My name is Ewan Cunningham, I'm 18 years old and I'm a self taught musician. I started playing drums at the age of 4 and now I'm branching out into other instruments such as guitar, bass, keyboards and vocals. I've been teaching myself to mix, record and film music since I was 10 years old and this is my passion.
This is a drum cover of "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)" by Elton John from his 1973 album "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".

This is really well done. This song always wears me out, but Ewan's way of playing it is so relaxed. I like the way he gives his right hand a rest toward the end of the song by playing quarters instead of eighths. And, that exclusive use of snare drum for fills. No toms. I can't wait to go practice this approach to a song that always gave me fits.
When I feel like my drumming is stagnant, I'll look for drum covers for anything.... Yours did the trick

Both, sort of. I instinctively memorize drum fills just from listening to the song :)
