    Chris help! Thanks for all the great vids man. Helped me learn a lot about these new 4k projectors. I'm confused about this contrast ratio rating. There seems to be such a great difference. I think I'm missing something? This 747 has a 12000 to 1 while the optoma uhd60 has
    1million to 1 contrast ratio. Seems like quite the difference. Can you explain the contrast ratio and does it mean much when it comes to the picture? Any info will help me out. Thank you!

    • @bryanp4827
      @bryanp4827 4 роки тому

      The Optoma contrast ratio is absolute bullshit...NO DLP projector can produce blacks that deep, but the best black level isn't always the best option either...

    Great video my friend. Is PX727-4K so noisy as PX747-4K?
    Between these two, BenQ TK800 and BenQ HT2550 what is your suggestion for little lighter room?

    • @TheDearRecorded
      @TheDearRecorded 3 роки тому

      What did you go with finally? I'm on the fence between this, the Optoma 144x (not 4K, but less expensive and seeing lots of good reviews but don't know if it's hype or for real), the Epson TW-5700 (europe model number, not sure what's the home cinema equivalent)
      Ideally trying to find something that works well for a bright as well as dark room (day and nightime viewing)
      Which one under 1000 $ has the best black levels with good brightness?

    Hi Chris,
    I bought this Projector from Amazon (In Europe) with the hope that the noise it makes would not be too bad. I was wrong though and I have decided to return it. It creates way too much of a humming noise.
    I am considering the Benq TK800 as a replacement (The UHD 50/51 is out of my budget at the moment)
    I can't see many people complaining about the noise on the TK800.
    Presumably it's pretty quiet?

    • @indeans48
      @indeans48 6 років тому

      When I upgraded from 720p to 1080p projector I also decided to switch to single wheel DLP. I heard the complaints about a "Rainbow effect" but figured that the deal on my BenQ was too good to pass up. At first I didn't understand what anyone was talking about, but after a few days my eyes finally picked up on it during a screening of 'Pyscho'. I'm a classic film buff, so I have a ton of black and white movies in my collection and can say by far that it's the worst with those (high contrast and super bright whites make it very noticeable). I was kinda upset and got worried I would never be able to unsee the rainbows during everything I watched, but within a few weeks I had managed to trick my brain into ignoring it. It was never so bad that I got sick from it, but it was very annoyed and distracting until my eyes had gotten used to the DLP style.

  • @teolong9

    I was one of the lucky ones to get it for $999 a couple of weeks ago; however I'm sending it back to Amazon. I had several issues with performance, I was watching some HDR content on netflix and it was underwhelming, the time that it takes to makes changes through settings is an annoyance to say the least. Sometimes you cannot tell the difference between HDMI 1 4k and HDMI 2 1080P I actually found 1080P hdmi to work better with some netflix and prime video content. I had an epson 2150 with 2400 lumens and it is actually brighter than this one at 3500. If anyone is interested I'll sell it instead of sending it back to amazon. Let me know. By the way I didn't find the fan to be very loud and speaker was just okay... That light-border though, I hate it.

    This projector gets the job done pretty well. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxS9P8zTOcmQg-hH0QeUi3dspOLyYgQ6dH Bear in mind it's a mini projector but all things considered the picture quality is pretty good. The attached photo is of the projector projecting onto my white closet doors. I still have not messed with the settings but I can't wait for our first family movie night on a larger scale. If you have issues with volume not working with your firestick, go into volume settings and you will find your solution there.

    Woah, woah, woah... So what you're saying is that this is _marketing buzzword_ "4K". Not *TRUE* 4K. Being "like 4K" is not 4K. Avoid. For sure!
    That's like the old scam-tastic "1080p" marketing material before 1080p/Full-HD sets could display 1080 at proper 1080p60. They'd still call them 1080p even though they only displayed 1080p resolutions but at half the framerate.
    I also wonder what the coloured-light output is, since the ANSI-lumen spec means virtually nothing except how bright a white image can be projected. Coloured-light lumen output is one of the very most important things to find out about a projector!

    This is how reviews should be like. Short and informative.
    The blacks of these dual 1080 chips are sooooo bad. It would be better to go full HD on the same price.
    Resolution doesnt do the trick, colour and contrast do. I mean, they say HDR capable, 4k resolution ect, but they offer
    really small persentage of these technologies.
    I wonder whats taking so long for the companies to offer true native 4k models with decent blacks and colour space.
    Only Sony has been offering true 4k projector for years now... well and jvc on a 30.000$ price tag.

    • @ChrisMajestic
      @ChrisMajestic  6 років тому

      Thanks. The sharpness isn't my gripe, it's the balance between deeper blacks and overall brightness. The ideal projector for me would be the UHZ65 but I'm waiting for laser projectors to drop less than $2000 before I pull the trigger.

    • @vagomaniac
      @vagomaniac 6 років тому

      So true, 2000 is a good price for a decent projector, especially a laser one!
      The market must evolve because people who are new in the ''projecting art'' will soon realise they are given very few for the money they pay.

My room measures 12x13x8 the projector would be mounted 12 to 13 ft from the screen. I’m looking to project 120 inches diagonally. Should I have any issues getting 120 inch image from that distance with the 5050ub? Also how well did it serve you?

    I know this is 20 degrees or more
    I use the screen all the way to the ceiling
    This is rather the biggest disadvantage
    Is it possible to adjust this to 0 degrees?
    Or is it fixed at 20 degrees?
    I know it's 20 degrees higher or higher.
    I use the screen to the top of the ceiling.
    This is the biggest drawback.
    Can you adjust it to 0 degrees?
    Or is the 20 degree angle fixed?
