Fates Warning is a band with 32 years of musical experience that always continues to build up, refine its style and make progress. With every album this band shows that they are more and more musically matured, creating amazing pieces of art based on their knowledge and experience and the ephemerality of life. Great!
Could'nt of said it better. I always thought almost every album was a step up! And they've finally found a monstrous drummer to fill the little computer Mark Zonders place. They deserve it! Not to say Redemption does'nt have impressive melodic music and vocal compositions but the ball is now in their court to see who's the boss.
This song just had to have a video for it. Jim and Bobby on fire. The band has released 5 videos for TOF alone. Glad to see them doing well. They deserve much more recognition and awareness
Ray Alder - the master of vocal melody - can carry any composition. This is actually a fantastic song on every level. Great composition. One of their best in years. Love Ray's emotion in the verses. Still sounds fantastic after all these years.
One of the best metal voices of all time..dude can flat out wail..for 30 years now..sounds better than ever. I saw them on this tour and they were amazing!! Kudos boys!!
Sos We wait for days The hours can't replace That moment of walking away There's none to blame But buildings still remain Their empty halls fading away And now I I can feel the rain Falling on me.. I can see the waters rising Undermining me I can feel the rain Wash over me Can the places and the faces In the flood be saved Now the darkness fades And thoughts fall in to place Let the flood take away The pain of yesterday Sink or swim Sink or swim So now I I can feel the rain Falling on me I can see the flood is rising Undermining me I can feel the rain Wash over me Can the places and the faces In the flood be saved
been listening to them since no exit was new, this is by far my favorite album, theories of flight just nailed it, EVERY song is so fluid, powerful, and emotional. in my top albums of all time.
In my opinion the highlight of the album deserved to be a video..sensational ! We wait for days The hours can't replace That moment of walking away There's none to blame But buildings still remain Their empty halls fading away And now I I can feel the rain Falling on me I can see the waters rising Undermining me I can feel the rain Wash over me Can the places and the faces In the flood be saved Now the darkness fades And thoughts fall in to place Let the flood take away The pain of yesterday Sink or swim Sink or swim So now I I can feel the rain Falling on me I can see the flood is rising Undermining me I can feel the rain Wash over me Can the places and the faces In the flood be saved

