  • A complete change in location for me this week as I spend a long weekend with my PubCast mates near Glencoe, in the Central Scottish highlands. Such amazing scenery and a weekend to remember....in many ways

    Cracking video, mate. I’m so glad that others bothered to make videos, because I was a lazy arse yet I still have these videos to look back on as a fond reminder. And I have to say, you absolutely must print that fabulous 16:9 from Tulla. Amongst a batch of excellent images, that was the real standout one for me. 🙂👍

    Loved the images of the pines with the lake ,very painterly , beautiful. Been to the area several times but weather has always let me down….it’s a long trip but certainly from the images you captured it looked worthwhile. Thankyou Jamie.

    Thank you for producing such great videos; beautifully filmed and your presence is very calming...Your pictures are outstanding too of course. As some others have said, it's a good job there are people like yourself who make the effort to make these, not only very entertaining but a great incentive to get out there and take some shots.

    Amazing images! Especially the panoramic at 10:50 and also the two pine trees after that - you seem to have a knack of finding some really interesting characters. I reckon the island in that shot could work quite well as a separate 4x5 image too.

    Some stunning images and to see the constant smile on your face - so great to see. The Tullah images were just beautiful, espoecially 10:48 Seeeing you stood on the side of what I believe is Lochan na h-Achlaise brought back memories for me of my 1st trip to Scotland.. I had done those trees at Tullah and then up onto Rannoch Moor to this lochan. Lost some filters within 20 mins never to be found again - but it didnt spoil the trip. The background is Black mount I think. What a way to finish the trip.. a great watch and can't wait to see everyone elses videos too.. Gaz will have 6 vlogs out of this trip I reckon 🤣 atb Al

    Good to see you made it to Scotland, lots of lovely images here but one that stands out is at 12:30 - a superb mono image. I think you need a week up here to get at least one good day of light, but you did well in just 3 days. Thanks. PS I have spent hours cloning out the pylons on Kilchurn Castle and it never looks right, you did very well.

    • @JamieOverland
      @JamieOverland  2 роки тому

      Thanks Keith, that one framed really nicely. If we had got to the castle earlier I think we would have perfect reflections however you’ll need to watch the Pubcast on Tour episode to find out why we didn’t 😁

  • @iainmc9859

    So glad you enjoyed it and the photo's are probably more representative of the usual weather than anything you could have taken a week later in glorious sunshine 😎. Shots of hills lost in the cloud standing in damp clothes and wet feet usually sums up the experience. I hope the camping wasn't too rigorous.
    So many glens are 'spoilt' by powerlines, eventually you've just got to work with them and incorporate what you can't hide.
    The loch (no idea what the thing you put keys in to open a door that you kept referring to had to do with it 😊) next to the A82 is Loch Ba, the shallowest Loch in Scotland with an average depth of about 2 ft, you can wade to the islands in the summer.
    I hate to point this out (but I will anyway ... because I do to everyone that says it) the mountain you shot from the River Coupall cascades is Stob Dearg (something like 'the gatepost'). Buachaille Etive Mor & Beag are the walls of Lairig Gartain, the hanging valley, behind the mountain. - if I only had a pound for every time I'd said that 😉.
    Pity you only had a long weekend. I should have pointed out the Lochan's Trail a short walk out of Glencoe village, there's some classic shots there, re John McKenna's vlog: ua-cam.com/video/LikCqHxmrtM/v-deo.html&ab_channel=JohnMcKennaPhotography
    Hope to see you north again at some point.

      Iain, the next time you moan at me about the lack of silver birches and decent woodland around you remind me to share how many times I wanted Gary to stop the car whilst driving alongside Loch Lomond on the way back….there looked some beautiful oak woodland along there! I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend and the camping was challenging but fun! I wish you had educated me on the name of that mountain before we went - it would have made me look so much more intelligent ( which is a very hard to to!)

There are so many images in this video i really liked a pleasure to watch. Seeing you and Gary at the end half way up a mountain brought back some memories of when i was fitter obsessed with getting to the top only to find no view at all , some of the best views were from the journey up or down and rarely from the summit and what a view you had stunning.

    Hahaha. The railings at Kilchurn are new. The electicity pylons are not. They're always a point of discussion. Leave them in and someone comments that you should clone them out. Clone them out and someone comments that they've been removed... Just can't win!.. Beautiful location, though.

    I have something negative to say, sorry. You're slide shows are a little too fast. You're images have a breadth and depth that's hard to take in on a cellphone. I get in, I'm looking around then all of a sudden I'm in a completely different place. It's jarring, I'm old. Loved the rest of it though.

    • @JamieOverland
      @JamieOverland  2 роки тому

      No need to apologise Matt, I appreciate the feedback. I do try to give each shot enough time on screen, however sometimes if I’m not wholly happy with the image I may cut it short!! I’ll take note for the next edit
