    I get a consistent 100 miles range on my 2020 SR/F with 14.4 kW battery so I'd expect slightly more on this 2022, but while the range is always seen as an issue, I've been able to a 3000 miles-trip in 16 days this year

  • @caspianprince
    @caspianprince 2 роки тому +7

    Quick note from long term rider (11,000 miles and counting): range is 100 miles most days with the 14.4. 70 if it's all motorways, 130 if it's all country roads, but usually there's a bit of a mix. I've got 12kW charging, so I basically fill up in about an hour or so but of course nobody rides it till it's flat and you also don't generally charge it till it's full either unless you're at home. Having already parted with and arm and a leg though you will need to lose a kidney for the extra charger, otherwise it's a 2hr wait for you on the Premium SRF and a 4hr wait on a Standard SRF, ie. no good for realistic touring. At 12kW it tours ok, in line with arse's ability to cope with the rather over firm suspension.

    The parking brake is available as an accessory from Zero, and the reverse option, is from buying the optional upgrade from the online cypher store that Zero has. So you have to pay more for the options, than just the regular 2022 version.

      Well it is a ridiculous review, the content is superficial ... however as the majority of riders are male it makes sense to connect with the audience with a masculine presentation. Imagine a Loreal or Maybelline, Estée Lauder ad with a male presenter, how receptive do you think the target audience would be ???

    From test riding one of these myself:
    The suspension and brakes belong on a bike that costs a third of what this does. Fit and finish also feels like a bike for a third of the price. The power isn't any more impressive than any upper middleweight naked, although it is very smooth and responsive/immediate, it is very heavy, although the weight is pretty low.

    I got to ride a Zero earlier this summer - lots of fun. But ... I agree with comments about the rider's skill. That corner at 2:50 ... Good thing that the truck wasn't closer. Confusing though ... why is the line dashed all around the corner? You wouldn't see that here in the US, and it's surprising to see it in the UK ... so literally trying understand what's up with it. Regarding miles/charge ... actually putting the bike to the test would be appreciated, as opposed to reiterating Zero's numbers.

    Nice review but strange range figures. I have the Zero FXE, a brilliant fast bike with amazing handling. But the city range is much higher than the motorway or mixed range. Why is it the opposite for the SRF? Btw, would really recommend the FXE as an urbab/suburban commuter, bust bike for this I've ever owned.

  • @JP-vt4pk
    @JP-vt4pk 2 роки тому +3

    A few questions ... What's the real world range (rather than manufacturer claimed as stated here)? What's the day to day experience taking it out on day rides with your mate's on petrol bikes? What's the experience taking it on a mixed motorway/country road/city commute? What's the suspension like? Can you take a bit of luggage on it? What's it like with a pillion?
    I'm not being scarcastic, I would genuinely like to know the answer to these questions! I'd very happily borrow the bike for a week or two and do a review for you if you like!

    • @caspianprince
      @caspianprince 2 роки тому +1

      I reliably get 100 miles out of mine. I ride every day, at least 50 miles a day, on all kinds of roads. I rarely ride in Sport mode (it's literally too fast for me most of the time), so I stick to Street, and I don't really break speed limits much. I stay away from dual carriageways where possible because it canes the battery. I put soft throwovers and a tailpack on it (containing the charge cable) - I've filled the frunk with the extra 6kW charger so no space there. Suspension is hard af and seems way oversprung, like an old ZXR. No linkage on the shock. Basically needs respringing for my weight and I'm no lightweight at 15 stone something and the bike's got an extra 12kg of charger on it too. I'll sort that next year when I've got a bit more cash. Handling is slightly peculiar at first but you get used to it - it needs a lot of lean, and taking by the scruff to get it over. It's both crap and ace with a pillion - the seat's really small and close so it's far too cramped, and the acceleration is insane and instant and appears totally without warning which is really unnerving for pillions, but at least they don't nut you in the back of the head when you change gear. I go out with my mates on their petrol things fairly frequently but we're all kinda old and nobody wants to ride more than 100 miles in a day any more or do 90mph anywhere. Charging is barely an inconvenience especially with 12kW AC - everybody's usually glad of the half hour break during which I put about 50 miles back in to it. I rode it to North Wales from Yeovil last year - 240 miles or so - planning to go again in a couple of weeks, no bother at all, took me about 8 hours, which is about an hour or so longer than I'd normally take (I go a particulary bendy route).