Ray, JIm, Bobby and Joey: The Dream Team of all times!! The video is brilliant!!! Thanks to FW and Insideoutmusic for more a masterpiece!!! The Brazil waits on the next tour!!
Just simply blows my mind... was listening to them in the early 90's, lost track of them, found them again almost 30 years later, saw them live by pure chance recently and this is the real SH!T....Most beautiful thought through music I couldn't imagine....WOW! WOW! WOW!!!
Well. I think Rays side project was in step maybe a little better up to this one except this one raised it up a notch. To bad Ray got out of Redemption and moved to Spain probably fell in love with some Spanish woman. But I hope you go listen to them if you have'nt aleady. One of my favorites is transendence. Snowball on Judgement Day, The art of Loss, This mortal coil. All their albums are fantastic, hats of to Mr. Van Dyke. and of course Ray Balderrama!
Less than 15000 views is just a shame... After so many years, when will people understand that Fates Warning is one of the best prog-metal band around???
Bobby has been unleashed!!! Like I've said before they just keep getting better and better as the years go on. Like Jack Hammer said below metal for grownups. Not over the top like other progressive bands, great melody, great playing, and that voice they always leave you wanting more! Ray, Jim, Joey and Bobby, I think they've found the lineup! Going to check tour dates, saw then last year, they were fantastic. T
Airbender 4 how can you just dismiss a genious percussionist like Mark Zonder so easily? his unique style fit fw perfectly. i see all replacements as secondary....like replacing Ray or Jim...the new percussionist, while talented, doesn't give his own unique sound to fw and is too reliant on the double bass to do the job. i take nothing away from him, but he's no Zonder by a mile
Oh, I realize he's no Mark Zonder. He is one of the best ever as far as I'm concerned, he was the drummer when I first heard this fantastic band, "Perfect Symmetry", he is incredible. But when I heard Bobby on this album, he just blew my expectations of his drumming out of the water. I think the double kick really adds a heavier sound to Fates. Bands need to grow or they will stagnate. I think they've grown. Mark is also one of my favorite drummers of all time.....And I'm a singer(lol)...I think Bobby is doing some intricate playing, again not Mark, but I always thought of Bobby as a metal drummer, but again just really impressed by his playing on this cd.
Match this, Dream Theater. First break hits and I check the time, expecting it to be around 5 minutes because that's how rich and full it appears... it's 2. A full prog metal movement, only two minutes long. Only then I realize that the entire thing clocks little over 4.30.... Breathtaking is not even a word, man. I'm floored.
I really crave for the 80' Fates Warning, with it's deep and fantasious lyric themes, and the powerful vocal range of Jon Arch. But I can't say I dislike the more dark and mellow oriented one, and the drum fills provide by Jarzombek sound really badass.
Completely awesome....period. My favorite all-time band. Best cd of the year, and next year. Unless they come out with something that surpasses this. Hint-Hint!!! And yes Metal for grownups!!!
What an amazing masterpiece!!! Best thing FW have done since "A Pleasant Shade of Grey", in my oppinion. And this song is one of the best. Congratulations!!!! Come to Spain soon, please!!!
If you like this, do yourself a favor and check out Ghost Ship Octavius "Delirium" album ..intelligent prog metal but not the usual math metal, more open creative and very powerful. Various textures and heaviness, think Anubis Gate or Vanden Plas but with more balls, Rich baritone voice, excellent, creative guitar work and, of course, veteran drummer showing how it's done. ( Adon Fanion, Matt Wicklund, and Van Williams )
Great song from a great album... The Jarzombek-Vera rhythm section sounds tighter than ever. FW has been around for 35 years, and their quality has never degraded. I'd actually say the band's getting better with time, like a good wine!
This song reminds me Porcupine Tree but a bit more freaked out on the drums! The relaxed (but technical) drumming from Gavin Harrison is more classy. Either way, both drummers fit perfectly on their gig!
MikeVonDoom I was wondering when this drummer joined up? I know Mike Portnoy was in this band for a bit & am not sure where he is band wise? I think sometimes he teams up with Derek Sherinian & some ither underground names
Chris Geoffrey Bobby's been in the band for almost 10 years now, and he's featured on their last two albums. Portnoy is in the Winery Dogs and Flying Colors, but also does session work with artists like Neal Morse
You mean Bobby Jarzombek? Bobby joined Fates Warning in 2007. Mike Portnoy played some live gigs in 2005 and 2012. He is currently in the Neal Morse band, Transatlantic, The Winery Dogs, Flying Colors, Metal Allegiance, or, in other words, every single friggin' band who might be able to fill the void left by Dream Theater. x)
One of Rays other projects Engine was ok but compared to Fates Warning and Redemption it did'nt meet up. Bernie Versales was in both Redemption and Engine.
.while I really like their latest music, I hope they start incorporating the more complex writing style they use to have into their music as well as the more straight-forward sound of the last two albums.
Been jamming Fates since 88. Theories Of Flight is BY FAR their very best album.
Fates Warning is a band with 32 years of musical experience that always continues to build up, refine its style and make progress. I've been a fan since "Night on Broken" and "Awaken the Gaurdian!" Ray is a few months older than me so yeah I'm old!
Jim Matheos is the mastermind of the band .
yes he is. I've met him a few times and have pics with him and the rest of the band.
Same situation with me . I met him and Ray in Budapest 10 days ago. He is one of the most underrateted and the most unpretending musician.
This song just had to have a video for it. Jim and Bobby on fire.
The band has released 5 videos for TOF alone. Glad to see them doing well. They deserve much more recognition and awareness
3 videoclips and 1 lyric video. 4 of 8 songs, not bad at all.
Why they did not blow up, is dis heartening. I have been a fan since Silent Cries. Metal will never die, as long as I live.
Ray Alder - the master of vocal melody - can carry any composition. This is actually a fantastic song on every level. Great composition. One of their best in years. Love Ray's emotion in the verses. Still sounds fantastic after all these years.

Every track on this album is superb. They've outdone themselves again. See you in Haarlem!
Killer vocals, as always from Ray.
This album it's pure gold!

Album of the year. Nothing else comes even close to this.

not my usual type of music but this is fucking sick!

Carlos Fernández Martínez
I totally agree Carlos! This
release is awesome!
He lives in Madrid nowwwwww
If not for Loudwire, I would have completely overlooked their album. One of the better metal albums of 2016... especially after the In Flames letdown!

MERAVIGLIOSI E DEVASTANTI COME SEMPRE...........GRANDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Fates warning a melhor banda do universo
I liked them anyway and i can also hear tones of Opeth which is a double-plus!
This video should have 20000000 views.
Why the FUCK this band doesnt get the recognition they deserve?
Cause quality simply slips through stupid masses like quicksand... let's consider ourselves lucky for knowing and appreciating this gem!-)
Always a Fates Warning fan.
superbbbb
THANK YOU. Fates rules!
love the Fate, this was a great album!
I have two words for any Dream Theater fan…. Fates warning.
I love Fates Warning..
One of Rays other projects Engine was ok but compared to Fates Warning and Redemption it did'nt meet up. Bernie Versales was in both Redemption and Engine.
