I’m doing this at Falls Creek Falls next weekend. One tip from my training, pack light, very light. With the food stops and water stations no need to carry much.
Couldn't agree more. I used it as training for my thru hike of the Foothills Trail. My pack was what I normally would have on trail to help me understand my performance. Good luck! Let me know your time !
My advice is to pace yourself and take breaks. Dont focus too much on the time, if you haven't hiked 20 miles before, the last 5 miles are grueling, and if you dont take breaks or rest, it can hurt you in the long run. I would bring only water and some snacks, they provide a ton of food and medical supplies, so dont sweat that stuff. Pack as little as possible, steady pace and you can do it! let me know how it goes! Good luck!
I'm planning for my first soon, thanks for sharing.
Which one, if you dont mind me asking? I'm doing the Tennessee MM again, and its in an epic location. Very excited! Thanks for the comment and watch!
