McKendrick Report 9

Good news. Two new mountain goat kids are born on McKendrick Mountain in June of 2023. Each nanny must introduce her new kid to the rest of the herd. It's an exciting time when a new kid is accepted as a member of the herd. The voluntary recreation closure is succeeding. By stepping back, we allow the mountain goats to slowly increase their population.

This is exactly the same herd composition and interaction I watched during my goat research so many years ago in coastal BC! So cool to see the behaviours between individuals. Thanks for sharing this. Mountain goats are amazing animals.
