I've been a fan since "Perfect Symmetry". My cover band did two or three songs from "Inside Out". Just loved singing these songs. It was great singing someone with such a nice tone, and great phrasing. Ray was my biggest influence on my own original material. I don't sing in a band anymore, but just a great memory.
Been a fan since 1991, when I discovered Awaken the Guardian then was in whith em until today. Loving all their albums. I'm really happy to see that as the years pass more and more people love them. They are a gem, one of the rare artists that didn't mind reinventing themselves with each release while still building on the precedent.
An ex girlfriend had introduced me to Awaken the Guardian n '89 and I was hooked. John Arch and Ray Alder are awesome! Interesting how that: Fates was able to change their style with different singers, yet both sound great. How on a tryout for Dream Theater's debut album, Arch sounds good but wasn't made for their style and J. Labrie is. Yet hearing this song by Alder and how his voice was made for Dream Theater and sub for Labrie.
Seven Stars Sometimes one photograph Can make the whole world fade You'll never be the same You'll never be the same While silent words were read The miles still divide You'll never be the same You'll never be the same Seven stars, destination.. Calling out my name Seven stars, destination Take me far away Then the slow walk we made Turned the hours into days I'll never be the same I'll never be the same What once was lost is found And I cannot deny I'll never be the same I'll never be the same Seven stars, destination Calling out my name Seven stars, destination Take me far away Yesterday, I could never see A future far beyond, forever I would stay if you wanted me I know where I belong, forever So now face the day, make the change When the story ends it now begins forever And I've felt the flame, seen the light Of your seven stars that burn at night, forever Seven stars, destination Calling out my name Seven stars, destination Take me far awa
I love this song. It reminds me of a dream I had when I was incarcerated in the feds. (No, I'm not.proud) It was night time and I was at the beach standing at the edge of the water. The sky was filled with stars. It was so beautiful. I could feel the wind blowing and the water at my feet. I remember looking back to the left of me and there stood a man's figure. It was darks do I couldn't see whom it was. Next to him stood a woman. She was with him but not with him. I turned back and looked up and 7 stars had form and alignment in the sky b4 me. It felt so real. I wonder who that couple was. This song reminds me of that. Weird, huh? For whomever reads this. I hope you enjoyed my story.
Highly underrated band. Fan since No Exit. Can hardly believe this superb song doesn’t have more views. Also love Ray’s work with Redemption.
The entire Theories Of Flight album is a masterpiece.

Awesome song…
Absolutely LOVE this song. Can't not sing along to it. Beautiful vocal melody and good composition.
Certainly one of the best albums of the decade.
This is probably the best song ever written by them ; the best OUTRO I have ever heard
Best band ever.No doubt
Seven Stars
Sometimes one photograph
Can make the whole world fade
You'll never be the same
You'll never be the same
While silent words were read
The miles still divide
You'll never be the same
You'll never be the same
Seven stars, destination..
Calling out my name
Seven stars, destination
Take me far away
Then the slow walk we made
Turned the hours into days
I'll never be the same
I'll never be the same
What once was lost is found
And I cannot deny
I'll never be the same
I'll never be the same
Seven stars, destination
Calling out my name
Seven stars, destination
Take me far away
Yesterday, I could never see
A future far beyond, forever
I would stay if you wanted me
I know where I belong, forever
So now face the day, make the change
When the story ends it now begins forever
And I've felt the flame, seen the light
Of your seven stars that burn at night, forever
Seven stars, destination
Calling out my name
Seven stars, destination
Take me far awa
