That’s a beautiful handgun. I don’t think the chances are very high that I will see one locally, but thank you for sharing it with us.
Yes it is, thanks for watching sir!
Hopefully you can get your hands on one, they’ll have to produce more.
Beautiful piece
They’re extremely nice pistols!
I agree with you on the optics plate. If you're paying 2000 dollars for a pistol it better be optics ready or have some sort of optics plate if you chhose to go that route.
No doubt!
I’m in my sixth century and my eyes are just not what they use to be. Optics compatible would be a good.
The whole community is begging for it
I bet Nate over at wager machine works there in Tennessee would be able to put an RMR cut on it, so you can run the new 507c competition optic. He has like 1 week turn around times.
Probably! I’ve heard good things about Wager, but never used them. I saw another company doing the Dawson plate cut on these that the staccato uses. Just think that should be a standard option instead of aftermarket picking up the slack.
@@TNRayyeah I get what you mean for sure. I wish gun companies would offer them with direct fit optic cuts from the factory, kind of like palmetto state armory does with their daggers, or like gray guns does with their slides for p320s. That dwx is definitely a beautiful gun though, man. Makes me wonder how it would feel compared to a p320 legion type setup with weight, bore axis, and just overall ergonomics.
@@wtfmrkratos so weight wise, they’re almost identical. I feel like the slide runs faster on the sig, just in my personal experience comparing the two side by side. But I also feel like the trigger on the DWX is WAY better, even with the trigger job I’ve got on my Legion.
Big thing is, get use to whichever one and you’ll probably shoot it more consistently/better than the other. Legion has the 2011 ish grip angle, which I prefer, but if you prefer the cz grip angle, the DWX is awesome.
@@TNRay awesome thank you for the reply!
@@wtfmrkratos you bet!!
Man, we need 29-round 170mm magazines and an optic cut.
Optic cut is a must! I tried not to rant about it too much but I couldn’t help it lol
As for the mags, they’re P10-F magazines, so mag extensions and extended mags are available. Maybe not 29 rounders though 😂
Thanks, as always, for watching my friend!
@@TNRay yeh I’ve been looking around to see if I wanted to go down the rabbit hole of modifying one for open 3-gun. So far all that is available is 140mm 23 round mags.
Sounds like an opening in the market for someone 😅 I would imagine, as more of these are produced there will be more market support
@@TNRay yeah and I think they will likely offer an optic ready version soon as well
@@tonsofgunsoffun8516 hopefully! They should, anyways
Would you recommend for self defense purposes? Or is it more competition?
For home defense, it would be a great option.
For carry, I would consider other options. I’m not a large framed individual, so I couldn’t concealed carry this firearm. They do have the DWX compact, which I would think is better for concealed carry.
However, home defense, it’s a great option. Throw a light on it, run it
@@TNRay Yeah I was looking at the compact version for that purpose but trying to convince myself it's worth 2k 😂 I love Dan Wesson though
@@daniel-eo3rz 😅 I should be testing the compact soon! Just make sure you get the model with the pic rail if you go that route
@@TNRay Yeah since I don't do competition the compact seems to make more sense but I just don't know if it's that much better than per se a Walther PDP in the way I would be using it. If that makes sense...
@@daniel-eo3rz a walther PDP would fill that role excellently as well. There’s a ton of great options for home defense. Realistically, if you’re protecting your family you want something with a great capacity, reliability, and something you shoot really well.
The CZ Shadow 2 is probably beter and cheaper, no?
Better? That’s subjective. But also depends on your purpose. Shadow 2 is about 5-600 cheaper, but I guarantee it’s nowhere near as smooth/clean as this gun and the DWX is gonna have a much better trigger.
Better? No. DWX all the way!
Is it 600 better? Cz shadow is a great gun to shoot.
That’s all subjective, I can say what I think is better but that doesn’t mean anyone else will agree
How is the DMX if you compare it to the phoenix redback heavy (thinking of buying on of them)?
So first, the DWX is significantly cheaper than the Redback.
As far as fit, finish, smoothness, etc… the Redback takes the cake.
The Redback has a better trigger.
You can get the Redback optics ready.
But…
It depends what your purpose/intent is with it.
Comparing the two would be like comparing a race between a mustang gt and a Lamborghini… both are nice, both are fast, but you can spend more and have a way nicer ride with the Lamborghini.
@@TNRaythank you so much for the prompt and highly informative answer on the DWX and Redback. You certainly gave me much to think about.
P.S: regarding the price in Europe the DWX costs around 3400$ and the redback heavy around 3700-4150$
@@Wiede_ certainly!
Oh, that makes sense! In the American market, there’s only one Phoenix importer (The Attic Imports), so they’re hard to get.
The DWX is about 2000 US and the Redback Heavy is (I think) closer to 4000 US
If I was spending the same money, or close, with both options then the Redback takes the cake. The slide feels like it’s on roller bearings. Oh and you have the option to choose DA/SA or SAO, depending on your needs.
@@TNRay Thank you again and also for your video on the redback! I will probably take the redback in SA then, as the trigger is just „crisper“ and I‘m just a hobby shooter.
@@Wiede_ thank you for watching a leaving a comment! Glad I could be of some help
Does the grip feel like an sp01 or shadow 2?
I would say it resembles the shadow 2 grip more than the sp01 but I don’t have a ton of experience with either
Does it fit in a Safariland holster?
Not that I know of, but I may be wrong
Would buy it if it had an optic cutout.
This is the number one complaint about this pistol. And I completely agree
Is this Faster than CZ SHADOW 2?
That’s hard to say without shooting them back to back. But it’s also gonna depend on the shooter.
The shadow has the benefit of low slide mass and low bore axis, but the DWX has the benefit of the 1911 style trigger.
@@TNRay you are right.. But can you atleast tell me is it on par with the speed of cz shadow 2?
@@wtgtagaming7441 I can’t honestly give you an answer without comparing them side by side and watching things like slide speed, muzzle dip, etc… I know you want a definite answer but I’m not gonna bull crap you and act like I have that
Good ol' jootoob deleted my comment.
Sorry to hear that
@@TNRay, I didn't say anything bad. Who knows?
@martyyoung3611 YT is doing some shady stuff on my channel lately. They took down my latest video saying I was promoting the sales of firearms… it was just a normal review and I actually said in the video I recommended against buying it 🤣
@@TNRay, They're constantly unsubbing me from gun channels. I hate them more every day.
@@martyyoung3611 wish there was a different platform worth actually posting on
need optic cut and needs to have weight reduce
I agree on optic cut, weight is great for recoil mitigation though
For competition, you want weight. As far as optics go, modular systems are gross. Much better to get the slide cut for your specific optic.
@@wtfmrkratosI don’t understand this argument/mentality… what is exactly gross about optic cuts? Whats gross is having to spend more unnecessary money and time in the shop with your gun after purchase? I’m a CZ fanboy but it’s just about my only gripe about the company. If a gun is made for competition the company knows it’s very likely that buyers want modern optics. Other companies make guns where if anything you just have to buy a adapter plate if your optic doesn’t follow a certain spec. It’s just a backwards mentality.
I understand both sides of this argument.
I want companies to offer optics, but I don’t like having to use plates. That being said, no company is going to offer a variant with every single optic footprint on the market, so plates on factory guns are almost necessary. However… why not offer both as an option? Offer optic ready models and non-optic ready models, and charge a hundred bucks less for the irons only gun.
@@richardrackley2430 it’s not optic cuts that are gross, it’s having to use plates. I believe companies should offer optic cuts, but not modular ones. You should be able to choose a firearm with a specific optic cut from the manufacturer.
