      It was a gift for all to enjoy but unfortunately some people like Brendan saw it as their own personal UA-cam streaming platform. There is plenty of blame to go around regarding the incident with the Chinese group but don’t invoke Elton John and don’t paint all people from a country with the same broad stoke of the brush.     This piano was meant to bring joy, and it has. Sad to see how recently it has been allowed to become involved in a political situation. Let's hope that very soon it will once more be a gathering place for people to enjoy, while expressing happiness and freedom.

    LOVE Elton John. The last text my sister sent me before she went to heaven... was Rocketman. Not sure why she did but I now believe she was helping me with her songs at her funeral. Been a little over a year and I cry everyday. My big sister, my best friend and soulmate. Please hug and love on everyone. Don’t let a moment pass. God bless❤️🙏

    Mr Kavanaugh was playing Elton John’s donated Public Piano at the Station the other day and some tourists called the police on him for playing the piano and people were recording on their phones just like they are here. And there are lots of people being recorded in the background. Yet no one is calling the police in this video here. Now London is banning people from playing the piano. What up with that? BTW…Sir Elton John is amazing. ThabjYiu for donating that beautiful piano the the Station a public spot. And ThankYou for your beautiful piano playing and talent.

      Transitions like that are not difficult if you stay in the same key, which he is doing. Also, that is the way he writes his music, he plays in a certain key until he finds a rift he likes. Likely repeating some of what he did when he actually wrote the songs. But you are correct he is very smoooooottthhhhhh for sure!

Oh yeah, and thunderstruck and Rasputin as they’re both in B. I can’t even remember what I played lol, played for like an hour straight

      IMO, He and Bernie were one of the all-time great writing teams, period. Certainly, in pop music. Right amongst greats like Lennon and McCartney. His early works, sometimes putting out 2 records in a year, were prolific and fantastic. Not many could touch his pace and quality of writing at that time. That makes him a musical genius in my book. Thanks, Sir Elton.

    Love Elton John! Ran in to him at the PRADA store in Las Vegas, NV many years ago and he was very cordial and polite. Actually spoke with him for awhile as he was shopping. Interestingly enough the store was pretty empty and it was early in the day, so I actually was able to spend some time talking to him. What a great artist and extremely polite to his fans.

    I just love Elton John, he’s one of the few old time greats that still has it today. Unlike most who can’t sing their own songs anymore or warble uncontrollably. Elton, you’re ace!!

      He plays and sings well but is an absolute jerk of a person. He treats “the common people “ like trash when cameras are not rolling. I have seen it in person and know people in music industry that have horror stories of him. A few years back his security made guests at the peninsula hotel in LA leave the lobby because Elton did not want to see anyone when he went to his room. Absolutely true story. He is a temperamental jerk.

      Eltons voice does still sound quite good.. but it is definitely not what it was early in his career when it was fabulous.... then again most singers voices sink even further with age than Eltons has.

      Saw him with Billy Joel. Billy played a short set and left the stage. Elton came on and said Billy was ill and wouldn’t return and would anyone mind if he (Elton) played longer to make up for it. The place went nuts. Great show.

    Lovely to see David there with him also.
    Elton is one of only a few that have ever stood the test of time in the entertainment industry.
    He still fills whatever venue he plays. He hasn't had to resort to the pub/club scene as many do after 5 or 10 years. He's still going strong after 50 years.

    The man could give a full concert never playing more than half of a song, and never opening his mouth, yet every person in the audience would be thoroughly entertained. Amazing.

    I saw Elton in Edinburgh in the 70 s . Superstar then and still is today. Fantastic musician loved all his stuff and had all his albumns. Immense talent.

    I love it. Elton is amazing. Saw him the first time for the Yellow Brick Road tour. One of the UK’s greatest musicians ever.

    I was privileged to watch him in Sydney in the mid 70s along with 50,000 other fans. He came out and played for 2.5 hours solid and we were all exhausted from dancing and singing too.

      Same here. Saw him in the 1980s at The Los Angeles Forum and everyone could tell he truly loved his career. He probably would have played and sung all his music all night long had it not been for the venue's concert time limit.

      1. That is probably true, but I put this for some ppl in the comments who were asking for the titles and for some fans who like but arent that familiar to his music
      2. I also agree- some may even say it's common sense that people who don't enjoy his music would simply ignore this comment/video 🤷‍♀️

    What lovely economy of motion! There is a lot of subtlety at play. At times the base is remarkably complex. Then also many chords are played without the thumb of his right hand. Wow!
