KUEHL KUEST thanks for adding me to IG! We love Michigan! It would be great to meet up! Never had any chances to meet up with other youtubers! I will check out your channel! Nick and Missy
You bet... have been wanting to do a Michigan meet up...we have only been on UA-cam for 5 months and it’s been crazy...but totally love this diverse outdoor community...we also livestream sometimes too...will keep in touch!
Thanks for another jaunt in the bush. Just back from a week bear hunting in Northern Ontario and sorting gear. Drago bag was perfect size and carry for the stand. Hi to Missy....
Dennis Rogers man, I’m jealous! I wish the bush was in my backyard! Bear hunting sounds like a good time! Missy says hi back to ya! Thanks again for watching!
hey man , love the video! new to dispersed camping, and unfortunately new SEDAN owner.. my question is, can i park on the side of a trail if i cant get any further in my car and hike to a deeper campsite? if so where should i leave the dnr paperwork?
@@desertlawgaming154 @DesertlawGaming 15 I am a southern Michigan boondocker out of necessity. I wish I knew more places that were ok with it. I've stayed at muddy fields, been chased out of places, stayed at Pilot Truck Stops, Waterloo Portage Lake for electricity but that's $20 a night unless you stay at a 50 amp then it's $25. Brighton is $25 and they have showers. I've stayed in WalMarts and Meijers parking lots; the TA's, Pilots, and Love's showers are $15.00 but the Exit 145 Truck Stop off I-94 are $5.00 and great (with towels). I've stayed with Boondocker's Welcome hosts which are great -- mostly free, electricity, water, and local info, but limited -- some "close" for the winter, some don't allow dogs, some have twisty driveways, some are just for one night, some offer nothing but a place to park (no electricity, no water) and I had one unfortunate situation where the host wouldn't answer the phone, texts, or messages to give me guidance to get there when I was so close so another night at WalMart, but by far Boondockers Welcome is a good resource. It got down into the teens but my Mr. Buddy heater kept me warm when there was no power. (I have a 15 pound propane tank with an adaptor to Mr. Buddy. Those little green cylinders are expensive!! Over $5 for one pound! Gas stations are around $20.00 for 15 pounds. Propane distributors are $10.00. Now I am talking about exchanging empty tank for full tank.) I've camped all over Michigan including the U.P. but right now I'm focusing on lower S.E. If anyone has info on more spots, let me know.
Hey I am in Sturgis going though the hollidays thanks for all imput how old are u was you born in Michigan text me back when u get time, would like to join camping sits. We go to Storms Bear capital. Once a year four wheeling a Blast! Charlie in Michigan P. S. My fathe4 and I always go to St. Igenes sorry spelling wrong! Great Memories in St. Ig!
The rules are kind of funny. Not needed as long as any standard 2 wheel drive vehicle can navigate the 2 track then you don’t need one. But the minute you need to access your 4 wheel drive you need it.
@@WintersKamp That's not entirely accurate. As long as your vehicle is street licensed you do not need a sticker unless you plan on riding on a designated and signed orv route. You can find a list of routes and map on the Michigan DNR website.
@@schultzoutdoors8799still not entirely accurate, you do not need an orv sticker for any licensed vehicle even if you’re on a designated orv route so long as that route is passable by any conventional 2wd drive vehicle, but once you have to use 4wd for any orv route, now your vehicle is considered to be an orv and is now required to have a sticker along with a trail permit for some reason, but that’s only if you’re traveling on orv routes that’s not passable with 2wd drive.
Thank you for explaining the detail about how to use GPS map to find a campsite.
Thank you! Since the DNR doesn't provide a spreadsheet for Michigan State Forests dispersed camping, Gaia is pretty good for that!
Being new to the region I found this incredibly helpful. Thanks for the help. Peace.
Mark Sims you’re welcome!
Looks like you're a fellow Michigander! cool! thanks for the info on dispersed camping.
Jeff Richards I wish I loved in Michigan. So much more to do!
Sorry, I'm a new subscriber. After watching some of your older videos, I see you are from Indiana. Like your channel, keep the videos coming.
Jeff Richards thanks man! Much appreciated!
Nice FJ. Do most of my camping in NE lower peninsula, less problems finding sites.

Love your video! Love your Goldens! I have a Golden myself and go van camping with him. ;-)
Thank you! They are such an awesome breed! They absolutely love to camp with us!
Awesome View! I have a stock Jeep Liberty with slightly larger tires, would I be able to make it down one of these roads?
Yes, absolutely! Small compact cars with low profile tires would be pushing it but your Liberty would be just fine!
Im confused with the campfires? The permit laws says we cant burn trees that are dead and have fallen? Is it really a big deal?
what kind of setup do you have is that just a cb? or something more?
Cool, but what parts in south lower Michigan is available publicly?
hey man , love the video! new to dispersed camping, and unfortunately new SEDAN owner.. my question is, can i park on the side of a trail if i cant get any further in my car and hike to a deeper campsite? if so where should i leave the dnr paperwork?
Great question. Your car parked out of the shouldn’t be a problem. The paperwork should go where you actually setup camp.
@@WintersKamp thank you so much! Really appreciate the response
Great info. Exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Good stuff. Very informative 🙏👍😄
Paul Betka Thank you!
For a split second I thought you were in my spot in Manistee 😂
Anyone camping with a bike can use Komoot, part of it is free but their is a premium option that's about $60 a year
Thank you, can’t afford camping fees, but love to do it. Is there anyone out there that’s traveling alone that would partner up on dispersed camping.
I’ll be a traveler here soon; going to manistee then empire area

My daughter ruined the trip to Manestee! Bummer!
Manestee I love can’t get enough of of her can’t wait would like some one to travel with that has there own money JS!
Dispersed camping is the best!
Do you need an orv tag to go out on the two tracks?

Nice Video. I did a similar one to help people understand the different land types.
Thanks for watching and subscribing! I saw your video! I love camping by rivers!
@@WintersKamp thanks again!
Huron Manistee forest is Federal land and has different rules than State land...fyi
does anybody know if dispersed camping is allowed during the michigan quarantine?
mochiTV according to the Michigan DNR site, dispersed camping is suspended till May 15th.
@@WintersKamp do you know any dispersed camping 100 miles radius from Troy,Mi? TY
Solo Camping , near Pickney is some hike in dispersed camping.
@@WintersKamp Can i fit there with my 12f popup? or hike only?
@@SoloCampingAdventures You can disperse camp with a camper.
Landgrid shows property ownership and is free, thats what i use
Looks like cedar river
How much do permits cost?
Jenny Mortenson free. Just print them and you’re good to go.
www.michigan.gov/documents/dnr/PR4134_CampRegCard_383467_7.pdf
@@WintersKamp You can also stop by a DNR office and there are usually the document forms in a cubby outside their door.
If I drove 8-9 hours to camp in the middle of nowhere AWAY FROM PEOPLE and some DNR clown came to harass me... God I hate government.
Constructive criticism is that music sounds like a broken record!
Now that's how you camp
Hate to ask but doing a trip soon, please DM on where this was! Looking for spots like this!!
Who in Michigan goes camping without a small chainsaw?
It’s not your fault
No matter where you go the DNR will be there telling you that you can't be there . Dam Near Russians.
can u be any more exciting
thats why they are closing so many forrst roads. dispersed camping is illeagle and destroying so many places.
