Ohio Shaves- I have watched at least 10 of your videos and learned from each of them! Almost 5 decades shaving, 99.99% with a cartridge and only a few with a DE. Following your advice I bought a 6S and some Feathers ( bc I am a sharp nut!). They arrived today and I can’t wait! Thank you for the education.
Right on!
It's such a huge difference shaving head and face with a saftey razor. It used to take so long to get it perfect with the cartridges. I had quit razor shaving and started just knocking it down with electric clippers. Your channel got me back into shaving and now I look forward to my shaves. Thanks brother
Glad to be making a difference for so many people here on UA-cam. I really enjoy making video's and all the feedback we get from viewers. Very thankful for all your support
Electric clipper is still great when you have several days worth of growth; then continue the rest of the shave with a safety razor of your choice.
@@10floz30minutesI only shave my head twice a week. Have zero problems.
I keep a black, fine point Sharpie in my razor blade kit and make a tally mark on the blade each time I use it. I always know exactly which use I'm on.
That’s a great idea
That s a good, practical, and simple approach. But I’m an ex librarian with control issues so I record every in the My Shave Den app on my phone 😂
@@bf0082001 I also make written records of my shaves. That is how I count the shaves on a blade.
Great video. I normally will sport a bald head twice a year (I can still grow a head full of hair), I like the safety razor because it makes me slow down which leads me to enjoying the shaving experience. I am unable to go against the grain, like you, secondary to the development of hair bumps. When it comes to shaving the back of my head, I always use a hand held mirror which allows me to see what I am doing. I never did well with the hand feeling technique. Keep up the great work on the videos!
Thanks for sharing!
My hair started thinning in my mid 40's. I started with balding clippers until i started thinning more. Then i went with the Balder Pro headshaver. I got tired of it missing hair at the back of my head and me having to keep going over it. Then i went with the Gillette fusion but the blades didn't last long enough and are expensive. I started watching Ohio Shaves and bought The Leaf razor. Best thing i could of done. I actually look forward to head shaves and your videos. Thanks Ohio Shaves!
Great review. Thanks for sharing your experience and as always, Thanks for your support.
I’m curious if the Leaf Thorn aggression would equal the H or EH Yates plates?
Not even close
ariana and evans soaps are my favorite. it just keeps lathering. they have the best scents.
One of my new favorites
I tried your method today it definitely made my head smooth when you rotated your head around
Excellent! Thanks for letting all the viewers know
*Looking forward to your TOP BLADES video for 2023.*
That got put on hold due to the best razor blades being moved out of Russia. I don't even know if I could come up with the top three right now
When i'm shaving the back of my head i don't need to guess, i use my hands
💈👍
*Exactly!* That's the way to do it.
Smooth shave as always 💯
💈👍
Proof razor is the best for head shaves great video
Why is that?
@OhioShaves because you get no irritation, just a clean shave . Yes, these Razors adjust completely superior
Done like a pro as always. Did mine today with the Leaf and Stirling Executive Man soap. Quality products all around. Keep em coming and have a swell holiday. 🎉
Thank you much. You as well
@OhioShaves try them Razors, and you will be surprised
beautiful do e shave!. happy holidays, regards dapper shaves
Happy holidays!
Hey sir. Always enjoy your videos. Top notch. Have the EH plate and just ordered the M plate. EH works really well on the face, but super aggressive on the head. Hoping I get the same results as you on the dome with the M plate. Thanks for great info as always. Gooooo Bucks!!!
Welcome. Thanks for your support
I finish my head shave with Duru lemon spray and Aqueous cream👍
How does that compare?
It's the best combo for every other day head shaves that i've tried👍@@OhioShaves
What is the name of the razor?

I think after the new year I’m gonna try going safety razor, been looking into the leaf products.
Hopefully cut down the time it takes for me to shave compared to cartridges, cause when it comes to the dome I have a bad habit of making sure my head is 110% smooth lol. So I’m in there longer than I probably should be 😂
Right On 👍
Yeah , Leaf razor will definitely cut down the shaving time , i don't think faster head shave (with razor) exist. I have Leaf Twig and just like you i wanted something faster and Leaf razor was perfect choice
What's the best soap you've ever used? You know the number.
