There was a really good mod for The Simpsons Hit and Run that came out recently called Simpsons Hit and Run Mod of Stupidity that essentially had you play a round of South Park Rally for one of its missions.
I owned the N64 version of South Park Rally. Recalled the main Nintendo mags (being N64 Magazine and Nintendo Official Magazine) gave the game high praise. I got the game and I honestly had a fun time with it, even to the point of saying it was better than Mario Kart 64 in terms of having more stuff to do in single player for increase playability.
We had South Park Rally on PS1, which was unfortunately only up to 2-Player; which was annoying as there were 4 of us who enjoyed it. I didn't find out that it was a really disliked game until a decade later (and that the Dreamcast ver was 4P).
@@Rountree1985 True there is nothing phenomal about it but there is no real Mario Kart competitor on the market, so that's a good opportunity for anyone who owns the rights on the South Park IP. They could sell it as the Mario Kart for PS4/Xbox/PC.
I know the 3 retro S.P. games get a bit of hate,, I've always loved them. South Park, Chefs Luv Shack and S.P. RALLY. RALLY in particular is pretty dang replayable. As are the others.
South park rally is a good game dare I say almost great the only things I hated about the game were the pink eye power up box and the Easter🥚 race at times the CPU can be cheating B*stard's It still deserves a remake alone for replay ability as well as a wide range of new characters and areas of south park a developer could add into the game would be insane Rally is better than the first South Park game no contest.
I loved this game as a kid and I had no idea that the were 3 other versions as I had the ps1. Also oh no... 23:58 the " Red Rocket " is a episode reference. My favorite thing in this game was doing Random racers as it would give you random characters and most of the time you got someone that wasn't good ... like Jesus or the Visitor. I might have to replay this again.
two little things u forgot to mention from the PC version: u can't turn to ur left while braking, while u DO can turn to ur right (it wasn't nice to find out) 20:18 the alien does this in the fourth race, the spring washing one. he just goes between the checkpoints really slowly without even trying to grab the underwear. this was made for u to crash against him if ur distracted and lose ur underwear (i figured that out cuz that's how i remember he even is on the race lmao)
Great review. This game deserves a remake. Just a quick question: is there any way of playing with a gamepad on PC? I believe I tried some years ago but somehow I couldn't.
I have 0 clue if it does, but I tried my ps4 controller and it didn't work, so guess you got to use a gamepad from back them to match the processing power of the game.
I hated the racing to each checkpoint objective. The devs should've just made this game a regular kart racer. Idk what the hell they were thinking by doing that. The other objectives in the game would've worked better if they were in a battle mode. It's too bad we'll probably never see another south park kart racer since matt & trey weren't really into the idea in the first place and now only seem interested in the rpg genre. I just wish they would find a studio that can make a fully fleshed out south park kart racer. I would even love a south park hit & run kind of game. I would've loved that canceled game we were supposed to get back on gamecube, xbox, and ps2. We're supposed to be getting a new south park game from thq nordic, so I guess we'll see what it is. It's rumored to be a multiplayer.
I never got this attitude.. I loved the checkpoints.. It was only annoying the first couple of times memorizing the map.. Me and my friends loved this game
i've recently found a vhs at a thrift that's just someone playing south park rally. it's kind of cool but i thought it was a shrek 2 vhs because that was the case that was on it and they put tape on it so we can't take it out iguess
Hi, I had to relook this up and I remember it being a pain, but from what I remember you need to run the configuration option from the windows start menu and when you set the aspect ratio and audio it should work fine!
You first install it through Administrator and then run it through compatibility mode set to windows 98. You also need to run the configuration option from the windows start menu and when you set the aspect ratio and audio it should work fine!

There was a GameBoy Colour South Park game, but was never released due to the GBC being targeted towards kids.

The N64 version has less characters and some of the maps are missing small details or whole sections compared to the Dreamcast version.
