Hai barrie. , I am planning to buy a 2011 golf 1.6 tdi. 150000 miles mileage. So what are things need to be considered ?? can you help me ? is it worth for £3000 ?
What would you recommend? I have seen 2010 golfs for a budget of £3k? 1.6 tdi se or 1.4 tsi se. Assuming that I see both models with high miles and exact same condition. Which would be more sensible? Diesel for fuel but petrol for repair bill. But idk if the diesel would make up for this by mpg? Thoughts? Or should I look at other cars/
Hi sir. I have shortlisted a VW golf 2011 1.6L tdi model with a mileage of 118500 for 2500. Is it worth the price ? How many miles more can I expect the engine to run without any problems. Pls advice
@@sooraj215 you can get lots of miles out of the engine. Someone i know bought it on 122K and now its 145K. I had lots of EGR issues with mine so look into this. It got replaced and then had issues again so had to have it mapped out so no more future issues. Mine is 105k and marks around the body. Im planning on selling it soon too
Hi I bought a 2010 tsi 118 1.4L - im scared because all the problems happened with this model the DSG 7 speed transmission? However it has 124,000km so it has been drive quite a lot? Should i still be worried?
Its quite important to service them, but it would seem even when they have started misbehaving a service puts them back to normal, and worse case scenario a gearbox adaptation with the right diagnostic machine to reset it
@@mohammedkahaf2428 Never believe that guys. Never trust manufacturer in automatic transmission. Change oil every 60.000 km. Even dq200 oil can be changed. Especially this type is dry clutch. you can destroy it in a big city due to overheating while trapped in traffic. Due to this oil degrades rapidly. I would say specifically dry clutches have to be maintained MORE because of bigger strain and heat. they cannot go above 200 Nm or so, if you are at 210 or 220 you are basically at a max level of what this transmission can handle.
Golf is the better car, build wise and for holding their value, however Fiesta likely to be more economical, cheaper to tax and insure, and will probably be better equipped too
If you potter around town all the time then yes but if you do at least one good run a week the DPF will be alright, but often a dpf fault is caused by something else if you are doing the mileage , however they do seem to go through EGR valves, and instead of leaving them where they were on the front of the engine where it took 10 minutes to replace and the part was about £100 theyve put it at the back of the engine, its difficult to do, it takes ages and theyve combined the EGR with something else and it now costs about £600, brilliant VW a massive step backwards 🤯
Tom Jardine pretty good but not as good as they used to be, also depends what engine, what fuel and what year, diesels egr problem and part is £600 and its a bastard to fit, petrol tfsi engines of certain years timing chains stretch and then jump a tooth, but all in all as good as any other makes (google before you buy)😎
I’ve got the tdi mk6 golf, broke down coz of faulty injector, to find out it’s a common fault for the mk6. Car runs fine after diesel cleaner. So be wary folks, it is expensive to fix.
@@Mr330d I’m gonna keep driving it till they go out again, car now seems fine, I tried looking on bosch website for fuel injectors but it never comes up. Wanna know a rough price
I like your virtual videos
Absar Hussain i am really glad you do, they help us sell a lot of cars, but its good if they provide a little enjoyment too 😎
the vids are awsome you explain the cars well thankyou and well done★★★★★

Want the car for uni commute next year (80) miles round trip. Is the lack of a 6th gear make it worse for the motorway than the tsi se?
i would go for the diesel if your mileage warrants it, diesel engines last twice as long as petrol engines, and they are cheaper to service too

if its been serviced (and the gearbox oil changed by someone who knows what they are doing you should be ok
Ok going to view one of these. 2010 diesel. But over 100,000 miles. Any advice? Is the car reliable. We want it to last.
Injectors and DPF + EGR is troublesome on these 1.6 TDIs

@@cgavin1 Not true On this engine unfortunately the Siemens injectors are crap compared to Bosch on the 2.0 TDI and frequently go wrong on this engine
Very comfortable to drive 🚗👌
Yes it is!
Are the DSG automatic gearbox ones reliable as well, if getting a high mileage one for example, a 2011 1.6 tdi DSG with 120k miles on the clock ?
Its quite important to service them, but it would seem even when they have started misbehaving a service puts them back to normal, and worse case scenario a gearbox adaptation with the right diagnostic machine to reset it
If you service them on time, they will be reliable
If it is the 7 Speed DSG (DQ200) then I believe it is a “sealed for life” unit and won’t need servicing every 40k, I have one at 130k and it’s great

Can you please suggest 2013 fiesta zetec with ecoboost 1L or golf 1.4 2011 Petrol
Both have mileage of 37K

Only the 1.6 Tdi suffers because they use Siemens injectors the 2.0 tdi 110-140-170bhp use BOSCH injectors much better
