I think Morrowind's game design was for the best. Dagerfall has some great mechanics (banks, ships, climbing) but a lot of gameplay features feels useless or confusing. Morrowind being a far more tight and handcrafted game really improved and made it age better.

It looks sooo good. Tbh it does make me a little sad that there will be no Acrobatics skill. I used to love saving the Springheel boots and "chapel-jumping". Guess I'll have to stick to Morrowind for my TES parkour fix.

This seems like good feedback. I guess I can see what might be the problem - the project is run as a set of individual passion projects being cross-coordinated, but as you said then they can't pool resources to get a single area done for release. It seems like they're trying to a) keep the spirit of passionate people just working on what they want and not being trod on much but also b) making each project seem like there's more people working on it than there actually are. That point b) might be why they keep so many things under wraps - to keep people excited and anticipating new things instead of being depressed on how few people are actually working on it.

Morrowind is my favourite of them all. The lore, setting, story, quests, factions, writing are all fabulous. And actions have consequences. This looks fantastic. 🙂

The release date cant come soon enough. Looks amazing. I wish the team made videos like these about their life streams.

I have looked through the article... It did not give me a good impression. Just sounds like a Bethesda developer trying to sell the audience something underwhelming. "Uh, yes, we've ruined the character creation system, but trust me, this is for the best!!" So much disdain for Daggerfall, I cannot believe this.

15:50 I think the reason they're calling them the 8 Divines is because in Daggerfall there was only 8. I think it wasn't until the lore behind the 'Warp in the west' lore was written that there was a 9th divine. Where during the warp in the west the different aspects of Talos were able to become one entity in the Aurbis to become a god and retroactively change the world to have always been a god. Dragon Breaks and all that.

Well, It's a bit sad that they refuse to add things from Oblivion like greaves and skills. I hope that they, at least, can save AI system from original game. NPC's conversations and behavior in Oblivion is legendary