I have a video on that
Wow Nice smooth shave! That razor is pretty slick looks really cool. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Merry Christmas
Nice shave. Did I miss a video with you doing a face shave with the Yates razor? I have the 921 M on order. Have a great holiday. 👍🎅🎄

@@OhioShaves Thanks. Don't know how missed it. 😕
I shave my head in the shower👍
Nice
Great shave - I love Simpson brushes. No “relaxing” head shaves for me at present because two weeks ago I had a horrendous shave with the Leaf - all user error I hasten to add. The bathroom looked like murder scene! I first had to heal and then subsequent shaves have been veeeery careful as I rebuild my confidence. Moral of story is don’t shave at 5am while sleepy, and with a time constraint.
Sending you Christmas wishes from Aotearoa. Thank you for a great year of entertainment and info.
Merry Christmas. Thanks for your support my friend. I have had bad shaves as well. Your not alone
I'm curious, how you approached and managed your first head shave since the previous "horrendous" one? I too am healing after cutting myself a few times in a head shave.
@@10floz30minutesVery carefully and slowly - and told my wife and son to not interrupt me! 😂 I also only put two blades in the Leaf rather than three. I did one pass so, combined with the less aggressive blade set-up of the Leaf, it was definitely not a particularly close shave. I think it’s going to take an another week or so to restore my confidence and I’m OK with that. Adding pressure to the nerves won’t help, so I’m just accepting the ‘process’. Best of luck on your recovery and regaining of confidence👍
I heard that the Top blades video is put on hold because some blades moved out of Russia. Which ones are moved away? I will cry if Nacets are moved
Here is the video on it: ua-cam.com/video/lNi2DR8zkNY/v-deo.html
That's because your neck still works! 😅😅😅
I guess so
👍👍👍👍👍
😁😁😁
I've always wondered. Is it trickier to shave on a more curved and hard surface like around the top of your head, vs a more even and "workable" surface like the cheeks.
Head shaving is more difficult
One learns to navigate. Tricky, maybe , but you'll find how to manage the trick.
Had an amazing headshave today but my neck is all messed up again. I am CONVINCED it is impossible for me to use a razor on my neck.
I have a sensitive neck as well and my first pass is with the grain and the second and third pass is against the grain. If I go across the grain I get razor burn and bumps
@OhioShaves I've been using electric shavers only on my neck since I was 14years old because cartridge razors MESSED ME UP and left me terrified of using any razor on my neck.
The razor was amazing on that first pass. By the way I got the Rockwell 6s all in one kit for I think 135, but I wanted some opinions from you. I know you have used the Rockwell 6s so I think you're somewhat of an expert in the subject. The razor feels somewhat bland, but I can't decide whether that's a good thing or not. On one hand a razor that gets the job done, with no drama is great, right? I find it boring to use the razor, but maybe in the future my love for shaving might decreased (I'm currently 19) and I might benefit from this razor. As you got older did you think shaving as more of a chore or have you always looked forward to it?
It was always a chore growing up. I wish I would've made the switch at your age!! The money you are going to save is something I wish I could get back. Hang in there because when I was 19 I didn't really have that much hair on my face. It wasn't till my mid 20s when my beard started thick.
@@OhioShaves Thank you for the feedback, do you think I should keep the Rockwell 6s? How do you enjoy it compared to the other many razors you have including the Yates?
The 6S is a game changer in the wet shaving industry.
Gentlemen please you need to use a protection base with a safety razor. Either Prorasso pre shave cream or coconut oil then add the shaving cream….or else we are going to cut ourselves really badly. Please use a protection base or else we will get razor cuts and bumps
With a premium, shave soap or cream, there was no need for a protective base. Like the soap I used in video. No cut or razor burn
Sorry I strongly do not agree with you.
That depends on how is each individual person. One may learn to use both a double edged razor and a disposable razor for performing head shaves. Some ways wet-shavers deal with scalp preparation is to wash the head with soap & water; some wet-shavers just skip that and apply the lather; some wet-shavers may choose to first put on pre-shave product. My only problem is the *occasional* bad technique leading to cuts.
@@maxshade2935, you are yourself, and you are the person who needs to find what works. We would first suspect some techniques which you need to improve. Just like *ohio shaves* and several other head shavers , we find pre-shave soaps are not necessary for us. I for example, have never used a pre-shave soap for head shaves, and I usually have no skin cuts nor irritation.
Add to that, the cuts on my scalp which are currently still heading were the result of sloppy technique while using an aggressive razor for pass #1.
