Once the bear hit that edge I knew it was game over for anyone, except the mountain goat. It was too steep to climb back up. I was never expecting that ending though. Nature is cruel but it's a reality.
Once the zoom lense money shot was abandoned at the point that the bear supposedly fell I knew it was a fake. It would be unconscionable for that part to be missed in filming since you'd have to actively turn the camera off as he's about to fall.
We humans learn a lot from animals. I learned so much from wild cats. Even if they fall down from a tree, they land on their feet. I’ve seen cats chase squirrels to the top of the tree 😂

As an experienced goat hunter, I can attest that they fall too, although rarely. At the base of the most treacherous cliffs the bones of numerous goats are proof positive that they are fallible on occasion.

But my point was to appreciate the timing of the incident, in that how often does anyone get to see, let alone video such an event, especially in such inaccessible, remote and hostile locations? The camera person would have had to either spend a very long time in such a place or set up time lapse cameras to get such a rare footage.

As an experienced goat hunter, I can attest that they fall too, although rarely. At the base of the most treacherous cliffs the bones of numerous goats are proof positive that they are fallible on occasion.
