- This is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first interview post the release of Heeramandi with Bollywood Hungama’s Rohit Khilnani. He speaks about how he agreed to make a series for Netflix. And also he explains how a filmmaker should love his actors but not be friends with them. He says the only actor he is friends with is Salman Khan. Heeramandi is out on Netflix.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali & Manisha Koirala - KHAMOSHI was a gem ( Devdas comes 2nd) . Their spark is still evident.. They should've worked more in the 90's. Manisha could have been many things had he navigated roles for her then !

There's no question of an "if" for Season 2 but really down to when because the way he has had an open ending to Season 1 makes me believe there is more to come. His interviews too are like an extension of his films....the same backdrop and lighting, candles burning at the back. This man is truly an icon.

They say perfection is an illusion or rather an elusive horizon- but Sir SLB is a perfectionist. His every shot is just perfect- i dont care if his movies do well at the box office or not, I just watch for the pure visual spectacle. The composition of every shot is pure perfection. You pause any frame, and it makes a perfect picture.
I wish the story telling was as grand as the sets

Immaculate series, no one could've done it better than Sanjay Leela Bhansali, love it
No other Indian director can match the grandeur of his cinematography
He is known as a perfectionist ...each and every frame is heeramandi was exquisite , from set, lighting , costume, jewellery, acting , dialogue delivery , dance and nakhra ....however how come his masterful eye couldn't see beyond his love for his neice that she is a miscast for this role .....firstly alam is a 16 to 17 year old as per script , introvert , romantic , innocent and pure and no where shermin fits the bill ....how much use of lighting and make up and costume u take ...shermin looks very old ...close to 30, mature , she has that arrogant , vixen vibe about her ...and that role requires a girl who looks cute , innocent , virginal ....I think aditi, sanjida , alia bhat , tejaswini prakash, the girl who played waheeda daughter , the girl who played younger manisha ...all are suited ....and above all shermin can't ACT...she had two note expression for every scene ....dead set catatonic wooden expressions....smirking in dramatic scenes....shedding a tear from one eyes ....she is what bring the show down ....I am going yo watch heeramandi again and will fast forward all her scenes ...apart from her and taha ...all other characters were fabulous
