I am so glad this is a dungeon. I recently found a queen location and decided to fix up the old black marble fort built around it. Not as safe as my Island base, but its a good location for resources And right above a great fishing spot. I was worried it was going to be another open world boss and that the fort would get wrecked.
it is such a tedious fight solo with all that summons, which makes it trickier to fight her in melee. i honestly feel like the difficulty is tailored for multiplayer. they should make the queen summon less for solo players.
@Sulzon Nicholson indeed there is nothing wrong with a challenging fight. Makes it more satisfying to win in the end. It would be boring if good foods, good armour and slashing and parrying would 100% guarantee you win all the time.
Well done, haven't got to use any magic yet, the way i killed her first time was with full armor(106) shield+sword and 30-40 ooze and bile bombs that took care of her spawns and like 40% of her hp, other than that just parrying with shield and slashing through, did use hp/stam pots too. Second time i had fenrir set with the claws and a himmin afl and went all sonic everywhere :D
I went in with the mage build, about level 20 for elemental and blood magic. Spawn skeletons, shield em, throw fireballs. That fight lasted more than ten ingame days, and I lost count of how many times I've died.
if you're running a mage build just keep your distance while throwing fireballs. avoid getting hit to preserve your bubble, and constantly re-cast when it breaks. i found that it's easier to fight the queen with this build on the highest level of the arena where you can keep running in circles.
I went mage/Zappy Bident thing and just cheesed her from the entrance. She'll put her tail there, allowing you to just Lazer it with frost. And when the Eitr runs out, an Atgeir (lightning one included) works too so long as you only use the first thrust as it reaches the farthest.
I really liked this fight. It was challenging and required good mechanics to win, and the challenge didn't come from cheap attacks. Yagluth was a far less entertaining fight.
Very nice. Unfortunately she resists pierce which is half of S&H's damage type. Interestingly enough unlike regular seekers the Queen is weak to frost! I think there's something to be tested out with staff of frost in the midrange, using embers on broods and sometimes the regular seekers. The gliding bubbles you do in this vid are huuuuuge and such a strong technique for solo mages.
i tried with the staff of frost on my first time bc i read from the wiki that she's weak to it, but for some reason, she is not giving me yellow digits, which could only mean she's taking normal damage to it. she also takes normal damage to slashing.
@@nolollygagging11 I think the wiki was wrong about her vulnerabilities. It said she's immune to fire which is clearly untrue. Seems like the wiki has been updated recently though, as now it only shows her resistant to pierce and immune to spirit (which makes sense). I believe all later bosses are resistant to pierce to discourage bow cheesing, though I don't see that being viable in this fight. Still, probably just there to reduce the effectiveness of the arbalest.
Me and my fiancé just shot at her with frost arrows (sometimes the fire staff or lightning stick) from the entrance and used our melee weapons to kill the seekers.. lol
He was using lingering stamina mead too so it might not be that it was going down slow so much as it was regenerating faster than what your used to seeing.
I'm starting to see an unpleasant trend in Valheim's bosses becoming health sponges. This video is twenty minutes long and not once did her tactics or abilities change. It's just go up the stairs, go down the stairs. Chip damage till your eyes glaze over. Yagluth is the same way. Way more health than was really necessary considering how much damage he can dish out in return. A boss that takes this long to kill is just baiting for cheese tactics to avoid player fatigue. She does more than enough damage and summons plenty of adds. She would be plenty challenging at half the health.
Came in expecting a cheese strategy and ended up watching a hero. No regrets, great job!
I could see that greed for the style kill at the end turning into "ah fuck it" lmao
was it that obvious? lol
i nearly fucked it up by doing that. 😅
Watching a pro go to work is always a good show!

that's a really good idea for a mistlands' base!
This is awesome! I thought of this protection melee mage idea and I wanted to see if anyone else thought of this and made it work. Good stuff!
When you go Eikthyr for boss battles- that's confidence. That was a KILLER fight. They really upped the complexity of this one.

@@nolollygagging11 I think the fight is perfect just requires learning strats

Ooze bombs or bile bomb is all you need

Holy sheet Kwama queen is pissed off

Dude there were a couple times i felt the stress for ya. gg man. working on soloing yug then this beast. should be a good time.
hope you have a blast 😄

Good Job!

I just lured her to the dungeon entrance, where she couldn't reach me and used demolisher, it took about 3 minutes :D
that's clever 😄
That was incredible
What foods did you eat for this fight? I find with magic food I tend to have pretty low healthy stamina. Your balance seemed solid.
seeker aspic, yggdrasil porridge and salad. i didn't feel like i need hp food since i can constantly put my bubble up to save me from attacks.
Me and my fiancé just shot at her with frost arrows (sometimes the fire staff or lightning stick) from the entrance and used our melee weapons to kill the seekers.. lol
by far the safest way to kill her. good job 😄
Is it just me, or does his stamina go down super slowly, even after Eikthyr wears off?
it's definitely just you. perhaps you failed to consider that running skill reduces stamina drain of sprinting.
He was using lingering stamina mead too so it might not be that it was going down slow so much as it was regenerating faster than what your used to seeing.
I just fought her with 2 of my friends and when she was 50% HP, she ran outside the dungeon 🤯
Is that normal, did it happen to you once ?

i can't blame you, the fight is indeed tedious 😄
Man I wish I wasn't as prepared for the queen in my fight :( I beat her without taking a hit
