There was negativity spread around her.. because they wanted to keep Karishma raveena Kajol in limelight.. nepotism existed even then. She was snubbed at awards too. But Manisha had a loyal following in 90s and the filmmakers trusted her a lot. She worked with all legends. Even madhuri in koffee with Karan said she thought Manisha was her competitor when kjo was pushing Juhi’s name. She just lived on her own terms and didn’t care so much about being popular or anything and didn’t have much guidance
Rekha would've been gorgeous in this role. But, Manisha was such a brilliant choice. She is a royal and behaved that way. She's so beautiful. Somehow I only remember her as a tender and delicate girl from 1942 love story. She played ghe strong character of Mallika jaan just too well.
