In regards to what you mention @20:30 Beyond Skyrim isn't touching any vanilla features (menues and the like) as it functions more as a DLC expansion, you can play Skyrim and Cyrodiil in one playthrough (think Tamriel Rebuilt). The reason Skyblivion fully recreated the Oblivion menus is because it is a standalone remake (you can't play in the Skyrim world space) so they do not need to keep any of Skyrim's features that they don't want.

A great point; I had not considered that. I still hope we can get a character screen that shows up only when the player is in Cyrodiil. Not sure if that is possible.
      Thank you for your comment.

I think doing this would also require SKSE, something BSK has actively avoided to ensure compatibility

is that true for skyblivion? i mean that means that it might be one of those more complicated installs, like FO4's FOLON mod, i don't like that idea, i wish it would do both just have some kind of opening racemenu setup and the choice to do the skyblivion route, gosh i really hope this isn't the case, because i hate those really complicated installs, they make you think twice in installing them, i haven't wanted to touch FOLON for months because of the complicated mod setup that won't allow a simple Vortex profile switch to play the mod.
i like to have a profile set up so i can play both games and not just be stuck with the one.

@@5226-p1e I think Skyblivion got premission to get their own steam page, just like Enderall. Enderall is interesting, because its a completely seperate skyrim installation which comes with SKyUI and SKSE by default. I wouldn't be suprised if Skyblivion will function the same way, if thats the case all you would need to do is install skyblivion like any free game on steam (assuming you have skyrim and oblivion in your steam library)

i get the feeling that FO4's update wasn't to fix the game, it was to break the game for folks to embrace FO76 instead.
i mean why didn't they come back and attempt to fix what they broke? they just left it as is and called it a day.

I would be very happy at having more balanced options in daedric quests. For example, in the "Pieces of the Past" quest a good-alignment character would forfeit Mehrune's Razor to save Silus's life but the reward for that is only 600 gold (versus up to 3600 from the quest up to that point). Silus could have been at least kind enough to give you a cut of the museum's profit (similar to how a vanilla spouses gives you 100 gold per day from their store). Also, the "Black Star" quest where the rational gameplay decision is to betray Azura but that is insane from a lore standpoint (and especially if you're playing as a Dunmer or have a Dunmer spouse).
I guess "Goodness is its own reward" but it would be great to give the player more compelling choices.

    • @magickaddict
      @magickaddict  9 днів тому +1

Great points. Yes. Almost everyone chooses the "Black Star" in Azura's quest, as the other option was not compelling enough. Unless you roleplay as an Azura worshipper, it did not give you a reason.
Skyrim just reused the same artifacts from Morrowind by changing some enchantments. I hope the BS:Cyrodiil team gets more creative and we see new powerful Daedric quest items as well.

I’m kinda surprised that this project is moving faster than Project Cyrodil for Morrowind, given how old that game is.

Yeah, Morrowind's depiction likely has more content in the small area released. Obviously I'm excited for all of these projects, but I put 5000+ hours into Skyrim and it's various projects/mods.
I've done all of it. Morrowind Vanilla, let alone its provence mods, still have so much mystery and content I've never seen. (And that was my first Elder Scrolls)

@@ryanfreitas4775 Wow, 5000 hours! I must have put 1000 hours into Skyrim too. That is for sure. But there is so much more to explore and discover. That includes systems, gameplay mechanics mods, quests, and new land mods. So much out there!
Same with Morrowind, lots of amazing quests and new land mods. Open MW modding scene is blowing up!

I would say Bethesda refusing to work on TESVI for 15 years helped skyrocket the modding scene for Skyrim. Had they made TESVI after Fallout4, mods like BeyondSkyrim and TESRenewal probably wouldve slowed to a crawl.
That's my opinion, though. Either way, both will probably be a better product than what Beths puts out when the time comes.

decade and a half Veteran player here, i have 10,000 in skyrim, well according to steam that is, i played this on console too back on my old 360 back in the day too lol.
but for the last 3 years i have been taking a break and playing FO4 and the mod projects i missed out on in that game, sadly to say, FO4's mod scene is much smaller than anything in the elder scrolls, which means i have missed out on a lot of skyrim stuff in these past few years.
skyrim calls out to me quite a bit.

I am more excited about this project than anything Bethesda has planned, i have more faith and yet still lower expectations. If it takes a while, I'll wait, if there's bugs once its released, that's fine. If it's tedius to install, ah well I'll get through it. Huge respect to the beyond skyrim teams. ❤

My question is, and that is one really impotant one, when we will AT LAST have the release ???? Skyblivion is near completed, they need just couple moer months to finish and fix everything in place. Why is Beyond Skyrim Cyrodill so long behind the shedule ?

    • @magickaddict

I expect another 5-6 years of active development. 2030-ish.
They are creating a full-fledged Elder Scrolls game. It is no joke.
It is a conservative estimate because many of the faction questlines are in the writing stage. Apparently the team is busy working on the side quests now. Also, level design and dungeon work seem to be a bottleneck. So these areas may take a lot of time over the next 2 years.
They will also have to update gameplay systems like Alchemy, Enchantments, the Rumor System and many more to incorporate Cyrodiil-specific stuff. Will they make changes to disposition, economy, and other systems? That remains to be seen. I wish they would give us an update on the work being done regarding systems.
They did mention that they are not going to use SKSE, so I guess that may help as they don't have to develop new systems like what the Skywind team is doing with Levitation or Attributes and Classes. So they can save time there.
Also By 2027, when TES VI is out, they may lose modders who would rather work on the new creation engine. Many will depart apart from the core team.
Making a TES game-part-time-is so thankless. I salute these legends. I really wished they would have chosen a modular release approach; that way they would feel like they are accomplishing something every 2-3 years, but that's not happening.
So we just need to be patient I guess.

It's been 10 years already. If Cyrodiil releases in 2030, it will be a 16-year project with 1 release. Let that sink in!
At least Tamriel Rebuilt has regular releases every 2 years or so. I have no idea how the BS:Cyrodiil senior management stays motivated.

Kirkbride's vision for Cyrodiil is probably lamest thing we could've got. Black Marsh is a jungle. Pellitine is a jungle. What's so wrong about having Meditterenean setting for Romanesque people?

    • @magickaddict
      @magickaddict  8 днів тому +6

There was more to it than just a jungle.
      - traditional jungle
      - giant roaring rivers
      - large rice fields
      - dragons
      - wetlands & swamps
      - too many cults
      - ancient temples since the Merethic
A combination of all of this would have been interesting. Don't you think?

Its jungle but more diverse than the cyrodiil we've got in oblivion
      -1000 cults of old cyrod
      -minotaur civilization
      -imga (ape like people)
      -Red Dome Templar
-Diverse dragon and akaviri dragon mount by imperial legion
      -Kingdoms (not county)
      -giants
      -Alessian and Reman empire ruins
      -Various ayleid clan/cities
And soo much more, this is why im hyped for project cyrodiil
