Hi thanks for your super review, but yes i'm also really disapointed that the sound format ac3 or acc dont work on my DaVinci 1 Pro with the USB key ! And that apps like VLC cannot see my USB key! They have to update this really fast or i'm gonna send back my DaVinci 1 pro in the next week. And also, when we change the sound file during a video, it crash and come back to the main menu, exiting the USB video. So I cannot change the language of my video USB if I have multiple Language available. Thats horrible!! Please someone have a solution? Update soon or an app like VLC that sees the USB key please. Thanks a lot
You are most welcome! Not possible. As I mentioned in the review, USB port is controlled by projector itself. No Google TV. The build-in TV stick doesn't have USB access.

But if Google Tv will not have acces to the USB, is it possible that the Firmware of the projector itself can receive an update concerning the AUDIO Codec Supported? If yes, have you already see Wanbo in the past do such update? Because it's so sad, nearly all the video file now have audio codec that the DaVinci don't read... So it makes the 2 USB port nearly Useless.... Thanks in advance for your respond Sir Jay!!

So there is no other way to play video with working audio even through third party apps?
@@Afterbang77 I tried contacting Wanbo and this is what they said about the codecs:
“Dear, it supports audio FLAC, M4A, MP3, MP2, WAV, AAC (LC). Dolby format audio is not supported, such as AC-3, DTS-HD, THX, LD, SDDS, Atmos, TRUE-HD and AAC (HE), etc. Dolby sound effects cannot be supported. Dolby sound effects require Dolby decoding chips and software certification and Dolby authorization certification. The machine does not have Dolby authorization certification and cannot support Dolby sound effects.”

Their images are surprisingly good for the price, and one of their great advantages is that they can be placed directly in front of a wall and project onto the entire wall, although it has its limitations.

DaVinci 1 Pro is also Google certified. If you play games more, go for Xming Page One. Else DaVinci 1 pro is $120 cheaper. Can play 4K videos...

Hey jayce i know you get heaps of these questions but how does the davinci 1pro stand up against the formovie s5? Im guessing the S5 is better but can the davinci 1 still come close to the s5 in birghtness and image quality
The davinci pro is half the price of the S5 so thinking I may go for the davinci

Hi Joyce..I use a Denon 8k AVR and most of my content comes from a computer or a nintendo switch..all my inputs go via the AVR to projector. Hence I dont care about speakers on the projector. 90% of usage is downloaded movies or youtube.....so I dont care about any certification either since playback is from a PC.. With these in mind...which is the best projector below 400 EUR for shipping to Netherlands please. Many thanks in advance for all your help!!
So I dont care about speakers...any certification..no google tv..no netclix.....size not an issue..so dont want portable...Just need a dumb projector that has great image quality for under 400 EUR

Picture and text are better. But brightness is not. Upgrade to DLP projector if you plan to change a new projector...

You can watch the genuine content online directly, without having to collect more videos, Use USB in the VLC application, I think this will make it more convenient to use the projector.

Nope. Wanbo needs to update the projector firmware to support it.
I emailed Wanbo and they said they don’t have any plans to update the firmware to support Dolby codecs.
Anyway, if I connect a Mi TV box, and connect the drive to the box, it should work, right?

Very interesting projector? A little disappointing that after calibration it is under 300 ANSI lumens
Just 20 lumens lower. You won't notice it on naked eyes. 😉

Is it possible to play movies from the USB port using VLC/KODI?
My cheap projector let me open VLC which recognizes the USB external memory and can play all the content (usb key must be exfat formatted)

i viewed entirely your review of the davinci just before asking, because you said there are movie players available for the usb port content, but usually these native players (existing on every projector) are not able to play new codecs and vlc/kodi would be needed, but just later you said there is no Google beneath them.
