- Saved a bunch of time on my first split thanks to a new jump in the room of awakening that happens at around 7:40. Also got better amiibo RNG compared to my previous PB.

Does anyone consider what happens to the poor unfortunate saps below link when he is done with a flying machine/dropped a ruby from the sky? Like it happens enough that someone has to have gotten hit by now right? Also gratz on another WR Gym. I suspect this one will last for 48 hours or less before someone breaks it because that's just how this game is going right now.

When this game dropped I pulled a number out of my head and said 26 minutes for fastest speedrun completion. I don't know if that will ever be possible but man watching the time drop in the last few weeks is amazing. Heres to new speed tech!
Long cutscenes, long tutorial, with BotW at 23 minutes, 26 seems really hard.
I'm never surprised with speed runs though!
Nah, unless someone discovers some way to skip the sky islands or something, then there’s no chance at 26. There’s probably barely any time save in this WR too
Well if intro skip is voted in and if the timer starts at 0s from the room of awakening (although its not what is currently proposed), sub 30 would probably be possible. But with the 7 minutes intro and all of the cutscenes and loading screens I dont see how it could be done
@@brycet93mao no way the run is near the lowest it can get. We're going to see the run drop like 10 minutes from new glitches and tricks eventually I bet. Games always drop their time by a lot especially after the first year or so.

Why do you even need to talk to the 2nd construct to get the battery? Is there anything that even uses the battery in this new route?
If you don't get the energy cell before the fuse shrine a construct will give it to in a cutscene once you complete it which I'm sure is slower

I watched this live. In the beginning of the stream Gymnast made every conceivable error in just about every split. It looked like this wasn't his day and that he will not be able to produce a half-decent time. And then we got a new world record!

Souldn't runs be done with the latest version provided?
Leaderboards were split to "latest" and "pre 1.1.2" because a lot of glitches were patched with this update. Some peoples are running on latest, but the run is longer.
There's a separate board for pre and post 1.1.2, the WR for 1.1.2 is a bit over 53 minutes iirc
glitches such as zuggling and duplication, which are extremely important to any% are patched/don't work as well past a certain update, which is why there are two categories. also this isn't new, for example majora's mask 3d speedruns are done without the update because some glitches got patched

After the Recall shrine, is there a purpose to running out of the cave before fast traveling?
Apparently running outside reduces the loading time of the fast travel. I guess it's faster than just fast traveling immediately, surely the speedrunners would know

I dont think it ever was ? Beating it is required for the Ganondorf fight trigger to be active in all versions.
@@zXd12 really? i could've sworn the route used to be zuggle, then use the lever to to fall all the way down to the ganondorf fight, unless i forgot something
@@randomt800kiddo2 It was "zuggle clip from lynel to army, boss rush, ganondorf" until the boss rush skip was found. then it was "zuggle clip from the castle cooking pot room to army, ganondorf" and now we have this run. If you manage to find an exemple where army is skipped I would be really interested.
@@zXd12 ah, i see. i must've confused the zuggle clip with skipping the entire thing to ganondorf. thanks for clearing it up for me, although im sure eventually there'll be a way to skip the army with how things have been going with this speedrun lol

@@davesnow7133t sorta is, but speedrunning is actually quite a collaborative effort. the community shares glitches and time saves with everyone else so that they can collectively decrease completion times for any%/100%, etc.
I've never played this, but I'm guessing that's a pretty fast time

This game if ur not speed running would take 50+ hours
It's 50-60h for main quests only. 200h for 100% (using glitches, advance movements). So 300+ probably if you play casually or even 400+

You only zuggled 4 times at 39:50 but you were still able to 1 cycle Ganondorf like that. How is that possible? I zuggle more than 4 times in the exact way you do and it takes 6 cycles to get through the first phase. I don't get it. I am on version 1.1.1
Ganondorf only takes stacked damage from zuggled weapons properly on 1.0. In later versions it only sort of works if the zuggled weapons have different sized hitboxes.

Its midair sort duplication. It was patched in 1.1.2. There are a lot of videos explaining how to do it.
Inventory shift duplication was found a week ago in 1.1.2 but its uses are more limited.

Why does that weapon do so much damage to Ganondorf?
from what i understand is that he copies the weapon multiple times,
so even though it appears he only has 1 weapon, he actually deals the damage of the amount of copied weapons the game thinks he has.
@@chrismeulen8108yes, zuggling is essentially just holding multiple weapons at once. that's why on version 1.0.0, when you drop your zuggled weapons, you drop multiple duplicates of that weapon. it's also why the weapon clips inside the master sword during that cutscene
