid and the nostalgia is absolutely balanced
Surprised you didn’t include the giant enemy spider meme
When the plot armor in this movie protects you from death... but attracts spiders
NOPE!
Also: the sound effects for the spiders in this movie is absolutely hilarious!
This movie is actually what helped me found out that spiders are my favorite animals
Omg, for a moment i didn't even hear the hello at first, and the dog scared me, btw great video, i didnt know this film but it seems interesting
I'd almost forgotten about this movie. I knew I had seen it a long time ago, but remembered nothing about it. The late 90's spiked hair brought everything back.
UA-cam kept auto deleting my post.. Apparently it thinks "spiky" is a bad word?
This movie reminds me an awful lot of the Kingdom of Webs you know that one movie where Captain Kirk fights tranchulas.🕷🕷🕷
A timeless classic.
You remember lavalantula?
@@misterskeleton_yt7854 Yes I do
@@grapeshot it appears that and sharknado are in the same universe
@@misterskeleton_yt7854 that and the Sharktopus.
Lol I love the emotional reactions of the avatar in each video.
0:23 that dog is super cute!
Damn. Radiation playing with your dog, or something?!
